I mean... they are pretty dope! Got a bunch too. Whether the good ol' HELIOS... MIR-1B, Industar or Jupiter series or TAIR-11A etc, all good fun lenses, some of which still available as NOS (New Old Stock) and rather affordable, so it's hard to contain yourself. And not every year and generation of each lens instance is the same... so then you start getting different kinds of the same lens to compare... then you get into the 'Red P' editions and the ones with 'cm' expressed focal lengths. Supposedly they'll soon be shipping my IGA HELIOS 44-2 58mm f/2 VLEV cinemod. Rehoused. 16 bladed aperture. PL-mount metric (with their Iron Glass Adapters PL to EF adapter). That one is going to be with me for a long long time. Hopefully one day I'll actually shoot it native PL.

Yeah, GLS... they're pretty bad.

I thought every creator was trying to hit that 10+ mins mark (sometimes by fluffin' their content with nothingness). One time Pewdiepie uploaded his content and half/0.5x speed so it would extend over the 10+ mark and viewers would have to 2x speed to get it up to normal pace (doesn't quite work btw) for the 5 min video. He also dropped in words like 'real estate', 'investment' etc into a video once to get the YouTube algorithm to feature higher profile ads with more revenue.

Was believe NAB 2015 that Ryan Avery showcased Veydra's interest in releasing anamorphics. But 2x anamorphic and quite a bit bigger than that? It also was specifically designed for the GH4's multi aspect ratio sensor and crops, so when the GH5 dropped, they abandoned any further development. But in this industry and Meike releasing basically Veydra clones, who knows...

True...

Gotta lure him in here for a few words perhaps... @John Brawley

Is it mirrorless? Does it have sensor stabilization? Does it do 4K60p? Anything in 10-bit? What's the 4K crop like? Will it DualPixel autofocus? Dual cardslot? Full sized HDMI? Mic-in + headphone ports? Let me save you the speculation. It's an entry level Canon camera. It will have a bunch of regurgitated specs, underwhelming features and a whole lot of impact from the Canon Cripple Hammer. Will feel overpriced too. Especially looking at the competition. * mmkai: '4K/UHD shooting at up to 24 frames per second' ~ https://www.notebookcheck.net/Canon-launches-the-EOS-Rebel-T8i-DSLR.454020.0.html I've been living under a rock/been slightly off the grid for a couple of days, so didn't actually notice anything about it. But it's hilarious, first they need firmware to give people 24p... now they won't go beyond it, lol.

Exists (well, like Canon did it, so: not a focal reducer). Holy Manta, OWL, Fotodiox ND Throttle, Aputure DEC, etc.

Stabilization and C-AF on fleek... hum, not. Doesn't seem like any of the knock-offs really comes close to the Osmo Pocket image quality. Just that they were able to learn from DJI's mistakes regarding ergonomics/connectivity (one has a built-in joystick, some 3.5mm mic input and of course bluetooth/Wi-Fi onboard (one even with bluetooth audio recording)). DJI should follow it up already with a 1" sensor Hasselblad Pro version.

Now as well in 28mm more compact flava (reminds me of Veydra Mini Primes): https://***URL not allowed***/vazen-28mm-t22-18x-anamorphic-lens-launched/ https://vzlens.com/product/vz28/

Actually really quite interesting, e.g. how they combat focus breathing and T-stop measurement conditions. Sticking to cinema lenses... Vazen now as well with MFT 28mm T2.2 1.8x anamorphic. Almost looks Veydra-sized. https://***URL not allowed***/vazen-28mm-t22-18x-anamorphic-lens-launched/ https://vzlens.com/product/vz28/ , also: get both 28 & 40mm, get $400 off

The Petzval or the VLEV HELIOS? 😛 Getting the Petzval in brass black and the IGA VLEV HELIOS in black without any optic mods in metric PL mount with their PL to EF adapter (I do like the look of the white one, but there's a reason most lenses are black, want to keep reflections to a minimum). Did go with the 16 bladed aperture mod (which I didn't notice was an option until I saw the Stormtrooper's listing and went over its specifics, so 8, 13 or 16; luckily my order was delayed, there were some production improvements made). I do realize my new year's resolution was to refrain from purchases, but I'm a lens nut, like an alcoholic saying 'ok, now this will really be my last drink'. Also excited for the Sirui anamorphic to start shipping. And all of these were backed with vast discounts, so not like it's thrown away money, they aren't Handevision Ibelux or Meyer Optik Görlitz hipster mark up value bubble lenses, they actually sell for what they're about worth and should retain their value quite well.

lol, saw others online calling it the 'E-M1 Mark IIJ' (so not 'III' but the 'J' of 'joystick' added) or the 'E-M1 Mark II Mark II' (a 2nd iteration of the Mark II). xD Pretty spot on.

