What do you really miss with the GH4 Andrew? DOF, Bokeh or FOV?

I'm probably one of the few people who found the footage NOT terrible. It's nothing stellar, but not terrible. Got a coolish tinge to it and shot very clean. Didn't think it was videoish at all.

Because one might want to be able to remove it once you're done with it.

If you have the budget Shogun when it is out!

Andrew did you get around to using an External recorder with the D800 before you gave it back? EVF's are definitely the way forward, OVF's were great and they still are for the pros but with the way technology is changing the EVF is the way to go. In any case almost all pros use RAW and Photoshop so what is wrong with an EVF?

The softness of the 5Dmk3 is a plus point as far as wedding films are concerned. I tried sharpening some of the videos in post and the years of torture (by beauty products, etc) started sticking out like one of those beauty product before and after ads.

Better quality is awesome, but more usability tweaks would be even better. Just think it might be a little too late to the party.

If it drops down to to the price of the GH4, then maybe. And that too to supplement the GH4, using it for low light and RAW.

The Atomos rep made so much sense. The Panny rep looks a bit hesitant for some reason. I wonder why. He definitely had one of the most exciting products, that is coming out this year, in his hands!

Could you post stats from before GH4 announcement and NAB too? Would also love to know how many have got paid gigs, etc due to 'exposure' from this forum. There already is a section on ideas, and to showcase you stuff. Giving some gear would just give a better incentive to participants. And it's just a simple suggestion. Maybe this blog doesn't have the required resources for it. No harm done. How will it shut any of the talk is something you would know..

Various blogs have their on biases. Some report on all companies, some have their favourites. It really doesn't matter on who reports what. For example, in one of the GH4 video interviews from NAB, the Panasonic representative seems a little confused with it's sepcs, etc.

Err I don't know how huge getting exposure on this blog would be. Let's be honest. It's a good blog but I doubt it would provide enough exposure to the winner. I would love to be wrong on this one :). Ohh and gear is always useful. Gear + Exposure could be the best.

Yeah and mebbe at the end of the year give away some of your gear to the winner :D :P

Actually, you could probably buy a GH4 body in the amount you would get for a used 5Dmk3

Couldn't this still be used for shots with slower movements? It might not be useful for fast paced Bourne style ninja shots, but it definitely does have a place. The wedding market could possibly lap this up. Also, Sony should have had the b@!!s to announce the price soon after the announcement of the camera. Like Panasonic did with the GH4.

So we could get an extra half stop with a 1.4 lens on the speedbooster! Interesting indeed. The 5D3 does look marginally better. I think NEAT video could do a good job with the GH4 footage. Any chance you'll be putting up a couple of the GH4 in copy clips so we could try and 'grade' them?

Ok before this goes further off track.. 1. I don't think as far as specs go at the price point anything will come close to the GH4. Hell I think it's better than the 1DC as far as specs go. With the speed booster the crop factor shouldn't be too much of a difference either. I am super stoked about it as I could probably buy the GH4 with a 12-35 2.8 or a Speedbooster and Sigma 18-35 1.8 in what it would cost just to buy a 5D3 body or 2 of them with lenses for the price of a C100. (A camera who's form factor and ergonomics I love) 2. Also Andrew, please don't jinx the GH4. I know you are really excited about it, SO ARE WE! It was a light hearted dig at your obsession. Has the time you've spent in Germany robbed you of your humour? I get it's your forum, but take a chill pill.

Lighten up people. I'm sure the M43 Sony A7S will be better ;) :P :D I think Sony is rushing this one in because of GH4 hysteria.

Can we stop comparing everything to the GH4 please?
