I've never encountered any triggered overheating protection ever on any camera I've ever owned (they didn't get that uncomfortably warm either). So... why does Sony have such huge issues with this? How can they expect me to buy a camera I can't rely on? Work arounds with screen dimming, lifting the screen, opening the battery compartment, taking external power, adding a fan... that's all cute 'n stuff. But those are workarounds that should not have to exist. Hope they get their shit together with their next A-release. I did intend to go Sony, but just not like this I'm not.

Nope, google '12-35 jitter'. Tons of hits. Just not sure if it's still there. There's firmware updates and such to deal with those things. Also... it seem some people have had the issue and others do not. - yeah, seems like firmware dealt with that for the biggest part (although some say it isn't 'fixed' but turned into 'minor'/'considerably less' jitter only), from what I've gathered they didn't seem to address the same issue on the 35-100mm with firmware, which probably makes 'em night and day now.

I am. Just. Sometimes another place has it In stock faster. Sometimes, it is not what it seems. Glad I didn't pre-order the Sony A6300. I pre-ordered the Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera because of the global shutter... which it ultimately didn't ship with. And... 'don't try this at home. We try it, so you don't have to'. Exactly as some folks have already mentioned, best to just wait it out an see what it's actually about. Just my 2cts.

Ok, I've got a rumor. First 500 units are free. Please pre-order thru the link to have a chance! Yes, I agree on spring likely being true. I do not agree on January. There's seriously nothing to support actual availability by then. That's not even a rumor anymore, it's just something that people want to be true. Doesn't mean it is. Anyways. Not a good idea to pre-order anything in the first place.
-
Eh... No they're not. The only 'source' is a mere 'pre-order' mess up. Nobody has actual info that shipping commences next month.

Ignore. People can't read and like to make up stuff. Looking at https://www.facebook.com/groups/pansonicgh5/ one of the mentioned things is http://www.divephotoguide.com/underwater-photography-scuba-ocean-news/rumor-panasonic-gh5-coming-early-january-2017/ , which obviously is a bogus title.

Seems like he fixes in post, while it's better to handle the problem in-camera anyways as if greatly affects highlights for example as well. Neways. What's up with everyone needing to sell tweaks all of a sudden? Imagine Magic Lantern charging to get the exploit... (and that would actually be justified)

Indiegogo price on the Instamic is still alive. ~ https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/instamic-the-smartest-microphone-ready-to-record-video-music/x/9727099#/ , should be shipping out any day now.

Yeah, everyone can list specs and provide news. Big whoppin' deal. The whole internet is slowly turning into CNET Buzzfeed TMZ type crap places just to want your quick click and cash in. Well. At some point you just don't feel like coming back there anymore. Not going to waste my time with that. If I want specs I'll go to the manufacturer's site. I don't need some endorsement from a flippin' hand puppet. I appreciate uncensored unbiased opinions from people who actually break down strengths and weaknesses of something and doesn't sugarcoat it when something's not all that great. I do end up buying a lot of stuff, just to see for myself, not only because people have their own agendas, but they also just have other priorities, wishes and needs and might draw different conclusions based on that. That's still the best way to get some insight, not by reading news articles and stuff, but just by using it yourself. Unfortunately that's not always possible, so it is of utmost importance that there are still a few honest places left where people dare to share their actual experiences. I appreciate what Andrew is doing for the EOSHD community, I also always take into consideration what Chris and Jordan from TheCameraStoreTV and Mathieu at MirrorLessons have to say for example, as I feel there's a great dose of objectivity involved whenever they talk about a certain piece of gear looking at both up- and downsides of something.

I'd be all over dat Angenieux Type EZ bro! ... you know, if I didn't know what else to do with my money.

I'm pro resolutions. But uncooked would be the shit!

It's like a tablet VS laptop. You just get more stuff done in a productive way with a laptop that has the proper interface and tools built into it. So I bet it's going to be pretty sick (not just 4K60p, but that 10-bit, jacked up bitrates, 1080p slowmo, V-LOG X, maybe choice between H.264 and H.265, anamorphic mode with de-squeeze monitoring, timecode, headphone jack, hotshoe audio interface, fullsize HDMI, RAW out, maybe it's as fast with read-out/processing as the E-M1 Mark II and has negligible rolling shutter effect etc). Means we're also going to keep seeing 'Lumix'-logos pop up as we watch shows like The Grand Tour.

That got me curious: the all new Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II. The mucho expensivo Olympus PRO and Panasonic Leica line-up. Lights: Aputure LS C120d. That I actually went and got this year... ehm. G80 (Panasonic UK free promotional battery grip came in two days ago!). New Sigma DC DN 30mm f/1.4. Oldschool Leica Summicron-R 50mm f/2. Probably forgetting something.

Ooh, that luks gd. Would've been a no-brainer with sensor-stabo. I detest Apple, but I wouldn't mind them rolling out an X-T2s right about now.

Which is the one from today (Release date: 16 Dec 2016) I take (they seem to have released one today). Sounds funky. Not sure either. Sounds like you need to await that reply. Pretty sure two teammembers are on here as well, they might get e-mail if you send 'em a personal message through EOSHD ( @Brian Caldwell | @conurus ).

True, although dual IS 2 works wonders, so that does give the Panasonic a slight edge on stabilization. Otherwise, they're pretty far apart. The 12-40mm is a PRO zoom and the 12-35mm is a Lumix. You notice that in build, in optics. Do believe the 12-35mm might have some weird micro jitter issues as well. Overall, I'd go Olympus as well.

I'd say weed. Or shrooms. Heck, I think it's inducing the effects onto the audience through video as I see a spaceship coming from her mouth. Some next level subliminal digital media shit right there. Time to forget about 4K, 3D and HDR.

Noise is very digital looking. So, what you can do is apply a denoising correction. This might leave your image a little fuzzy and overly smooth and clean in parts. So, what you can do is re-introduce some definition by applying a layer of grain. Of the more organic/filmic kind. That usually looks very sexy. But to each their own.

But it isn't 495 more than body only, so effectively, it's not. Also... performance wise... it's a kit lens, it doesn't particularly shine anywhere. The range is useful though. But it's maybe max a 329 lens. Realistically wouldn't pay more than that to have it. It's not even terrible during daylight though and it does have optical image stabilization; the dual IS 2 proves useful.

Wanted to buy the Leica 15mm... saw that over in Sweden you'd get a small discount + GM5. I was like... WHAAATTT?! Gimme! Unfortunately, they weren't able to accomodate shipping that deal to me. But man, those GMs look nice and small and great jacket pocket carriers with like the 14 (or Leica 15) and 20mm pancake lenses. Though I guess the LX-series might kinda cover that too. Wish they'd release a LX200 with a couple of fixes (fully articulated touchscreen, a mic-input, dedicated SD slot on the side, new sensor with better performance and stabilization integration, CineLike profiles, built-in ND filters (LX7 had this) and live HDMI-out). Of course it's more versatile to have an interchangeable lens system and arguably, you could opt for optimized primes to squeeze out a little more performance and character. The GX80 will have you covered. Just be aware that like the LX100 you can't have the screen facing the forwards for monitoring and there's no mic-in or CineLike profiles.
