  1. I don't have the 75, but I do have the 58mm 1.4 and 90mm f3.5
  2. Threw this together this morning. Settings in description.
  3. The 30mm f2 is actually very good. However it's AF is sub par. If you can make it work for the space, the 45mm is the way to go.
  4. It's my favorite lens ever made. Will post sample for you later today.
  5. I have the voightlander 28, 40, and 90mm. They along with the nikon Ai-S are great on the NX1. For me though the S lenses are fantastic, very sharp, great look, amazing AF, and stabilized. Both are going for under a grand on the used market right now.
  6. Great suggestion, I use it often. I will send them an email.
  7. Good luck on your fundraiser Mattias! Might want to add pictures of rear elements in your ebay photos
  8. Go with whatever look you prefer. That rokinon kit is definitely not a bad option.
  9. Price is stupidly expensive for the apparent quality. I agree with what others have said above, once you get in this price bracket your competing with the big boys like Cooke and Angenieux for rentals, and the cost is to close for anyone to choose these over those more professional choices.
  10. Voigtlander 40mm f2 is my favorite. Incredible rendering, smooth focus, and very small. Takes anamorphic adapters very well and remains sharp wide open with the adapter. If I could only use one of my current lenses for the rest of my life this would be it. 147_DSC4968 by Chatham Orpheum Theater, on Flickr Josh Keshner does excellent work with this lens and the SLR Magic anamorphic adapter: https://www.flickr.com/photos/kesnerster/ My dream lens is not out yet, but I love how Cooke renders skin tones so their upcoming 35-180 2x anamorphic makes me feel like a kid. It's big, it's heavy, it's 100% cinema glass. http://www.cookeoptics.com/l/anamorphic-zoom-lens.html EDIT; Actually I just want a Cooke 40mm T2.3 Anamorphic and I'll be set.
  11. Get a 750w to be safe and future proof your rig. For your setup 420W is way WAY to low. The GTX 970 can draw 300w under load by itself, not including the power needed for the CPU and drives!
  12. I love that lens. I've seriously regretted selling my copy when I went to Nikon Full Frame, will get another one day.
  13. It's a contrast based AF system, it struggles with flat tones. But more that the lens you are using is bad AF. The best AF lenses for NX1 are 16-50 S, 50-150 S and 45mm f1.8.
  14. God I wish they had kept the 2.5K mode. Hope it can be enabled, would it be possible to buy a NX500 and test this?
  15. This is false, the NX1 like most modern mirrorless have a mechanical shutter that prevents the rolling shutter artifact. You can see the rolling shutter when you shoot in silent mode on cameras like the A7s which reads the data off the sensor, but in regular mode it is not there.
  16. Or maybe using non-native glass doesn't guarantee you the best image quality. Saying that Sony came up with code to specifically make third party glass image quality worse in photo and video is ridiculous. Also it's not bad in this image, only when he crops to extreme lengths the lens wasn't even designed for does it become evident.

Really low price on the Tokina (Angenieux) 28-70 2.6-2.8 here $275: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1410593
  18. I have it on my computer, plays back H265 DCI 4K in real time so I assume it is.
  19. GTX 960 4gb version, it has a H265 decoder built into the card.
  20. You can freely adjust the framing of the sensor crop. Which I really like, would be useful for anamorphic shooting my SLR magic and would really help for event coverage.
  21. WOW. This is incredibly impressive. This actually may be my next camera. ND, great codec, 4K, seemingly decent rolling shutter performance. Active zoom would be incredibly impressive. Need to rent to see if I can get the color where I want it and see how it looks with my lenses. "Samsungs look pretty boring without some care" I disagree with this though
  22. Uprez it to 120 mbps in CBR (constant bitrate) 1440p then upload it. This will give you better results.

Going to be pretty hard to find for under $500. Nikon 20mm f1.8 is what immediately comes to mind.

It's a completely different optical design with different coating. It's a worse lens that is not worth the savings. That test is comparing the Tokina to the Angenieux zoom, it's not a comparison between the two Tokina lenses.
  25. Specifically the 2.6-2.8. It's cheap, built well, parfocal, non-breathing, has a cinematic image (based on Angénieux design) that covers a good focal length range.
