Blackmagic Micro Cinema vs Studio Camera - What are the differences?
Geoff CB replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Does the Micro Cinema camera do 2k? All I need to know is if it does 2048x1080. -
Please PLEASE have the ability to record 1080p from a 4K source!
-
Absolute insanity. Expect IMAX frame size in the next one. Would be great if this camera did Super 16 in 3K
-
If it gives a good image, holy god this will be a popular camera.
-
Why not just sell the 100mm APO then? That should be enough for the Sigma and metabones adapter. Keep the 19 and 60mm.

New Blackmagic Cinema Camera and URSA Mini 4.6K, 15-stops
Geoff CB replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Expecting Cfast on the MINI URSA, but hope they have the option to record 2k or 3K in prores to SD or Compact Flash cards -
Keep them and save for the sigma on the used market. Your not going to get the same results at all visually with the Sigma, and if you sell those primes and regret it, you will have a difficult time finding them again. I've kept my Nikon prime set and slowly built up a set of tokina zooms. Completely different look to both of them. 4 of my current lenses I've owned, sold, then purchased again. With a heavy loss ~$1200 compared to if I just kept them and waited to buy what I wanted. At the very least rent the Sigma and Metabones for a day to try it out before you buy!

New Blackmagic Cinema Camera and URSA Mini 4.6K, 15-stops

So the lens mount camera is the sequel to the pocket camera? That's awesome, better than giving us a bad moniter that no one uses they just jettisoned the monitor to lower cost and increase battery efficiency. Smart move. EDIT: Also think ATOMOS and other external moniter/recorder manufacturers are going to love the business that this thing brings to them. -

Well, that's impressive. Here's hoping for good/global rolling shutter. -
KineMAX review part 1 - adventures in 6K raw and 110fps slow-mo
Geoff CB replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yeah I don't think I would shoot anything at 6K uncompressed, storage would be insane. But I think the Golden 3K Cineform would strike the perfect balance in terms of detail, edit ability, and space/quality ratio. -
KineMAX review part 1 - adventures in 6K raw and 110fps slow-mo

When I can afford it, this will be my next camera. One important thing though, hows the rolling shutter on it Andrew? Better than the KineMINI? EDIT: The number one thing that has me curious though is that 16-stop golden 3K. If the image is at the same level in cineform RAW like it says on their site that is the ideal workflow size. -
Okay I have to say this, Alexa files look amazing straight out of camera. You don't need to grade it to fix the skin tones on every shot like you do with the A7s. Skin tone is the most important thing to a good image for narrative, and the A7s is terrible at it. It has amazing features, but this is a weakness. Also, this does not just go for S-log, the other profiles have the weird skin tone as well. It's the "Sony Look" that I just don't like.

I love that H265 is both positive and negative
-
I'd guess a C300 using a slightly lower than normal shutter speed. Edit: Looking at it full screen, yeah it's a 5D Mark 3, not that sharp+canon colors+no moire.

Do you have a source on this?
-
Wish it was the flat profile for the older cameras. Oh well, used to being disappointed by them.

Is there any proof? Did he admit to it? Or are we just participating in a witch hunt? We live in a time where a reputation can be destroyed by one accusation and I would be very hesitant to publically shame the man until we have more information. If I'm wrong and it's true, I will no longer have respect for Philip and hope he and the victims get help. I hope it's false.
-
YES! At the very least that means that Media Encoder/Prelude support it. Cannot wait. Just got the GTX 960 with on board H265 decoding, really hope it's fully supported in the next update.
-
Um, it still might be in the new update. Just because it's not listed in the major new features doesn't mean it won't be added. Usually we don't get a full list until it's actually in the wild. Loving what I am seeing with the new Color adjustments in premiere though!

Doesn't dissapear, but you need to activate it every time you record with 3rd party lenses.
-
It's limited to 30 fps.
