Great work!

I was thinking to buy the Nebula, then I tried the MiniSturdyFlight from SturdyShots, a nice 3-axis gimbal built in Italy. This is the first shot I made with this little monster (Not all the shots are with it, some are handheld)

ciao, I did that several times with GH4 and G6. If you want the short path just shoot with "Natural" profile on both cameras, with sharpness and saturation all the way down and contrast slightly lowered. Otherwise you could match GH4's Cine-D (or V-log) with GH2 footage with a little more work: you should start correcting the footage in order to have the same contrast and color in all clips and then you grade them with film convert or any software you like. Just an hint: if you can, choose the GH4 for the larger shot and the GH2 for the close up, in order to maximize your possibilities thanks to the greater dynamic range of GH4.

Ciao! A couple of days ago I shot a music video for a brass band. I shot partially handeld and partially with the MiniSturdyFlight 3 axis gimbal. In the next days I'll shoot a "live" playback, but yesterday I sent them a little color grading test, so with their permission I'd like to share it with you in order to have some opinions. For this little test I did not use their song (it's a Ry Cooder's one) in order to not spoil their new single that will come out in some days The second test is a slightly different color grading and audio from the camera that will be not used... Very nice! How did you move the camera? Gimbal?

I have 2 Yongnuo 600 (the one with just 5500° K led, in order to have full power and not 300 led for 3200 and 300 for 5500) and one Dorr 820 LED (variable 3200°-7000° K): I find the Yongnuo very good, better then Dorr, no color cast problems. I used them in this video: both in the infinity black part and in the staircase as backlight for the singer. They seems cheaper then similar Aputure lights, but Aputure gives you power adapter, batteries and the light mount... so, probably, next time I would buy Aputure instead Yongnuo, because at the end I had to buy batteries, power adapter and mount...

Wow! I was really disappointed by V-Log L, it is far away from BMPCC flat file. In your opinion the RX's LOG is comparable to Blackmagic Pocket prores file? Is it possible to choose shutter speed and to use manual focus with peaking? Huge thanks!

Wow! Amazing! The stabilization seems great! Just few questions, because I really enjoyed it from your video: is it the 120fps better then the 96 from GH4? Is the LOG (as final file) better then the Cine-D or the V-Log L from GH4? How about battery life? Of course it's not possible to use my old lenses on it, but it seems just beatiful and it could be very useful in a lot of situations!

Your Panny G6 review made me switch from DSLR to mirrorless: to me less is more, and I'm very happy to read you'll write more about this cheap amazing cameras All the best and good luck!

I would buy an Olympus 12-40 f/2.8 and a couple of primes: maybe a Panasonic Leica 25 f/1.4 and an Olympus 45 f/1.8. They are great for fotos and video. And after that you can enter in the crazy world of vintage lenses and adapters

The second part, while you are tracking the lady, is just what I would achieve! It's "human" without being shaky. Very good!

You are right, we used shallow DOF sparingly because we had to shoot super fast since we was shooting run and gun in Rome without permits in just one afternoon and we could not repeat shoots, especially those on Ponte S. Angelo, full of tourists and selfie stick sellers I shoot all handheld, excepts the wide shots, with a tripod. Also the scenes with guitars were shoot all in one session (at Argentario, Tuscany), handheld, in the golden hour, and the same evening, when the sun went down we made the infinity black scene with the flares on tripod. Thank you very much for your words, next time I will try to incorporate more close up with nice cinematic shallow DOF. p.s: Beautiful shot! Is it yours?

1) Internal ProRes HQ 10 bit 2) usable V-Log (BMPCC style) 3) 5 axis stabilization 4) 1.85, 2.35, 2.39 etc framing guides 5) 240 fps at 1080p I have no problem with low light, I find it pretty good. Super 35 would be good but it is not a game changer for me. I would prefer internal ProRes HQ 10 bit.

Dear all, this is a music video I shot for a client with my GH4, some old Canon FD lenses (20 f/2.8, 24 f/2.8, 35 f/2, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.8) and an Olympus 12-40 f/2.8 for a scene. I used mostly the Cinelike D profile with saturation all the way down and sharpness -2, but for some scenes I used "Natural" with contrast -3, saturation all the way down and sharpness -2. The cut and the color was done in FCPX: I used @AaronChicago GH4Alexa LUT via LUT Utility for 80% of the scenes (I used it between 30% and 50% depending on the scenes) and a Kodak emulation on the remaining shots. After the LUT I made the usual color correction and a light color grading with FCPX's color instrument. The lens' bokeh is amazing, it looks like a real anamorphic lens! I also like very much the framing and the color correction. I'm with you: the long awaited V-Log is a little bit disappointing... super noisy and not as natural as I could hope. I have not the possibility to record externally, but in 8 bit is something really disappointing. I was hoping to achieve the BMPCC look with this V.Log, but it is very far from it. And my BMPCC is so unfriendly to use... I love the GH4 easiness... Anyway I have better results with Cinelike D, but I made some live music shot with both GH4 and G6 and, in order to match them, I used the "natural" profile and I had very... natural shoots. How do you set "natural" and how do you color it? Thank you very much, Simo
