Advice on eBay anamorphic lens listing (No advertising)
ken replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
:D    http://www.ebay.com/itm/331347364744 -
I just ordered an ultra slim one, but not arrive yet. I think size matters. OM lenses have good reputation.

There are two factors that affect the resolution. One is pixels, other is lens native resolution, which equals to sharpness. Pixels have not much to do with sharpness if there are not too low. For example, many P&S cameras have very high pixels, even more than 20M pixels, but the image is still cannot compare with old CANON 5D mk I(with prime lens), which is only 12M pixels. Because that depends on the lens resolution or sharpness. IMO, sharpness gained by 2x anamorphic lens still have advantage over the higher pixel sensor.

Many older Sigma film lens used in DSLR is only working at max aperture. I would like to buy Canon lens, also cheap. I have 35-135 and 70-210 f3.5-4.5, both are very sharp, each cost about $80. And most important, the front lens/filter thread will not rotate.

I have no idea what purpose the dog schidt or DSO for. But 2x anamorphic lens for pictures are getting higher resolution or sharper for sure. Because of the compressed vertical pixels, compare to the way of crops, which lost half of effective pixels, if the picture needs wide screen to show for the best result.

Hi, did any one compare Schneiders with ISCO integrated lens? Which is wider? Optics difference?
-
You did not get back part of the lens. Here is http://www.ebay.com/itm/Isco-Optic-Blue-Star-Ultra-HD-70mm-Projector-Lens-for-Anamorphic-DSLR-Macro-/171495452280 this is original whole lens with back part http://www.ebay.com/itm/321543867890

SALE: rare Centascope MK. 3 x1.5 anamorphic lens
ken replied to Eimantas Norvaisas's topic in Cameras
I have a similar one, looks the same lens, but different brand. I don't think it is a sharp lens. Alignment adjustment is easy. -
WOW, how you did that? This attachment is the sharpest lens I have over 10 others. But needs 100mm(eqv FL) to get rid of vignetting. And the weight is more than 1.2kg too.
-
Thank solo, I will take a look.
-
Free?
-
Hi solo, could you please introduce some negative 72mm diopter lens? :) thanks. I got a Kodak VII, the biggest one, still smaller then 52mm.
-
deleted.

I will send later tonight or tomorrow(due to different time zone) when back home.
-
I can send samples to you. But don't know why "My Gallery" cannot upload now. Can you upload to yours(please try)? Or just mine does not work.
-
Because the glasses are big. But we can see uneven on surface. It cannot compare to smaller ISCO integrated lens. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Because I do not shot video, for photos only, the resolution is much strictly. If you don't mind the big lens like that, more than one kilogram. You might consider ISCO HD attachment, way much much better, very similar size.
-
I think for common use, ISCO integrated lens is easier focus than Schneider lens. B&L is just junk, poor optics, BTW, no focus at all.
-
I have 55 & 70, 80. Above 70 could use on ff. I think 65 might still work. But even same fl, there still have different versions. Some could be used with M42 focus tube, some is too big.
-
Noway, I bought one at 40 some, plus shipping more than 50.
-
I think for ISCO integrated lens, can take off more to reduce weight. BTW, why cannot upload to "My Gallery" now, it always returns an error.
-
I believe many people have them. How much you are willing to pay? What focus length you need?
-
I don't understand why using ND filter with ISO 200, and not ISO 100 or 50 if applicable. I think Speedbooster will not affect shallow depth, only brighter, right?
-
For using with 85mm, Kowa 16h is perfect, but ISCO integrated lens merely works.
-
I don't think there is a major optics difference between Schneider and ISCO. But Schneider is difficult to focus, not sure how your guys doing? Shoot infinity only?
-
Kowa is just a brand name, no only one type, usually said 16H. Agree this is similar to 16D. But 16f is much smaller(around 300g), not likely from the picture. Check gg again, this might be Kowa 16S.
