You can find used gh4s for 600€? Haven't seen them below 900-1000€
-
I think it's a nice camera but even if the price il low it doesn't have any real strong feature
-
A few weeks ago I asked about the sony a7 because I've sold my 7d and I wanted to buy something "smaller" After a few days of research I can't decide what to buy anymore. My budget is limited and there are too many cameras to choose from. tI do mainly stills but I enjoy making personal video projects, I would love to buy the fuji xt-10 but videos sucks...right? It's an amazing camera but in my mind it's a bit limited. The a6000 is great for both stills & video and that's what I'm leaning to, the price it's not that high, xavcs, EVF...but I don't like the body that much, I can live with that tho. The a7 is ok but from what I've seen the a6000 is better and cheaper :/ The olympus em-10 II seems good but it's a m4/3, It has amazing ibis, great body. Finally the gx85 , everyone loves it I know...but I don't like panasonic cameras for stills, even for video I prefer sony, yes it has 4k and ibis but I've already owned a g6 and a gx7 and I can tell you that it's a nono for me. I know that the latest fuji is good for video too but I can't afford it, anyone has tried the xt10? Probably I'm gonna end up picking the a6000, I've a 30mm 1.4 from sigma (canon mount) that i'd love to use it with my next body

Do you have any flickr/500px or anything else with photos taken with your a7?
-
Mostly photography, that's why I'm interested in the A7 and that's why I'm still using a canon!
-
The gx85 does not have any microphone input, I already owned a panasonic g6 and I really don't like the m4/3 system, it has a nice ibis but that's it.
-
I'm using a 7d so I think that even if the quality is not top notch it would be still an upgrade @bron I've seen your videos, "behind the photo" is really great, nice work!
-
I've seen that the first a7 body only can be found for like 600€ used, the price is really low for a full frame body, is it any good? I was thinking about buying this sony for both videos and stills using only old prime lenses

Maybe I'm a bit ot/ but besides the 5d3 which is the best canon DSLR for raw video?
-
Is the 5d3 the only canon that can shoot "easily" raw?
-
Seems like I cannot apply that to my g6 footage due to the inability of my panasonic to play with advanced picture profiles, thank you anyway! Totally agree, I love the g6 and I'm not gonna sell it, I can't go back completely, I really can't stand the aliasing of canon cameras for example. I'll try your setting, right now I'm testing standard with -2-2-2-2 I'll try that, thank you!

So It's been a few weeks since I've got my panasonic g6, I really love all the features of this camera like 50p, touchscreen, peaking, evf, tons od detail, almost no moire and aliasing and I think it's a huge upgrade over my past canon cameras ( I had a t2i and a 5d2 over the past years) but I still regret my purchase. Maybe it's just because I'm new to this camera but I cannot achive the same feel that I had with my t2i, mostly I can't get the righ colors, everything looks more "digital" and also pdc it's a pain with my cheap f/1.8 - f/2.8 glasses... I also have an old 5d (the first model) for shooting stills and I'm really tempted to sell it and buy something like a 7d just to have the ability to shoot canon like video, It's a really strange feeling because I started hating canon recently and that's why I jumped on the g6 :/ am I the only one?

Is it difficult to get a flat profile out of this camera?
-
Maybe the problem is that the em5 shoot 1080i and not 1080p? Btw right now there's an olympus offer where the give you 100€ is you buy a em10 so I could buy that camera for 350€, it has the same processor of the em1, it should be a bit better than the em5.
-
Yep that's the point, the lx100 it's about double the price, the em5 would be a really cheap body that I'm going to upgrade at the end of the year or in early 2016...maybe I'll try it, if 30p it's really that annoying i could sell it
-
I don't really like having a fixed lens, the lx100 seems to have a very jittery IBIS (still awesome though, it's my second choice right now), the rx100 III is good but at that price point l would buy the LX100 even if it's a bit bigger. The 30p is really that bad? I think that if there's a way to avoid lights flickering I could live with that, If I had the money I would love to buy the em5 II D:

Hi everyone! I know that nobody cares but I decided that I'll buy an OMD em5 or 10 Basically I want the stabilizer, I want to shoot a video while travelling and I can't bring with me tripods or sliders, I'm not a pro so I think that I don't need 4k or awesome codecs, probably I'm going to regret not having 60p for slowmo but I'll try to achive something decent with twixtor. My only question now is "having only 30p is going to give me flickering lights?" I live in europe...is there any workaround? Because that would be a really big problem...

May I ask you why you wan't to change the gx7?
-
I love your youtube channel I've seen some stuff from the lx100 4k downscaled to 1080p and i was like :Q_ Is the dynamic range the same as the gh4?
-
I know that the camera is just a tool but that doesn't mean that is not important, I just want to buy something that suits my needs, I'll be fine also with an old 550d but now that I can decide what to buy I want to take the right decision because I can't afford to change gear every week

I'm back! I've found another deal on the gx7 but at the same time I started thinking about the lx100 and now I'm really confused : / The lx100 has a great lens and the range it's quite good to me, but it's also more expensive...it has 4k and in body stabilization (IBS is something that i really care about), moire is more visible but not that much, I'm a little bit concerned about dynamic range and the focus ring (bad experience with the fuji x100). On the other hand the gx7 is cheaper but just add the cost of 20mm and we are above the lx100 price. It seems to be better in low light but IBIS works only for stills, no 4k. I'll be able to use some legacy lens ( I love using this lens with smoooooth focus ring) but this could be also a problem if I want to travel light. I really can't decide, the IBIS of the lx100+4k+compact size+great lens it's taking over but I'm afraid I'll regret not been able to use old lenses...
-
Thanks to everyone, today I decided to buy the GX7 but the offer in the store was gone...I'll wait till next week for the amazon prime day and then I'll probably pick the a5100 because right now is cheaper.
-
Can I use xavcs for 60p on the a5100?
-
The bigger sensor of the a5100 is the thing that is holding me from buying the GX7
-
I recently sold a fuji x100 and I loved the small form factor...now I want to buy something that it's roughly the same size but with a small budget. I've found a cheap gx7, at the same price i can get the Sony a5100, my only requests are 60p and good stills. I don't need the mic input but the evf on the gx7 is very usefull, is really comparable to the gh3? What about the a5100?
