Certainly looks alright. But take a cheapo table dolly (let's say 15 bucks)... ... and then imagine something DIY to make it motorized... 199 then sounds quite the up in price.

But it says 'kronor', not 'honor'? Jokes aside. That is pretty cool. I'll try to pull one out of an ATM in Stockholm later this month.

I've been rooting for them to bring out something like a mirrorless D5500. So actually, kind of something like the NX1, but then Nikon. Could see them giving the Sony A7-line some competition if they'd make a mirrorless version of the D750 too...

With 'the oppertunity' you mean 'it was never around at an acceptable price'? Return of the swirly bokeh! The inserts are cute. But to be honest, personally I think I'd rather have some vintage Russians and a tailored DSO 58mm! But I'm sure it's pretty great!

I think one of the reasons the GH4 is so popular is size and price. You increase both when you start recording externally... It's a great trick up the sleeves. But not enough to be considered magic.

I thought this was very well done (they've sent me a free Google Cardboard): http://www.mini.com/360/en/index.html Some behind the scenes stuff there as well...

Anyone any good experiences with stage32.com ?

Yeah, I actually followed the bread crums and it brought me back from Zomei to NiSi actually. Could just be that NiSi puts on a 'high-end' face... perhaps they're taking the ODM services from Zomei and rebranding them as NiSi... then selling 'em for 3x times the Zomei. Thing is, the NiSi does look a little suspiciously cheap for its price and actually rather similar to the Zomei package as well. Just slapped their name on the filter, pouch and packaging? Both are called F-Stopper PRO on top of that. Could be the other way around... that Zomei wants to benefit from NiSi... but to be honest, before that Newsshooter video I'd never heard of them, so that makes you wonder why they'd bother over at Zomei. Those new NiSi '6K'-filters they showed in the video, do look to be on another playing field, admittedly. Just not sure what to make of it. I'm trying to figure which piece Zomei is in the puzzle... but I gut feeling says they're probably the original design manufacturer behind it and are providing rebranding services for NiSi, Camdiox, ICE, perhaps Haida even. Anyways. They are claiming Schott glass, unbiased colors 'that will not affect the photographic camera color balance' and so on... my guess is that they must be a definite upgrade from let's say Fotga, for not too crazy prices. Not sure if anyone has bothered to look into them before, didn't see all that much, so you indeed would have to feel like a little splurgy to go and actually find out. But it will be something I'll keep in mind. - They've got other filters as well (VND, CPL, etc). Found some store fronts: http://stores.ebay.com/2014bingozomei , http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/bingozomei , http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1582034 , http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1261904 & http://www.aliexpress.com/store/518684 . They're on AliBaba as well: http://zomei.en.alibaba.com . http://www.zomei.hk . I'd say be careful about the really cheap filters in the Fotga-price range, I'd only consider the actual glass ones to have a certain quality to them.

Thanks for the info! Nice. I love the 12-40mm f/2.8, picked it over the 12-35mm f/2.8 OIS although it flourishes on the E-M1 where it really thrives on that sensor stabilization. With the GH2 and cheap chinese classic glidecam-type thingy it was just too much trouble to get the stabilization down though. These gimbal stabilizers then really give some renewed possibilities. Italy is my southern neighbour, so atleast no import tax surprises! Hum. You've given me some food for thought with this... Thanks for the share. Great job on the footage out of the GH4 and style/tone of the piece too, I'm digging the vibe!

Looks good, Jazz! I take it you like it!? It's the one we didn't hear much about, but seems quite nice. Did you actually used the flip-out screen for that (I believe most handheld gimbal stabilizers block the way in order to be able to do that, but the MiniSturdyFlight put the arm on the right (which imho is the right way to do it) side)? What's balancing/tweaking like? A breeze or a pain in the butt?

