Are you 100% sure that an A7S II will come? Sony's marketing keeps saying that with the A7R II you don't have to choose between resolution and sensitivity.

Then you should really focus on those threads, or make more of them. If we like that, we will follow. In the meantime, I appreciate summaries like this as well. It can be really helpful to a newcomer, and it does not state that a well lit and composed scene is not essential for a good shot.

Thank you both for the clarification. The box is nice but I think we'll see products like this way cheaper in the near future, as the tech behind it is not that complex. I'm surprised it has no competitors already.

Everything happens for a reason. If the owner gets bashed, there's a reason for that too. In the end he is a person just like the rest of us, regardless of what he does for the community.

The drama is just a reaction to something already very dramatic. I think it would be fair to moderate that too next time.

We grew up with 24p, we think it's a great tool for creating illusions, but I would never consider it as a golden standard for mankind. You say if the curtain is pulled away high frame rates cease to be convincing, but I wonder if you really missed 24p if you had no idea about it. Let's say you grow up this way and someone shows you a 24p movie, would you really think it is better? I highly doubt that. I know this is hypothetical, but it's important to see that we are highly trained to believe that 24p is ideal, it became standard like 80 years ago.

Yeah you can record 12bit raw HD, I forgot to mention that I was thinking about 14 bit uncompressed raw. However, 4K raw is still out of question.

Even the fastest SD cards don't have enough continuous write speed for RAW fullhd, not to mention 4K.

Does any of you know if the D750 can export 1080p 60p over HDMI?

Hurtful yes, but rumors started many months ago about a replacement. So I think a price cut was to be expected.

Please post your results when you have some, I really want to see a D750/NX1 comparison. When it comes to details I'm sure the D750 is no match for the NX1, but I wonder about DR and colors.

Check out Cinelerra. I don't think there's a better one for Linux, but don't trust me, do your search as well, as I'm a Windows user
