Or you're just a little too much... Anyways, what was it you said again..?

Hair, fabric, buildings. When sharpness locks on it's damn detailed. But not in a brittle way. Colors, mood, works. Nice.

Or a hot girl of course...

The ASC Mag piece on The Bourne Ultimatum can be found here: https://www.theasc.com/ac_magazine/September2007/TheBourneUltimatum/page1.php . Not only ARRI cinemods these, there's Duclos, G.L. Optics/Cinema Glass and Cinematics/PCHood that will mod these kind of lenses as well for example. The official name is 'AF Zoom-NIKKOR 80-200mm f/2.8D ED'. Tagged AF-D by uncle Ken. Just beware that: The other Bourne lens is officially named 'AF-S Zoom-NIKKOR 28-70mm f/2.8D IF-ED', in which case the following goes: These Nikon lenses are known to match very well amongst one another, though I couldn't give you any guarantees as I haven't used the 17-35mm f/2.8D myself or delved into its capabilities, but I think the fact these get customized says enough.

Not sure it's any help to you, but Caleb did a whole video on music video production...

He's mentioned that earlier in the topic, he's in Norway, so he's got import duties to worry about either way, since Norway is outside of the European free trade zone. Then it actually makes more sense to pay for it with USD which currency converted is the more attractive option for him. For EU countries within the European free trade zone the currency on copter-rc only 'appears' to be the cheaper option (EUR price from the German store is same as USD price from the Intl store (both 998), yet the conversion rate is 1.00 EUR =1.11794 USD (so the EUR price would be more like 892.75 EUR than 998 EUR, but I think that that added 100 bucks fairly go to European stockage, handling and franchise fees anyways)), but there you'd have the almost certain risk of import charges which would blow the price over the pilotfly.de price (VAT alone, +20% ~ 200 EUR (excl. add. logistical/administrative costs and possible customs fees (could be around 5%, haven't looked it up)). For those within the European free trade zone therefor it would make sense to buy it from them through their German office.

You don't have to consume 360 video with VR goggles neccessarily. However, if you want to immerse yourself into a world where you are the center of the 360 video by wearing a pair... that would be virtual reality. Did you actually watch that Mini VR video I mentioned in the other topics? I think it's a good example of what touches on the possibilities of such a thing. Remember, this is a venue that is still pretty new and people are figuring out. Most videos just take you on a documentary type journey where you can follow along and look around, but that's just about it. It's more interesting when reality meets a first person video game concept. I can imagine some kind of Cluedo set-up. Where you perhaps hide some hints about who killed someone and if you were looking closely you might've spotted those clues, if not, you end up with different suspicions and a different experience. You could re-live it afterwards and change it up, suddenly have a whole other experience. You make your own stories. But you're limited to tech, especially the camera's location, you can't have your viewer just freely roam around. They control what they're looking at, but not where they are (because you can place the camera somewhere, but not everywhere). That would require an actual virtual reality, not a man made one. But yeah, there's still some unexplored territory here.

That's been discussed before... And the NX1 topics themselves. Just do some digging. From what I've figured Samsung's own S zooms. The 85mm. And high resolving glass as well as some vintage ones.

Well, I'll stay tuned! We've all been wondering about this one, yet (almost) nobody dared touching it! - huh, is that a 1D C? You didn't have one before either, did ya?

Hardly any I suppose since he speaks of 'a hair' and 'POINT 15'. It's nice to know image has slightly improved. Then again, some time has passed, so it's only natural that more is possible with newer efforts.

You can if you rig 'em up to do so... just not for 200 bucks.

2nd batch has -10% discount. International on: http://copter-rc.com and within the EU: http://pilotfly.de .

Sony A6300 review (rolling) - Striking image but nagging issues
Cinegain replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yeah. It's like a Sony 'feature' these days. Chelsea Northrup even reported overheating when shooting stills only. Ouch. Wouldn't want to burn my fingers on that. -
Thanks for that, now that's helpful info! So there's no real need to go there, unless you like the form factor/application it offers, the battery life and the 60p. For me in the end it's about the image, battery issues can be solved, the BMPCC doesn't need an external screen to be used stand alone. So it really depends. Global Shutter would've put me over the edge though. Hope they'll manage something like it in the near future.

