Voigtlander 40mm f2. As Salim said, I "see" in that focal length.

In similar vien that's why I kinda want my D750 back. While not 4K, it had great motion cadence, and a look I loved. When I see a used one for $750 I will purchase.

Cant do away with a Full Frame sensor at this point, I've fallen in love with the aesthetic.

Honestly really makes me want to rebuy a D750 and shoot in 1080p.

Now available - EOSHD Pro Color V4 HDR for Sony A7 III and A7R III
Geoff CB replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
There is no installation, it's just specific settings in camera to achieve the look. Made a quick Comparison between S-LOG 3, GFILM, and EOSHD HDR. Love the results right out of camera with this. SLOG 3 just straight up breaks, GFILM still breaks but less so, and EOSHD seems to show the least compression. I've been leaning more on getting the image right in camera and not in post, and am heavily leaning towards this profile unless I'm using an external recorder. -
I pretty much shoot 4K for good 1080p content. The short I shot on the Ursa 4.6K I was shot at 4.6K scope 4:2:2 I wish I had shot in 2K 4:4:4 instead. Especially with a 2K DCP delivery. Color and motion over Resolution every time.

My advice is bite the bullet and pay for a A7III. I had a A7r II and moved to the A7 III. It's better in every single way except for megapixels. The video is better, the video autofocus is better, the body is more ergonomic, the batteries last more than twice as long (especially for 4K recording), the lowlight, the ability to record to 2 cards simultaneously. It is a far superior camera in every way. I avoid the A6300/A6500 due to the horrible rolling shutter on those cameras and the smaller body.

I want to echo what others have said, haven't fully tested it yet but the HLG settings give a great look straight out of camera. -
A7III Overheating and OEM vs Aftermarket Sony NP-FZ100
Geoff CB replied to scotchtape's topic in Cameras
Turn off lens corrections, that extra processing power might be causing it. -
I had a friend that had the C100 and loved it. He really wanted to love the C200 but he hated the look, said it didn't have the same "mojo" and also had issues with noise.

Don't forget sony's new 18-135mm, variable aperture but great range. I really do not like the 18-105, so much distortion corrected by software and the zoom rocker is way to slow. Would rather have the dedicated zoom ring of the 18-135. I would love to see how this performs on an A7 III. Interested in how that performs! Take some photos as well

The highest compliment I can give is the man clearly has a consistent vision and usually says something with his narrative. Antichrist was riveting to me from start to finish. Films like human centipede, which are clearly made just to shock and offend don't get as strong a reaction, which to me is because Von Trier films are more impactful and well made.

Does not overheat, unfortunately it still has the 30 minute record limit.

I do want to stress again that the S-log 3 in this camera is actually usable. My A7rII's log files were extremely noisy, A7III is pretty damn clean up until 3200 iso.
-
I'll actually echo jonpais on this one. Most of those shots are harsh direct lighting and the white balance was off on the Fuji.
-
I'm very surprised about how much I prefer the Sony in those videos, though the WB of the Fuji definitely seems off for a lot of it and may be swinging the results for me. Really the fact that they are so close is what is impressive.
-
Just got mine, the biggest advantage I have coming from the SONY A7r II is how much cleaner the image is in SLOG2/SLOG3, and at high- ISO.
-
A7 III. Color is great (Better than the a7rII/A7sII), battery life is great, ergonomics are fantastic now. Its fast and responsive and while the menus still suck you can set the camera how you want. Still quality is insane. Lowlight is incredible. Best option for adapting your existing lenses in my opinion.

Went back and forth on the two. But want to try to get back into event photography and need the 2.8. I'll probably get the 18-135 as a great general purpose zoom soon

For those who are interested the Tamron 28-75 2.8 is now on preorder. $800 for a 28-75 in E-mount seems like a hell of a deal. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1393332-REG/tamron_a036_28_75mm_f_2_8_di_iii.html

This lens is a hundred dollars off this week, might grab it for that amount...

D750 is magic. I want it back.
-
Its really sad that My A7r II that I sold my NX1 and D750 for is worth about new D750 at this point
-
Yeah I'm pretty upset my A7r II never received the "my menu" option. I've stuck with sony instead of fuji mainly due to sensor size and RS.
