With digital grading being so accessible these days, do lenses still play that big a part? I can understand for certain things like bokeh, but things like colour, contrast and even geometric distortion can be tweaked and changed, right?

Given the effort put into creating the Cinema EOS line, and the profit margins involved, I'm certain you won't be far from wrong.

Lens compatibility for Sony A7s or full-frame in general
leeys replied to miketurner's topic in Cameras
It's easy to figure out - as long as it's for a 35mm film camera it'll work. If it's for an APS DSLR you'll need to look around as some lenses have ranges that might work. If it's for mirrorless digital cameras then it's a no. -
Lowepro have discontinued their Snap Top AW, haven't they? That's what I use, but I think I might need a replacement soon. *sigh*

eBay's new postage option: "the Global Shipping Program" = A nightmare!
leeys replied to yannis.zach's topic in Cameras
Import charges are YOUR country's taxes and duties. The eBay global shipping program was charging some ridiculously low prices for certain things when I checked. I guess the lowest bidder thing doesn't always work out. -
Easier said than done. If the shoe were on the other foot I'd be screaming bloody murder.

It's end-2014, are we still making jokes on the Windows 98 kernel?

Good stills, not great video. The D600 is better than m43 in stills but you need to pair it up accordingly. If your Tokina is what I'm thinking of (SV or orange ring version), below ISO 3200 my GH3 and its 12-35/2.8 will produce better images.

Turn off IS, your IS motor/circuitry is malfunctioning. Send the lens in as soon as you can afford to.

Which Camera Profile are you using in Lightroom? Are you using at least LR4?

That's really not surprising: Sony weren't going to pull out a sensor that much better than the competition. It also shows how much improvement there is left in the video department of these cameras.

They are different lenses - the ZF lenses are made by Cosina and are very modern designs. Expensive but good.

And grading makes a difference too! Poorly graded 24p is still an eyesore.

Oh wow, even in that Vimeo thumbnail, I can see purple fringing. Is that the 50/1.8 AIS?

My experience is that straps are a freaking pain for video work. They always get in the way.
