Depends what you need but we have so many options now. The GH5 is already a fantastic camera. Personally, I'll probably go for the S1 or S1R next. Waiting for the specs and first reviews.

Congratulation guys. Just a personal remark, I will never have time to listen a 50 min podcast. If possible, try to break it down in several episode or at least, post some sort of "Table of contents" (11:32 Fuji, 24:04 Canon R, etc.) below the podcast and/or video so people can go where they want and skip the subject they don't care about. PS: the Shigetaka Komori book is very good

Could it be the ultimate Instragram camera for wealthy influencers and travel bloggers? Shoot, do a quick edit and post in social network. I'm curious about the connectivity and App integration.

10% off FilmConvert ?

Much cheaper than anticipated. Thanks for this critical update!!!

Doesn't cost anything to ask but I don't see why they would all the sudden spill the beans a few days after they main presentation. I'm sure he can do that ? This is key, probably very expensive, I would say 8 or 10 euros for a Bratwurst. Doesn't hurt to go, they should know you by now, that would be counter productive to feed you with PR crap.

What's up with the all the whining about the screen? Sure the regular flip screen is nicer but as long as this thing tilts up and down (which it does) that's acceptable for the majority of video work (gimbal, etc.). I really don't understand all the hate here. This is not a Vlogging or selfie camera. Discarding a major alliance between some of the best manufacturers and killers features (4k60 and Dual IS on a FF camera) just for the screen, isn't kind of silly? That being said, I have the feeling that the S1 and S1R might not be the ultimate video L-mount bodies because: - Panasonic said the S1 was 70% photo and 30% video oriented - They showed a slide with a Lumix roadmap aiming for 8k in 2020 for the Tokyo Olympics Therefore I expect that these cameras to be solid performer for video work (like the G9) without being the ultimate "FF GH5". This one may come in 2020 with 8k. Just speculations obviously.

I never use LUTs actually and I'm on PC. If you want, I can try them on Premiere. Let me know.

That's a big difference, you may want to check your scale (DJI announces 907 grams with battery and props). By the way, DJI just released a chart to correct the distortion when shooting in h.265/10 bits mode. It just showed up in the lastest manual version 1.2

Probably the margin of error of the scales. What do you have on your side?

605 grams for the drone with props on. 295 grams for the battery. So 900 grams total on my weight scale.

Panasonic announcing a full frame camera on Sept. 25???

Personally, I like to have the two variants so we can choose what we want based on specs and price. I think that the 30mpx of the 5D4 and R are kind of jack of all trade master of none. They fit in between, not especially good in low light nor producing very high definition files. I expect the new Panasonic S camera to push the envelop without all the Sony issues, the Nikon Z will be good while the Canon R won't bring anything special. Sure the Canon R will be a decent camera but I don't see any incentive to switch from my current canon DSLR. -

I'm not a mount specialist but it seems that the L mount is a bit small for an optimal FF integration. Kind of like the Sony E mount that was initially designated for APS-C camera. Canon and Nikon made a lot of noise about their large mount and how it would be better than before (even though the EF and RF diameter are similar). Marketing aside. Sigma exec also mentioned in the past that designing high quality lenses for the Sony E mount was challenging due to the small diameter of the mount. But they did it eventually and the FE Art lenses seem as good as the EF and F counterpart. Plus, the Leica 50mm f/0,95 has also been fitted on the FE mount. Same for the IBIS so personally I'm not very concerned on a technical standpoint. The L mount is larger than the Sony mount and it shouldn't be a major issue. I'm more curious about the commercial and strategic decision to adopt the L mount. -

Beside the technical question, I don't know why Panasonic and Sigma they picked the L-mount on a strategic standpoint. The FF Leica lenses are outrageously expensive, limited in number (6 models), and not especially impressive (mostly variable zoom). Finally, the L mount user base is insignificant. So what is the commercial and marketing interest of joining what appears to be sub-standard mount? The only reason I can find is the partnership between Leica and Panasonic. Basically Panasonic covers the electronic part while it benefits from the optical experience of Leica. https://news.panasonic.com/global/topics/2014/29096.html "The companies had signed a cooperative agreement for digital audiovisual equipment lenses in August 2000 and agreed to cooperate in the digital camera sector in July 2001. Since then, the companies have built up a cooperative relationship in optical technology and quality control, and brought high-performance and high-quality digital cameras to the market by fusing Leica's superior optical technology with Panasonic's digital technologies such as image processing. Panasonic will continue to incorporate Leica's century-worth of optical technologies and camera traditions into the DNA of Panasonic's digital cameras to further expand our business." -
Very nice video, please post it in this thread as well.

Add a bit of noise (dithering), upscale the export (4k) with a big bitrate.

Yes!!! Please, report on your current setup and the Nikkor. I'm very interested by real life feedback and video samples. The GH5 is such a great camera. I'm very exited about the incoming Panasonic FF but I hope that Pana will keep the GH line alive.

Indeed, what a fantastic info. Hopefully Sigma will offer the EF to SL mount conversion. Switching will be easier.
