Very true, I didn't see any difference shooting 10bit on the GH4...but then again I never got to shoot VLOG which probably grades better in 10bit color. If the gh5 looks anything like the gx80 and has ibis then its worth a buy in my book. Cant say I had much complaints about the gh3 & 4 other than the noise

So its possible to get 23.976 DCI on the nx1 or 1080p & 48 fps using this method ?

Looks good but I think I see what people mean by the jerky motion cadence. It doesn't look like a shutter speed thing it legit looks like its dropping frames ! Hopefully this gets fixed and quick cause the color is gorgeous

Canon reminds me of the friend that we all know could go so far in life if he applies himself but he just refuses to take the necessary steps to do so. Canon has the user base, the resources and the industry know how to be able to generate enough user feedback to give us a suite of super cameras like how Sony has the a7 line. They could've made a separate line of mirrorless cameras and dominated. I have heard the argument before that Canon does this so they don't cripple their C-line but at this point that doesn't make sense...the 5d is one of their high end line of cameras

I am completely dissapointed. I was hoping this would mark my return to Canon smh. A full frame 4k camera with Canon color science and a potential magic lantern hack would have changed the game for sure. I could've looked past the fact they refuse to put an articulating screen on this thing if they at least gave us those features but whatever. If people buy this then it supports Canon's ideology that people would buy anything they sell no matter if they ignore the free user feedback given to them from the filmmaking community.

if they make this with a constant 2.8 aperture I would for sure by the xc15. These days I wish companies would make more high end bridge cameras cause they are soooo useful when you really need to grab shots & for documentaries (reason #1 why I bought an rx10). My dream would be an xc15 thats all manual ; No fly by wire focus & zoom for total control :-) I have high hopes for this camera !

you should not have a problem getting good looking colors using a LUT from visioncolor or a program like FILMCONVERT. Sony may not have the most ideal colors but its not that bad

@vaga if I have time I will regrade or just upload the original images. If you guys want I can start shooting unedited clips so you can grade em yourself. I dont see any pink/magenta shift. Checked my vectorscopes to be sure and the skintone was on the money. The reddish hue is most likely from the warming filter I use on my lenses but I like it *shrug*. Anyway If anyone has any requests on what you want me to shoot let me know. Even if its a specific profile you want me to shoot in like gamma c or gamma dr etc. let me know anything I can do to help

@Happy Daze tried it before I wrote about my experiences with Luma range. I'll stick with 16-235 its not that serious...

@vaga i've driven myself mad trying to figure this out and master pedestal since I've had the NX1. As a premiere user 16-235 works for me with no visible banding or artifacts so it works the same on the NX1. 0-255 always gives me mixed results when grading in premiere even with raised master pedestal. So yeah im personally sticking with 16-235. sidenote : in the spirit of keeping this thread alive I am still experimenting with NX1 settings. normal gamma,standard profile -5 sharpness, -2 saturation w/ 16-235 luma underexposed by -0.6 with 160-200 mbps hack.

@sandro it was gamma c at 16-235. I forgot which settings I used for Gamma C but I am working on some new ones anyway. Really wish I didn't have to use 16-235 but I dont have a choice til I find something to use other than premiere

@Happy Daze i set my camera to 16-235 and nothing clipped ! Think your right about premiere...hmmm may have to move to davinci to use 0-255 footage
