  1. Mine will arrive in the next days. I will do the initial tests with the kitlens and take it from there. Thanks for the overview! I will get back to it!
  2. P.S. regarding the size of the R8 - i tried it in a foto shop and it is really small while having a usable button layout and a nice grip. It's smaller than the APSC R7 for example.
  3. I am having similar needs regarding the camera i am currently looking for. I am trying the X-M5 route but one other camera that i would love to test is the Canon R8. It seems to check all the boxes you need. Combined with the 28mm pancake it is really small while still usable. You can use all the lenses you have. Basically a R6II without ibis. I guess for video work you put it on an small gimbal anyway... I haven't fully watched the following video, but you can see how the combination of R8 and 28mm looks. (It's around 2:40 - the rest of the video he is holding an R6 or R5)
  4. Interesting - though it might be a situation where one year is a pretty long time in which the market might change dramatically. But definetely a sign that fuji is growing/ investing in new products which might be great for Camera tech anyway.
  5. Yes, i ordered one and will let you know. Question also is wether the 27mm pancake that is unavailable most of the time will be available as i believe everyone will want it for this camera...
  6. True, X100 V did not have ibis though too. My question would also be wether there is a lightweight Gimbal available.
  7. Really interesting! Is it possible to put a moment anamorphic on that 28mm pancake?
  8. I am not sure i understand what kind of movie you actually have in mind. I am with you that due to the recent streaming wars the market is oversaturated at the moment and this boom is over but on the other hand my watchlist is growing longer and longer with great films and series. And of course that's not the fault of the EOSHD Forum - but the forum has been a great documentation of the change that has happened in the recent years.
  9. Back when i found out about this forum everybody wanted democratization of the filmmaking process (f.e.: 3K for 3K). And now we have that and we find out that the medium has become worthless and filmmakers are even more like musicians were. In my opinion it was much harder to reach mid level (f.e. shooting 35mm) back in the days, but easier to move from mid level to top level... Now it is easier to move from nothing to mid level. Overall i guess the amount of jobs and the overall money in the market has risen considerably since 2000.
  10. I also went for the analogue route this summer. Feels so much nicer to have a 50D and a 150 Euro camera with a nifty fifty on the beach than thousands of euros of equiptment. Manual Focus though...
  11. Yes, that was actually my hope. 😅 Thanks for the input and the ideas!
  12. Hello everyone! Check out this little musc video we shot on A74 with helios 44 and a 24mm Samyang Pancake. As the song builds up: if you do not have much time please jump to the third part of the video as that is the most energetic part. We shot three videos in 4 hours, so for this one we used approx 90 minutes. It was a lovely warm evening in Hamburg, something that is not happening very often. Nevertheless the song is really nice so i want to share it here. As always feedback and youtube comments are highly appreciated. P.S. still not loving Youtube compression.
  13. Yeah, i was Yeah, i was hoping someone in the forum would have experience in either one or maybe come up with another idea...
  14. Hi, as the technical side is becoming cheaper and cheaper i would love to get some insights wether anyone in this forum is actually making money with their creative endeavors: I am less interested in the typical booked gigs business (ranging from a one man army videogproduction to full blown DOP on features and commercials), but more in the realm of micro budget features, youtube, and other creative ideas... So everything that is kind of outside the typical system... Yes, i have just read "Rise of the Filmtrepreneur" by Alex Ferrari... 😉 Would love if anyone here would share their insights!
  15. Yes, the streaming wars are over and at the moment the market is oversaturated with content. On the other hand there was always an up and down in the market - lots of people remenissing about " the glorious DVD years" (Indie film hustle podcast). Now is a great time for indie filmmakers to create their low budget projects.
  16. Just remember the ultimate ADHD Film was shot on XHA1 https://youtu.be/t2koYVqwzT4?si=I-D4pVCKAktGxSWa
  17. Yeah, it's the size mainly. For fotos it's mainly kids and family, the idea for video is to shoot stuff that i can use later on in music videos, video essays or short films. So many things going on in the city that want to be archived for the future.
  18. I ordered one: my Sony a74 is just sitting on the shelf and only comes out when i shoot a real project. I would love to have a something with me that shoots nice quality and feels like a camera at the same time... We will see...
  19. Thanks a lot for your feedback - i have watched wanderingdp but will intensivy! You are absolutely right with all the inspiration and a stronger focus on concept. I feel bad answering your text with just one sentence , but i cannot say more than it's highly appreciatet and i will definitely look in those directions. It's just hard to capture the focus, especially on a gimbal. you can only move from side to side but not in and out. AF ist much more convenient 🙂 On the other hand it just looks so nice wide open... You are also very right. I felt pretty limited of what to show due to the winter and feel i played it a bit "too save"...
  20. I am really wondering how much it would be to buy the complete Digitial Bolex project ( incl. contakt to manufacturers etc.) from the original creators. I guess all the technical parts have become dirt cheap since the original release.