Sony A6300 review (rolling) - Striking image but nagging issues

Hence the 'I just wish it had a bit more performance in it'. But I don't mind the format itself per se. I don't require the fullframe look. Or atleast I'm not in favor of carrying around a fullframe camera with fullframe covering optics especially. APS-C/S35 is perfectly fine for me (wish the A6300 wasn't so stubborn, then that one would've been it!). If not natively, with MFT just throw on a focal reducer of some sorts. But still, you don't get much out of it on a pixel level, that much is true. It's like being a detective and gathering facts to put a bad guy away. The more evidence you have on him, the better case you have against him. Same for sensors, get more light, you get more facts and a clearer picture of what went on exactly. So yeah, unless we get that organic sensor and NX1 chip infrastructure working together (and having it written away to a juicy file), unfortunately MFT will keep underwhelming on performance. That's not to say you can't shoot the BMPCC on ISO800 with a nicely lit scene and get some stunning imagery. G7 is supposed to be quite fine as it is already too. So, you know. I'm pretty sure it could be decent. Curious about the GH5 and E-M2. -
It be interesting to know how it compares to the BMPCC in a direct face-off.

I always say 'don't go amature, gopro'. I've started way back when the 808 cams and MD80's were the main thing. More recently tried a bunch of these actual action cams, incl. SJCAM, Xiaoyi & Soocoo. But they aren't for anything serious. For family trips and crash cams... maybe. You can make out who's there and what they're doing (it's proper quality... for like a dashcam). But just not for filmmaking. It's not very visually pleasing, it takes a lot of effort to get it that way and only in certain conditions. So... for some fooling around to figure it out... perhaps. But don't think you'll be using the results any day soon. I know GoPros are overpriced and not all too exciting either, but their image is still the most usable I think.

Sony A6300 review (rolling) - Striking image but nagging issues

Rebel? Maybe if it were mirrorless and any good, but nah, I'm talking about the crossbreed, so much more like a GH4 than a 600D. The only thing I'd want from a Canon is the color science and dual pixel AF, the rest is pretty worthless to me. Besides... you really think ML will bother with newer cams? I love how the E-M1 holds in the hand and the dials operation, it has IBIS and also fine color and organic rendering. NX1, nice color as well, super duper chip infrastructure and processing, no overheating, only a glimps of what the hardware is actually is capable of made its way into the firmware possibilities. APS-C, but not really a huge benefit on pixel level concerning noise/sensitivity. Yet APS-C would be pretty cool, we've discussed a possible premium GH-camera with APS-C sensor much like the JVC GY-LS300. GH4 has that vari-angle touchscreen, ISO/WB/+/- dials on top I find pretty genius. Features that include an anamorphic mode for example. The BMPCC doesn't have much going on for itself, except that it is small and the footage is outragingly awesome. Imagine an actually practical camera crossbreed with the whole shebang just mentioned and writing stuff away as DNG RAW or ProRes. Wowowiwa. Yeah, I was kinda thinking A6300... but now... eh... maybe not. Then I was like: BMMCC... but then again... nah. So, now I'm not sure... maybe a 5DmkIII ML RAW after all! (Nah, won't happen either ) -

Let's take it to Kickstarter! Joking aside (or are we?!), I don't mind the M43 crop and mount too much, it's quite workable. I just wish it had a bit more performance in it. All comes down to pixelsize, bitdata and processing/codec. Imagine a crossbreed between the NX1, GH4, E-M1 and BMPCC. But yeah... not likely to happen unfortunately. Unless indeed someone takes it up to themselves to change the game, but that's just not realistic I'm afraid. -
hybrid camera. bolex+1, pocket+1, 5dIII, 6d, a6000+1,g7? Help
Cinegain replied to tomastancredi's topic in Cameras
I think Andrew draws a fair conclusion in his latest article... I'd consider those options. G7 and NX1 if you need 4K. Nikon D5500 and D7200 for hybrid shooting, decent lowlight and great stills capability. My 2cts. I'd forget about the Canons, dBolex and Sony cams. But that's just one guy's opinion. -
Speaking of which, they've just posted a status update. It is a nifty small footprint solution. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2044759634/hercules-the-worlds-smallest-camera-motion-control/posts/1525094

That's with any of these. They aren't 4-axis stabilizers after all (not that the Nebula 4200 looks great, and all the other projects were abandoned). As long as you do the ninja walk and know your gear, you can make it work really well. Especially after some practice and getting to know its behaviour. These are just the initial tests... imagine the results after a while with one of these...
-
Not just you. I think it's really impressive and might just be the idiotproof thing I was looking for since the Nebula 4000 kinda took off with this concept. Steady, fluid. This really is the one?
