Well according to UPS I'm suppose to receiving it today. I'll do some tests with it. But what should I be looking for specifically when I do these tests? Like sharpness, softness, distortion, etc.? Since I don't have experience with using close up filters/diopters. But I do understand their uses.

Does it really matter if your using achromatic diopters vs close up diopters/lens? What differs, aside from allowing closer focus. I'm starting think if I should return the SLR achromatics, for close-ups from Hoya/Tiffen, etc. Although I haven't tried the SLR yet since I'm still waiting for it in the mail. What do you guys think?

Hey would you mind posting your work flow in regards to desqueezing and exporting. I have a setup already for my bmcc 2.5k raw and gh2. But I'm trying to get an idea for 4K, when I get my GH4 soon. I'm wondering if I can use the same work flow on the GH4, as I do with my current setup.

I'm curious as well, since I'll be getting my GH4 soon. I already a have workflow for my GH2/BMCC 2.5K raw. I need a workflow setup for 4K on the GH4. But I use FCPX and Sony Vegas Pro though.

I'm just as curious I ordered the SLR magic diopter set to go along with the 1.33x anamorphot. But I plan to use it with my Isco 2x.
-
I'll try that, cause I also have a 1.33x and it's definitely not close to how my Isco 2x is

I have a Isco Optics Cinemascope Ultrastar F=85 - 3.35in with the Blue star. Anyone know if it's a 1.5x or a 2x? I can't seem to determine it, since it doesn't indicate that on the lens.

I would suggest buying the Anamorphic shooter's guide, it helps a lot for beginners. As others said 55mm and up with apsc sensors with a 2x works best. I think 55mm vignettes slightly, you can find a 58mm and your good to go.

I'm excited to see what the Shogun with the GH4 can deliver. GH4 alone is already impressive

My preamp does not supply phantom power. And so far I've had long run times with this setup. At least 45 mins to an hour straight. Once a week or so when I been doing interviews for the last 3 months or so.
-
In that case I should just continue using my current setup with the GH4. Since I'm already running a Beachtek preamp with my AT897(battery operated) xlr mic, right? Does it matter if my xlr mic is battery op and not phantom powered? Since it doesn't connect directly to the camera anyway.
-
I see, and if I use the VMP I assume you adjust the gain to 0db, camera to -12db? And since the iRig Pre has an xlr input, I just need a 3.5mm to xlr adapter? And I'm good to go?

Has anyone got good results with either the Rode video mic pro or Panasonic dmw-ms2? I've read there were some noise issues with both. And I'm in the market for a decent stereo mic. Since at the moment I use a Beachtek dxa-5da preamp with an Audio Technica at897 XLR mic on my GH2, for my run-gun/eng shoots/interviews. I'm going for a simplified setup when my GH4 arrives.

Values were close enough, but I ended up setting it to the maximum of .800. Which looks perfect for 1.33x to 2x viewing.
-
I was able to get it working. I had to go into the 1080i mode and make the adjustments and it worked.

Great! I'll have to try this when I get home, and I'll post pictures too.

I see, well in my case I want to see that it works as advertised, and as it shows in the menu. I spent a good chunk of money on this evf, and I expect it to function as needed. I'm beginning to wonder if the DP4 would do me better. Only issue is that I'll have to get an HDMI-SDI converter to run this with my BMCC. But I don't want to have to go this route.

Try primes from 35mm to 85mm. What's the rear diameter of the sankor? With a 50 you could get vignetting

I'd rather post here then make a thread. But I just got my Cineroid evf4css, and I'm shooting with a 1.33x anamorphot. Anyone know what to adjust the anamorphic settings to? It shows 1.000 then counts down not up.