Haha true story. 6 bucks. If no good, atleast they make interesting coasters! I'd be curious to find out how these would turn out... Not sure whether to believe it, but some of these Zomei 4x4s on eBay cost 49,99 USD (or offers accepted; e.g. #1 , #2 ) and are supposedly made out of Schott glass.

Can't really be blaming him now... you're grown up enough, time to start taking your losses like an adult. You took a risk, then pushed your luck even a little further, and now that it's coming back to bite you, you're dumbfounded. It's in the past, bud, can't do much about it now. What you're left to do with is figuring out how to put it to use now. Focus on that. Take the advice some of us already offered, manage to somehow get yourself a BMPCC, T3i (I believe it could be put to C-mount crop?), G7 or so. You'd be doing yourself two favors. Getting yourself a camera that works with the lens you visioned having... and the camera is a probably a definit upgrade from the T2i... there's still future for what you said out to do... just takes a bit more effort than anticipated. Anyways, we all make mistakes, it's part of life really, take something away from it and use it for good in any future endavours. Maybe the lesson here is before jumping to any quick weighty decisions, first explore your options, take your time rather than thinking of all the 'pros' to find the 'cons' instead, rationalize and sleep on it, get others with experience and an objective look to weigh in on the situation... then you can make a deliberate decision. Don't want to fall? Don't take these huge impulsive leap of faiths... And if you do... brush off your shoulders and get up at it again!

Yeah, I don't get what's happening. I'm used to seeing USD prizes in EUR (although the EUR is (still) up from a 1:1 ratio). But adding additional dosh on top is just plain madness. The balance is gone I think. Picked up the Olympus 75mm f/1.8 recently, as it finally wasn't 949 EUR (1000+ USD!) anymore. Yet across the big lake it goes for as low as 699 USD! Again: madness! But yeah. It is what it is.

Great craftmanship! Well done on getting one. Pretty jelly over here! Still hoping to apply for a Nikon mount Flare Factory 58 if he'd ever consider doing some again. I absolutely loved the look on that 'Olivia' video!

First thing I thought: 'hum, that voice... argh, it's so familliar'. I figured it's basicly the same voice Charlie Skinner has on The Newsroom. Then I noticed the colors. The NX1 does handle color really nicely, doesn't it? Other than that it looks alright, but not particularly mesmerizing.

Yay! I understood correctly. What do I win? A demo unit?!
-
I believe the Lite version is 1.2kg light... as the product: the handheld gimbal stabilizer itself. The Pro coming in at 1.4kg and the 5-axis at 1.8kg. Loads for either based on the same components: 1.6kg. Atleast, that's how I understood it.
-
Ok. I guess we'll have to await the first reviews then.
-
I don't suppose you're able to do that with any app bought on a certain account. It's coupled to the account and non-migratable, right?
-
With the D5300 they lost the low pass filter, making it a tad bit more detailed/sharper I'd reckon. Believe processing got a little boost, so a little better noise control. Other than that, don't believe there's much to it. If I remember correctly the Nikon hack community has hacked the D5200 for better bitrate and so, but not the D5300? - Oh, the D5300 did get that 50/60p.
-
Yeah. I agree. For flexibility there's nothing much nicer to have than a VND in front of course, but for the times when you can, especially for more professional level shoots in controlled environments, just use either a clip-on or rod system mattebox with ND's or circular ND rings with indeed the magnetic Xume system. Caleb had some insightful videos on that... http://dslrvideoshooter.com/filters-video-part-filter-types-uses/ & http://dslrvideoshooter.com/filters-video-part-ii-matte-boxes-lens-accessories/ .

I did see 'em before. For me one of the more exciting things showcased at NAB. Next to Aputure's Light Storm series. Ofcourse at IBC a Chinese company was already working on a similar product (to the Wescott, I've already seen similar Aputure panels on LinkDelight)...

Those are just Aputure rebrands. Aputure in general is decent-to-great value. No experience with the Amaran 528-panels though. Pretty interested myself in the Aputure Light Storm LS.

I'm just imagining them resorting to Kickstarter!
