It originally said - "External Microphone Input: 2.5mm for external microphone, Stereo/Monaural is selectable when attaching DMW-MS1 (optional)" I think it could have been a mistake un-fortunetly .

"slowly"...

Buy some cheap FDs or Takumars. 24 or 28, 35 and a 50 should cover most situations. Newer lenses with complex designs and zooms don't tend to work as well. You can get those lenses I listed for pennies. Also I would advise getting a vintage 2nd hand 2x adapter rather than the SLR, you will save a ton of money, put that into lenses and diopters.

In their official specs they mention a 2.5 mic jack... is it possible everyone is reporting on it wrong?

Canon inde film makers will slowly die out in the realisation that ML will never be a thing for their Canon cameras ever again...

What's the chances of a new GM cam coming soon with these features?

^agreed. I had the same thoughts when I saw that cage. Someone needs to make an aftermarket cage/monitor combo that turns this thing into a small portable DSLR type setup, that would sell well I think, just pop it in and out depending on your day/shoot.

Yes, there are many small options that work well. Just do the research before and don't pay too much. -

They also double as nice doorstops when you pick the wrong one . -
The lens is in great condition for it's age and is nice and sharp, there is only one small blemish on the outside, bottom of the rear element (can't actually be seen in a photo) which is barely noticable to look at and is far out of the image circle, it will not show in any shots (guarenteed). It's located in Australia but can be sent anywhere. Looking at around 750USD which is less than what I originally purchased it for. Reason for selling is I shoot with ElmoII and 8Z as their rear clamps are interchangeable, the flares colours are different so can be swapped between to add effect. (Pictures are just screen shots from an Australian listing I had).

Anyone else interested in a B&H I still have one available.

Smearing and distortion also gave it away. Although some wide anamorphics do have that as well.

Buy the RAF 16-S adapter on feEBAY. Affordable and well made, fits precisely.

1.33x seems not worth the hassle in my opinion. Better just to get a filter.
-
No worries, it's a great tool.

Since most people in this topic don't read your initial question properly and suggest way off topic solutions I'm also going to suggest you don't buy any camera and instead waste any disposable income you have on Anamorphic lenses and shoot "test shots". No need to thank me now. -
Cheers man! Please tag me again when you do!

It's ok, but given it's downfalls I don't exactly think it's an amazing prospect as of now. Perhaps Sony will change my mind with some updates. I'm still really interested about - CIZ on this cam? and can it be used in 4K as well? or is it only 1080p? If so how's the quality of that??? If someone has this cam to test try it out and let us know. This is something that intrigues me and adds further value to the cam imo.

Core DNA is a far better use for your money.

Andrew 4K has more crop though? (if not 24p)... Also your camera will melt if you're shooting a lot outside. I had hoped the 1080p would be super nice in camera, that's one of the main features I was hoping for. Also does anyone know if there's CIZ on this cam? and can it be used in 4K as well? or is it only 1080p? Also how's the quality of that???

Tell it to the fan boys . I'm also interested to hear opinions of XL vs Ultra as well if anybody has had both and what they think? Also if you do both photo and video work with either I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Cheers.

Sound logic @Brian Caldwell! 4:3 will remain a standard for sure, I just don't know if people will consider the need so much for the stretch you want to produce? I guess that just comes down to marketing. As if they don't know why it's better they wouldn't look to buy it (maybe). Maybe it's possibly better to consider a 1.79 isco type attachment for the GH4 type crowd (i.e. Me) and the primes in 2x stretch ratio to compete better with the other bigger companies 2x offerings. Or do you think 1.79 stretch in that more expensive market will be received well? I honestly have no idea, but I'm sure a 2x set of primes would be a safer thing to put your time into as there's no guess work needed there. In the end I'm just a pleb, you know your stuff and you have to listen to what your head is telling you. p.s. I sometimes shoot 1:1 on the GH4 to fill a 16:9 frame and it works pretty well .

@ Dayraven, the fact that people were discussing that notion in an attempt to somehow rationalise the horrendous rolling shutter performance (in the off chance that they purchased the cam) is funny enough for me. I'm sure no-one in their right mind really thinks it's "OK" . @Kisaha, I agree you can't have it all for a super low price. What I'm talking about is a premium APS-C sensor camera offering, in an A7 package. I'm sure there's a market for this. Lets see if the a7000 comes out soon and what it looks like.
