  1. There are plugins for RawLite that make it reasonable to work with. I mainly use Resolve for C200 footage as there is more control. I tend to buy Prograde CFast cards. They just work... so why take chances? To save space I often leave the files in place and edit directly off the card. If you are working on any non 4k projects you can output excellent 2k 10bit to an external recorder. I know there is a third party external SSD adapter, but I have never used it, so cannot speak to its reliability. The C200 is an epic cinema camera. Great AF... is truly usable. Good lowlight performance, nice sounding preamps. Great battery life. You can fly it on the Ronin S, but for that I use a support vest with arm as it gets heavy. Lots of latitude with the footage and great dynamic range. Don't think you can go wrong. Fyi: can't recall ever shooting 8bit on this camera. I have other smaller cameras that can do that. If you buy the C200 shoot raw or 2k 10bit.
  2. The 1DXMk2 with lens is huge and heavy. It feels much heavier with lens than the X-T3 with lens. Battery grip or not. Don't get me wrong... it's built to withstand war. But that said, it's not the kind of camera that you take along on a whim. This is the strength of these smaller and lighter cameras. Btw... thanks to everyone for the kind words. We all know it takes guts to put your work out there, and while there is nothing wrong with constructive and positive criticism, I feel it reflects poorly on the community when things get negative. Remember, being negative with film just doesn't work?
  3. Thanks... I now understand that I suck a this stuff. I really needed that wake up. It's a silly hobby. I think only pros should dabble with this stuff.
  4. Looks like the new FF Panasonic May have internal ND filter.
  5. Not sure what you mean by that. I don't make a dime from photos and video, it's only something I do for fun... And last I checked cameras do not deserve people... Cameras are inanimate objects. If taking personal pictures of my family is not deserving... well you can go fuk yourself. I don't recall begging you for the $15k I dumped into the Fuji system. And for the life of me I fail to recollect you chipping in for the $30k plus for the 1DXMk2 with lenses and support gear. So to that end who cares what you think deserves what? I simply shared my personal experience and you look at it as an opportunity to launch a personal attack. Having hardware fail is not "fun" in my experience. But if you enjoy that aspect.. well, what can I say... have fun?
  6. The Canon 1DXMK2 is a completely different class of camera. It’s an absolute beast. At no point do you ever feel uncomfortable about its reliability or performance. It’s the best stills camera that Canon have ever produced. It’s the reason I will not buy their mirrorless. When you know a company is capable of this level of product, why go with anything lesser that they produce? Was the X-T3 a replacement? No, I never thought of it that way. Not outright anyway. But I had hoped it could work its way into my system. Certainly for video it was great... in many ways even better than the 1DXMK2. But for my taste, cameras need to be reliable. Like @Mattias Burlingsaid, once the trust is gone it’s hard to get it back. Here are some shots done back to back with the X-T3 (first) and 1DXMK2.
  7. I’ve had similar things happen in the past. One of my SD cards left a small fragment inside the slot. Unfortunately, this issue is different. While the build quality seems quite good on initial inspection, clearly quality control on these Chinese assembled bodies is subpar. It’s a shame, as I really loved shooting with the Fujifilm cameras. They are tons of fun... I just need my hardware to be reliable. I was willing to give them another chance... but after the second body died, I had enough.
  8. So it's been a little over a month since I purchased my first FujiFilm X-T3 body. About two weeks after purchasing the first body I became convinced that this camera was very special. It was fun to shoot with. It reignited my desire to shoot stills. When it came to video the X-T3 seemed more than capable. I decided to refine my lens collection, adding the 23mm F2, 35mm F2, 16mm F1.4 and 56mm F1.2. Later I add the magnificent MKX18-55mm T2.9. All of these lenses performed to my highest expectations. I can tell you after this short period of owning these cameras that they can capture some truly lovely images. The in camera profiles are great and very inspiring to work with. The whole experience is really quite wonderful... well, that is it was. I am getting rid of the whole system. Why? Well, the second body decided to quit. The screen froze up and would just blink. A quick call to Fuji tech support revealed that the hardware had failed. I called to get a return authorization, which was granted. I decided not to go for an exchange, instead opting to wait and see how the first body held up. Today, I went out to shoot some pictures for a project we are doing. Upon arriving at the location I grabbed the X-T3 out of my bag and flipped the switch to power it on... NOTHING! Absolutely nothing. No lights, no screen lighting up, no power up at all. I tried different batteries. Still nothing. I tried pulling the battery and holding down power, then re-inserting the battery and attempting to power up again. Still nothing. Finally I tried the one thing I knew would work. This technique has never failed me.... I went home and grabbed my Canon 1DXMk2. Needless to say the shoot was completed. But the Fuji's are paper weights. I'm done with FujiFilm. It's all going back. It's packed up... I will not buy another one. In my experience they are not fit for serious use. Heck, they are not fit for even casual use. I had spoken highly of them in the past, but this experience with not one... but two bodies failing is enough for me. Lesson learned.