Interestingly enough, it does sound like it would work for a bunch of YouTube vloggers that used to go the Canon route for a forward facing screen, good C-AF and pretty color. But otherwise... rather lacklustre following the Mark II. Also was disappointed with Panasonic when they released their LX100 Mark II, amongst say the G90/95 and GX9. Thought they could've done more. So I'm hoping these manufacturers aren't all just done with MFT and slowly dropping it altogether. We'll see what is the case when the next gen Panasonic cameras launch. Was also an oppertunity for Olympus to capitalize on their phase detect autofocus MFT edge by enhancing their video capabilities (other stills focused companies like Nikon and Fujifilm even seem to show more effort), but I guess the alliance means to keep out of Panasonic's video market. Maybe an interesting tool still, though. In like a year or so when value has come down a fair bit... pretty good news for the 2nd hand market interest in the Mark II.

Well yeah, not sure why you needed a new topic for that, was already mentioned. I also watched Vlogumentary the other day. Recorded before all the Shay Carl drama. But an interesting look at the vlog scene nontheless. Maker Studios bought by Disney was a biggie. Also mentioned struggling YouTubers. Like this one girl was doing Postmates and got recognized on the streets whilst doing her job which was a bit painful. xD

I've been noticing a bunch of YouTubers putting out content regarding the Sokani X60. Seems a solid Godox SL60W (of which I have two) rival.

🙋♂️ Another vote for the G9 here as well.

The ones I have are the Contax (Yashica -> C/Y) Zeiss Distagon 25, 28 & 35mm f/2.8, 28mm f/2 'Hollywood', Tessar 45mm f/2.8, Planar 50mm f/1.4, Sonnar 85 & 135mm f/2.8. I adapt them to MFT with a focal reducer, so the f/2.8 ones behave more like f/2s anyways. They are a good bunch to have and adapt to just about anything you can think of. There's some premium cinehoused ones at https://www.lockcircle.com/primecircle/ . Anyways, lots of info out there. Also on YouTube, blogs and forums. Like recently also mentioned at EOSHD already this one video on YT: But wait, there's more, order now and... there's of course tons of other videos on the subject, like this one from our good friend Alan Besedin/VLEV: https://www.vintagelensesforvideo.com/contax-zeiss/ Recent vid from a fellow Dutchie: Here's a taste of 6K:

Gotta be controversial here and say some of the scenes don't blend very well. One looks like a million bucks big screen type of stuff, the other more of a small YouTube webseries video vibe. Though more than anything, I think post-production has made it stand out and make it still stick together. Fine grading. Let's not forget about sound design, that was bloody brilliant. Everyone can go out and get a GH5. It's those who master the things beyond the camera where the difference is really being made and where there's so much potential to still grow for me personally.

What an adventure! Sure hope Sammy got away unscathed! 😄 Love the use of creative focus, to really give it an over the nose/shoulder FPV feel with the foreground out of focus.

Hey, you do you, but it's easy enough for people to find these videos themselves. It's worth highlighting a few of the more interesting ones, sure. But turning this entire forum into video dump topics, rather than a discussion topics, not sure we should go there... personally I prefer when I've got a bit of an overview what's going on in topics.

String cheese. Edible underwear. And maybe with Swiss cheese... the holes not just for mice to play around in... Let's not even go to the cream cheese jokes then...

The Sirui posted video is the same as one I've posted. I saw it on the Sirui channel first, but that was very Lo-Fi, then found the original HQ one. Also... you don't need to post every video ever covering this lens flooding the thread. That's why I did it like this: Just one click away. People can go there and find all those videos. Maybe post only those really worth highlighting? My 2cts.
