wolf33d got a reaction from ND64 in Mind blowing Canon executive interview
With DPREVIEW:
- The EOS M50 offers 4K video and Dual Pixel CMOS AF, but not at the same time. Is there a technical reason for this limitation?
"With the EOS 5D Mark IV, we do offer 4K video and Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus, so technically it is feasible. But given the position of the M50 in the lineup, we can’t include all of the features available in a product like the 5D IV. Given the position of the product, we wanted to achieve the optimal balance [of features] in a camera in that range."
We all knew Canon was crippling its products. Now is another proof. How can they dare sell you completely crippled shits for so much money? And people buy that.
What a ridiculous company. I am speechless.

Wonderful. Thank you for helping me understand better the type of population and their arguments who gets fooled by Canon.
God forbid you and your gorgeous 5DIV screen....

Thats probably true. Ive only covered European and World championships when held in Europe. Then Nikon has been maximum 1%. And the rest Canon. 0% of anything else.
But Im sure in the US and other countries its more of a Canikon type situation
Yup, no cinelike D in the GX85 (without hack). No video IBIS in the GX7. No 4K IBIS in the GX8. No Vlog in the G7. The list goes on.
But when its not Canon its ignored

wolf33d got a reaction from TwoScoops in Sell my 1DC for GH5?
I prove you wrong. Used Neuman footage, I did a 2 min graded and posted the result here in EOSHD, Andrew Reid and multiple other members elected it the best grade posted in the thread.
If you do not know how to grade properly thats not anybody's fault but yours. GH5 V-LOG is extremely easy to grade.
Now that the standard profile of the Canon looks better out of the box than GH5 standard - yes probably but this is not the question.

wolf33d got a reaction from GreekBeast in Sony A7S Mark 3 - What to expect
I am hopping for the following:
SAME Camera as A7III with same sensor but:
+ weather sealing and A7RIII screen/viewfinder (this is a given...)
+ 4k60p
+ 1080-240p
+ 10 bit
Keeping the same A7III sensor is great: Makes it cheaper for Sony, gives us A7III-like image quality for stills (12mp not good enough for me) and most important allows for APSC video mode. Having 2 lenses in one is just great. Put a 20 or 24mm on that and you get a very wide + standard 35mm, and put a light 50mm prime and you get a useful standard 50mm + a portrait lens 75mm.
This gives you 24/35/50/75mm covered with just 2 lenses. How amazing is that?
For me, this would blow the GH5. Just make it Sony!
Oh, and the only potential issue with my spec list would be Rolling Shutter with the 24mpx..... Hopefully they can sort that out.

wolf33d got a reaction from NikolaOvcharski in Sony a7 III discussion
Man I am impressed. Sony really stepped the game here. They must do that knowing that canikon monsters will release their version this year so they wanted to be sure to have the best specs for the price.
Seriously, if one does not need 42mpx, this is better than the A7RIII especially when considering price.
Very, very impress. Can't wait to be blown away at NAB by A7SIII. Now counting on 4K60p and 10 bit easily.
Hands on by PB: http://philipbloom.net/blog/a7iii/
In fact it is even better than A9. It gets a BSI sensor, they claim 15 stops of DR. DR of A9 was pretty bad so we should see a better still image quality here.

wolf33d got a reaction from Inazuma in All sigma Art lenses finally on Sony E mount
Sigma is releasing all their Art lens including the crazy upcoming 105mm 1.4 on Sony E-mount. (All pics have leaked).
It is good as this will save getting their adapter but I would like to see some specific emount designs from Sigma in the future.

wolf33d got a reaction from noplz in Canon M50 mirrorless camera features 4K video
This crop and 4K AF...
This is insanely ridiculous. I find it so unfair for other manufacturers who try to push technological boundaries.
Yet half of this planet still buy canon. So we are not close to see this ending.

wolf33d got a reaction from Aussie Ash in New Tamron 20mm FE f/2.0 AF
Tamron just announced an AF version of their 20mm for FE mount. Why is it great?
Well imagine this: you get a 20mm F/2 on your A7RIII that is light and small with great low light and that should be perfect on a gimbal, and at the push of a button you switch to S35 mode giving you a 30mm equivalent, close to the famous 35mm. And since it is digital, you do not need to rebalance your gimbal at all nor changing lens.
Amazing. FF-S35 mode is really great to allow light travel with 1 or 2 primes. I really hope that they release a 18mpx A7S III with S35 mode, with 4K60P 10 bits and A7RIII AF this would kill the segment.

I think it’s just two years too late unfortunately. Things have moved on. We need IBIS and AF these days I guess. It’s been almost like a second revolution in video from the dslr movement.
I just hired a full time shooter/editor to help me with my YT videos and he’s never used a large sensor camera that doesn’t have good AF. He is fresh out of college and they learned on the C100mkii and 70D. I handed him my 1DC and he didn’t know what to do. I told him he needs to learn..but still, it’s going to be a whole new crop of kids coming up in the film industry never touching manual focus lol