Well perhaps true for stills as those files are 14 bit raw. But I think the latitude afforded most hybrids is a bit less.
  10. No one has seen it in action so it is hard to say. However, on the surface it certainly seems like it could be. I foresee these modular type gimbal becoming the new trend. The Ronin S has a removable top section also. I would seem with some thought DJI could also make a slider module to add similar functionality. My biggest problem with the Edelkrone product centers around the many reports of issues from users. I welcome additional manufactures getting into this market as it will no doubt drive innovation and reliability.
  11. The Panasonic S1/R should tick all those boxes. But second thoughts... don't count Fuji out... who knows what the XH2 will bring? Im sure it will be compelling. Fujifilm is starting to take video seriously.
  12. Frankly would be more interested if it was double the price without the compromises. Can't say I recall requesting your buying advice?
  13. I would have preferred an XC15 design with the tilt screen. I don't understand why they did not just make it look like a video camera. As it is it looks rather awkward. A rotating grip would have been great to have. A bigger battery would have gone a long way to negate the need for rigging.
  14. From what I've seen the difference in video IQ is negligible. However, the X-T3 is a hybrid... the P4K is not. So in that regard it depends on if you plan to also shoot stills. I do both and recently picked up a strobe kit for the X-T3. Is this an option for the P4K?... It doesn't even have a hotshoe. The P4K is NOT A HYBRID... whereas the X-T3 is. So the real question is... do you want an hybrid or not?
  15. Oh look, it's another slowmo video.
  16. Yes, unlike the P4k the X-T3 has no IBIS. It has to make do with lens stabilization only. Oh wait, the P4k doesn't have IBIS either... and the OIS does not work well on the P4k? I guess that makes it doubly useless of video?
  17. Sensor crop aside, these are F1.2 lenses, not F1.8. Crop does not mean these are somehow not what they are designed to be. Stick the Fujinon lens on a full frame camera and you would indeed see it is F1.2 not F1.8. Conversely, put one of those full frame Sony lenses on a Sony APSC sensor camera and tell me if the F1.8 is still giving the same DOF as it does on the full frame model? Now I understand that the Fujinon lenses are designed for use with APSC/S35 cameras. But this does not change the fact that it cost more to produce a true F1.2 lens than it does to produce an F1.8 lens. Bokeh: If the lemon shaped bokeh that the Sony lens puts out is good enough for you then congratulations... you can save a boat load on your lenses. Also the AF test was done with the Fuji at 400 iso vs the full frame Sony at 800? He seems to double the ISO for all of the Sony lenses look here or here ... or here for example. Hmmm? Could it be he's getting more money by referring would be chumps erh buyer to purchase Sony gear in his affiliate links? Hmmm? Hey maybe I'm confused... Sony makes an APSC lens that is F1.2? Really? Which lens is that? You say they make an F2.8 constant aperture 50-140? What was that model number again? Hmmm... that's what I thought.
  18. The thing I love about the X-T3 is it is also a great stills camera.
  19. The P4k seems to always warm the image. Pale skin becomes tan. Don't think I've seen any footage where this was not the case.
  20. They skipped FF and choose instead to go with medium format. Where are the Medium format offerings from Canon, Sony and Panasonic etc... ?
  21. I'll revisit canon when they have a 1DXMK2 replacement... and if it is amazing. Panasonic, and Fuji are the ones to watch closely right now. ?never thought I'd be including Fuji in that statement.
  22. All of the IBIS systems I have seen to date seem to occasionally introduce a weird warping effect into the footage. It is unpredictable and can often times ruin otherwise great shots. I just prefer to have more control. If something it going to go wrong when I'm filming, I want it to be my fault... that way I have the power to fix it.
  23. I agree... Nikon are asking top dollar for the Z7... so it has to perform on all fronts... without exception. Canon... well it’s clear they really didn’t want to make a mirrorless full frame camera. I believe this is the hidden message with the Eos R. Don’t get me wrong... if it had been flagship material I would have picked up a body or two. But in the end it left me unimpressed.
