FUJIFILM has already stated they are skipping straight to medium format. I would love some new more film emulations with grain added in camera.

Imo, the MKX lens series shows a commitment to video that few others have shown. Certainly Fujifilm is taking video very seriously. I'm hoping for some more film simulations with grain added so I can skip that step in post.

C200 all the way. Much brown in the skin tones on the P4K in this footage. Granted that's the grade most likely... but I think it's not that hard to tell them apart.

I scored a FotodioX Flapjack C-318RLS for $100 bucks shipped. They run for around $300 usually. Build is all metal and of high quality. Comes with a nice case also.

That's only if you are shooting where power is unavailable... like outdoors. However, when outdoors that 1000 nit brightness of the Ninja V is surely handy. Should weight or bulk be of concern, I leave the Ninja V... but other than that, it's a good pairing with this camera. I view it as no different than when I shoot outdoors with the GH5 or GH5S... or 1DXMK2 for those cameras I would often attach a SmallHD Focus so I could view what I was filming in bright light. Size and weight is similar. Really, more often than not, the added weight is not why I chose to leave external monitoring... it usually comes down to a desire to be discreet.

I went primes for photo lenses. They are generally faster. Also, I wanted parfocal for video and minimal breathing. Some of the Fuji photo lenses have noticeable focus breathing. It becomes apparent when the subject is seated, but rocking back and forth while speaking. The MKX lenses do not suffer from this problem. The MKX will see duty with my Tilta Nucleus M. When using a manual lens the Tilta can auto calibrate. Which is a serious time saver. I'm certain the 16-55 is a solid choice. But for me I wanted a bit more speed. At T2.9 it's roughly equivalent to a 2.1 f-stop. I can tell right off the bat that this lens possesses the illusive quality we call "mojo". ?

I think I might be becoming a Fuji fan. The XT3 is the first Fuji camera I have owned, and I'm left wondering how they kept under my radar for so long. It's honestly one of the most fun to shoot cameras I have ever used. So much so that I don't care about any of the upcoming cameras... they don't excite me. That might change as more details come out, but for now I'm curious what the XH2 will bring, while the new medium format beast... the GFX-100 sounds very interesting also. I heard recently that Fuji have become the number two mirrorless brand worldwide. After seeing how aggressive they are with the advancements in this newest offering, I can't say I'm surprised.

I think FOV would be a better indicator.

I mean compared to cinema lenses. They generally don’t bother with 35mm equivalents.

From a quick play... salivating makes total sense. This lens is ever bit as good as you have heard. Important note for anyone thinking of picking one up. Remember that the focal range is as marked... no need to multiply by 1.5. So 18-55mm is really 18-55mm.

Hope to make some time to play with this bad boy we just added to the collection. Also picked a second body and another Ninja V. I think these cams play nice as B-cams to the C200. Moreso than the 1DXMK2... if that makes sense.

I still think if you want proven and reliable video centric performance the GH5/S is hard to beat. If you shoot a decent amount of stills the X-T3 gets the nod. At this point any perceived difference in IQ is negligible.

It will definitely be a problem if you ever shoot scenes with neon signs.

Nothing to see there... not even great for a smartphone.
-
Nothing wrong with the GH5S. It has great battery life, anamorphic modes, duel card slots, codec which is easy on your computer, lenses are fully supported, great build quality and backed by a three year warranty.

The 56mm f1.2 is not the quickest focusing for video, but for photos it's amazing. Compared to some of the other brands I'll stand by my statement.

Do X-T2 cases fit the X-T3? I really like the look of these.
-
Why, because I'm not a pro shooter? Because I can't shoot? I've seen a lot of pro work... and I have eyes. Let me ask you this, do you need to be a chef to know when a steak taste good?

Blown highlights a plenty in this video. And while stylized... the colors look crap.

So the Product Manager would have no idea what is going on with his product? I somehow think he would be in the loop.

And there would be your mistake, because the P4k will require more resources to actually shoot nice footage. FYI: when I was at NAB I asked the Panasonic rep about ProRes Raw... and he said it could be added as a firmware update if they felt the need to up the ante should the P4k threaten the GH series. So don’t be surprised if that happens. Also Atomos and Apple are busy trying to convince camera manufacturers to get onboard with their new format.

I wouldn’t go that far. But whatever advantages it may have comes at the expense of some important functionality when operating alone. Many discount the need for such features with the excuse that it’s a cinema camera. But cinema cameras generally use cinema lenses with distant markings that are used in conjunction with position marks on the set so that focus can be set beforehand. How many P4k users will be doing this? That’s just one example, but needless to say many of these features on hybrid cameras exist to make the task of capturing the shot plausible for a single operator. Don’t worry most will never get those shots. The skills and crew required will keep such imagery safely out of reach of most. Goggle Red Raven footage and get ready for a feast of out of focus shots?
