  1. What's described in the first post sounds pretty pointless if I understood it correctly. If you have to focus anyway while the camera also autofocuses, then why not just use a single focus lens? I could see this weird dual auto focus setup just creating problems. Easiest way to shoot with AF is just to put a 1.33x adapter on an AF lens.
  2. Here's a little Kiteboarding short I put together over the course of a year shot entirely on 2x anamorphics. I'm happy with how it turned out and hope you enjoy it! https://www.knotfuture.com
  3. Sounds close to correct. I use the smallest extension tube and then a spacer (O-ring) I made out of some thin plastic cutting board. Titos method of putting wire in-between is pretty ghetto and unexact IMO. You can wrap some tape around it afterwards to stop the lens spinning (it kind of turns even when tight).
  4. Yep me to. Can't see the draw over an M50. I had some hope, but I should have known.
  5. I basically never use MLraw anymore, the 5Diii really only gets used for photos by me these days. Although I really love it, it's just not practical or suited to my needs so much. I'm probably going to get an E2 to go with my GH5 for the video stuff, they should be bringing a 4K Raw codec to the camera soon which will fill that raw hole . I just want a small, light camera that shoots good photos without much work SOOC, seems like RP could be that.
  6. Looks like I could be switching from 5Diii for my photo travel camera. This camera isn't the priority for me and I just want something smaller and lighter that shoots natively with EF glass. RP looks like it fits the bill.
  7. I never really have an issue with build quality (i.e. I've never broken a camera). The eosM50 is much lighter and less sturdy, but that build quality would be fine for my uses.
  8. I'm looking to replace my 5Dmkiii, I use it every so often for jobs (my main work is video though). This new camera entices me because it's so light and since I'm always travelling with a ton of stuff if it can do what the 5Dmkiii can do in a smaller, lighter package (plus as a C cam, or extra interview cam with 4K) I'd consider getting it.
  9. I don't mind the look of these Canon cameras. I'd agree they aren't special or ground breaking but I prefer how they look to Sonys A line (ergonomically speaking they also look superior to me without having tried one).
  10. I want to know more about this camera, I don't give a shit what you think of Canon x competition in every thread related to it. Thank you.
  11. Not enticing me anymore, I think I'm picking up the Zcam E2.
  12. No lens will look as good as with MLRaw . My Canon FDs look good on GH5, but they look amazing with MLRaw. Maybe these older lenses just look nicer when you have a fuller colour spectrum, having 8-bit you loose a lot of that at which point you probably only focus on their short comings as vintage lenses (or at least rank them more in the sharpness/distortion category).
  13. What's going on there? Looks like some serious BK pollution in that image.
  14. Resolution and colour, both seem to look nicer to me even on a 1080p display. I really notice the difference trying to match the two side by side.
  15. If you shoot with anamorphic lenses the difference between the 4k and 5k modes is noticeable. I shot a whole short almost entirely on 5k anamorphics with HLG and it was a dream to grade.
  16. That image is f#cking lovely! Man every time I see MLRaw I'm impressed, I need to shoot more with it again.
  17. I haven't seen anyone else with the issue in any of the tests I've viewed (many), so I'm going to attribute it to user error. I have no idea what was done, but it would be blatantly obvious to me at the time of shooting that something is wrong and it needs to be fixed (especially if I'm doing a review, partially because you want to give people a decent review and partially because you want people to take you seriously).
  18. Yes. Which clearly didn't look right. I'm sure the camera is capable of having the white-balance set properly.
  19. All good man, but if I was using a camera and the difference was that noticeable I would manually white-balance it (or at least try so I could show that function to people), regardless of the camera I'm using. I get your point about the camera not being easy to use (or perhaps even fully enabled) at the time of release, but I also think this camera isn't for you or the type of people who expect that. IMO those people should buy something like an EOSm50, anyone can use that camera and get respectable results. Z-Cam are really open and transparent with how they are implementing new features and improving existing features. For the people that like the cutting edge and insight into the development of a product this camera is unmatched in the market right now. Thanks for the effort, I just feel you (or possibly B&H) have missed the mark a little here in regards to what this camera is actually for and your review does a pretty poor job of highlighting almost any of the features that the majority of people would be interested in this product for. My buddy is 18 and does top level work with this camera. I think kids are pretty interested in Analog again.
