IMO, EF 100 F2 is the best lens for Canon with anamorphic shootings. It is better than EF 85 1.8. Micro lens would not be a good choice if avoidable. EF100 and EF85 look like the same, but EF100 has the metal thread, which is rare in modern lens. Its edge's sharpness is better than EF85 1.8.

who still said this is not a 2x anamorphic lens? it was taken by ISCO integrated lens with EF 100 f2 lens. the picture is 3:1 exactly, no crops.

Is it single focus one? looks rear mount is too small, so it would limit to choose taking lens. Maybe no way to use with full frame camera.

How does it looked as zooming with your 35mm prime lens?

imo, 2:1 is less meanings, not wide enough, like 16:9 with little crop. No anamorphic lens can get the best result. There are also some simulation filter accessories available if you want anamorphic looks.

Usually, I use adhesive tape to cover the anamorphic lens rear edge first. So it is possible to let it touch the front glass of the taking lens without scratching the front glass. The glasses between two lenses would not touch, we can estimate that.

IMO, all the anamorphic lenses have correct ratio at relative infinity, such as more than 5~10m, depends of FL. I used 1.33x, 1.5x and tons of 2x lenses. If the anamorphic lens mounted is not close the taking lens, it will show less ratio. The best mount size is not equal size of the taking lens filter thread and rear mount of the anamorphic lens. In equal size, you never get closest of two lenses. The best is the anamorphic lens rear mount is 1 or 2 step down size in my experience. Step up mount will not get closer too. My mounting way always makes the air gap between two lenses' glasses within 1mm or less, almost touch each other.

IMO, if only say focus length without related to sensor's size, there is no meanings. Like some one measuring distance to compare by using different rulers, one metric system, and other imperial system.

I think this might be the world's only 1.6x lens, mods from a 2x lens. No focusing necessary over 3m and least distortion. Sorry, I am unable to upload photos here. The key word is achromat. Here has a useful info: http://fuzzcraft.com/achromats.html Even if I never use close up lens, but I think if you shot closest distance by 2x lens limit, mostly at 1.5m/5ft, you might get far less than 2x images, maybe 1.85x or even less. The +0.5 lens might help to keep images as close to 2x as possible.

Sorry for my poor English. In above picture, the left lens had 52 to 50 ring, so you can screw in the front of 52 thread lens. But this way would not be close as the way using a clamp(mine is made of two step up/down rings) to mount as shown on right lens. Usually, I would use adhesive tape to cover anamorphic lens rear mount edge first, so it could touch to the front glass of prime lens that won't be scratched. Then you got the closet mount.

I am sure you got 2x, after focusing over 20 meters, might less than 2x if less than 10m, about 1.9x. For 1.5m, even less than 1.9x. All lenses specs are said at infinity.

Looks B&H is just bigger mount. If the glasses size is the same, then it would be heavier. I don't see other advantages.

50mm rear mount is ok. you can find others(52/55/58 etc.) to 50mm step down ring. refer to my gallery. But actually I never use this way by directly screwing them, which would not be able to put both lenses closest.

Basically, @85mm works perfectly and safe, the widest can go down to 70mm, depend on prime lens. The focus length is counted as 35mm film equivalence.

I did it before, it woks. BTW, Eiki has standard 52mm thread. So IMO, it is better than original Sankor 16F. So I sold my Sankor, still keep Eiki.
