  1. Who needs color grading when the colors look this great straight out of camera? Great video, fun pacing and nice shots. Did you use the OIS stabilizer or just the lens stabilizer?
  2. I can echo this, blacks are crushed. I've set the camera to 16-255 to fix it, but I would prefer not needed to.
  3. Perfect, wanted to give them a try on my settings, great job!
  4. Fotasy Adapter $15 - Cheap and works fine on Non-G lenses, very slight amount of play fotodiox $30- Better fit than the fotasy, new version doesn't have the issue with lens detected as not mounted. Best option, and only one for G lenses $300 : Novoflex NX/NIK Lens Adapter Have not given any of the ebay G adapters a try.
  5. I'll give it a try and get back to you.
  6. Windows 8.1 SDD Work drive Intel i7-5820K @3.30Ghz 16 gb RAM Nvidia GTX 960 4gb (might be the h265 chip on this card)
  7. Actually playback is better for me than ProRes. It may be because my card (GTX960) has a H265 decoder in it.
  8. Playback is smoother than with 4K ProRes even with adjustments. This is amazing.
  9. *SCREAMS IN JOY* Downloading now, hope playback speed is okay.
  10. I'm dying for the H265 Premiere update, it was supposed to be the Fall update and we are almost in December already!
  11. Also guys keep in mind even if you leave the contrast a 0 in vivid you can still raise the black level to keep shadow detail.
  12. Huh, just did a quick test of vivid, it certainly looks great out of camera. I'm used to a "vivid" that has horrid colors and contrast cranked to 10.
  13. The A6000 has very good 60p if you want to stick with Sony.
  14. Not my test but interesting settings. One of the things that I think seems to be happening is that if you reduce contrast or increase black level to much you get banding in the colors. However, color get back to proper levels if you decrease saturation alongside decreasing contrast.
  15. Love it! Looks very clean on the highlights.
  16. Curious what peoples settings are for the NX1. I've been hearing some say they only shoot in Gamma C which surprises me. I know that Andrew's log solution is also a great one. This is the one that I have found personally excellent.
  17. 1) Cineform 2) Better Rolling Shutter Performance 3) LOG Profile and I am set.
  18. 1) Don't ever shoot it above ISO 800, turns to absolute mush past that point. 2) Don't shoot with flat settings, in other words don't go past +6 black level or -4 contrast.
  19. Unless you are shooting for cinema, use the UHD setting. It does indeed give you better results. However the difference is minuscule. However some like myself prefer a slight bit of softening (for interviews), so in that case the DCI 4K option is there for you.
  20. The NX1 does not offer a clean output to 1080p, with the amount of trials I had to try and get it to work on the Ninja Blade I should know. Are you sure that it's not doing downconversion through the HDMI as well? Or can you only moniter the video in 1080p mode and it doesn't need a clean signal like the Blade?
  21. Aside from the D810, best 1080p image money can buy. Great DR, very little RS, astounding low light, and amazing colors.
  22. Wow am I sick of hearing this, until Samsung announces this it is just a unfounded rumor. Samsung is one of the biggest tech giants in the world which supposedly had great sales with the NX1. Why would they close up shop?
  23. http://blogs.adobe.com/premierepro/2015/09/premiere-pro-cc-ibc.html Confirmed! Thank god, and now it make the NX1 an even more serious contender. No more converting to huge prores files, just the original small awesome quality files! EDIT: It's also awesome they are supporting DNxHR, much prefer how it handles color over prores.
  24. Thank god! Incredible that Samsung keeps updating this camera, probably the best bang for buck camera you can buy.
  25. Wow, very impressed with cliptoolz. Ran fine for me and very fast conversion. Best part is the size conversion tools. I rarely need full 4K, especially for projects I'm finalizing in 1080p, I just tested entering in 2880x1620 under prores 4K in the initial conversion and it kicks out 3K files that work great in premiere! NICE!
