There's no hate of BM... At least not from me. I have owned many BMD products so I speak as one of their customers. But I am sure you would agree that it is good practice in business as well as life to under-promise and over deliver as opposed to the opposite? And I'm sure we can all agree, that this whole "global shutter" thing, is really gonna look like egg on the face for BMD, should Kinefinity deliver on the promise of switchable shutter... when BMD failed to do so.

Maybe we need a petition?

As someone with my 1DX Mkii order in, I can tell you my main gripe is the omission of c-log. Clearly this was a deliberate omissions, and a major disappointment, considering even entry level Nikons include a log profile. Seriously Canon... with a list price of $6400... no c-log? WTF?

Strange, we returned the Dracast due to very noticeable patterning. So strong it created a Venetian blind effect... even when defused. We have not noticed this at all on any of our LS1-C'S. And it is something we were specifically looking for with a very critical eye. Perhaps it's your lights?
-
I think calling Aputure the Blackmagic of lighting is an insult to Aputure... as Aputure actually deliver working products within a timely fashion;-) That said, I own the LS1-c's and can confirm that they DO NOT exhibit any of the patterning that most bi-color lights do. I attribute this to the unique honeycomb arrangement of the leds. Put simply, the LS1-c's rocks!

True... I also was hoping for more in the way of 10-bit. Still all was not bad. Looking forward to the 1DX mkii... was that at the show? Also footage from the Terra 5k and 6k. While the sensor may be the same as the kinemax 6k, there are sure to be other differences.
-
To be fair, we have yet to see any footage from the new Terra cameras. Perhaps once footage is out interest will pickup?

Someone better tell these guys...

Don't know about the Pilotfly H2 as I have never used one, but from the footage I have seen from the X5r, I would say at a more attractive price it would be doable. Personally, I would lean towards the BMMCC with a gimbal as a more compelling choice. And FYI: I do own the Osmo.

Yeah, I recall seeing the article on Cinema5d, strange that they decided to pull it.

Well that's a mighty wordy assessment from someone that's never met me. Fyi: the only evidence I needed that they... Kinefinity was, shall we say "stretching the truth, was their claims to be prores approved, when in fact they were not. Apple does not list them on their website. Once I know that a company has lied, we'll my skepticism increases. Especially when I'm considering dropping $9k with them. Your free to be as trusting as you like with your cash, and I will do likewise. And as for showing unfinished product, it's poor form. Making claims when you don't yet have the goods is duplicitous. Yeah, we can expect global shutter... I've heard that one before. And now we learn they have not actually figured that part out yet. Hmmmm... ? Say what you will about Apple, Samsung and all the other major players, but they didn't get to be major players because they didn't know what they were doing. There's a word for products that promise the world, but lack those key features that they promised. .. VAPORWARE. I'll believe it when I see it. Those with a well established reputations need prove less upfront. But Kinefinity, Blackmagic etc... are not there yet. Nuff said.
-
Wow do you know this?
-
So Kinefinity are gods? I remain skeptical:-)
-
I sort of agree. Still, it's hard to make any sort of decision without having seen anything from the 5k version... after all, this is a brand new sensor.
-
Seems the 6k camera has a dynamic range of 14 FS, whereas the 5k is 15 FS (8:27).
-
How did it feel in hand? And did you get the take any video with it? Menu? How long is the battery life? And what about their monitor? And didn't they have a handle/battery grip?
-
Fyi: It's $9k for the Terra 6k Pro Pack. I think a lot of the folks that have nothing but praise also really are not potential customers. People seriously considering this camera will be discriminating. And QC is very important as it is directly tied to reliability.
-
Sorry, I'm in the office so I can't watch the videos.

He'said right. If using prores with Adobe CC in Windows you need QuickTime. Does FCP have a Windows version? Is FCP Adobe CC? Seems someone went to the wrong forum.
-
Ok, it looks cool. But those pictures look like renders. Has anyone seen a real camera? Also, 13 stops of dynamic range is not amazing when compared to the competition. Points for the global shutter... if it happens. Will definitely keep an eye on them to see how things progress.
-
Clearly, you don't get it. Skepticism doesn't mean I won't by, it means I'm seriously considering, but need assurance before I plunk down my $9k.

Aren't Batis fly by wire?

No really, people have been doing pretty much this same thing for quite some time:
