  1. Give it a try, saw a sample video taken with it online and it looked gorgeous.
  2. I'm still looking for a good adapter for Nikon G lenses (Like your Sigma 18-35). The cheap ones have horrible reviews and the only professional one is the $300 Novoflex, which I am very close to purchasing. There seems to be no options in between!
  3. Really praying for H265 support in Adobe for my NX1

    5d mark 3

    Great price, go for it.
  5. Yikes... well there goes that B-cam.
  6. This was shot on the Regular Cinema Camera, no global shutter, just clean motion.
  7. You can get the Mir 24n and Helios 44 in nikon mount, or you can do an exchange them online with someone willing to switch mount types.
  8. Hmcindie & MattH & Andrew You all are very much correct, apologies for the tech assumption on my part. MattH, Yes I did sound a bit to much like a Fox News correspondent there..yikes. :/
  9. There is moire on the NX1, but very little. Better than the D800, A7, A7r, A7 II, 7D, and 5D Mark 2. It's there but minimal, and there are no color artifacts (rainbow pattern) like the horrid moire from the A7 and D800.
  10. Ohhh your right, the 4K crop will be near 16mm spec. 4K with 16mm zoom lenses
  11. I completely disagree with MattH & Ebrahim Saadawi. If you have to read less lines of the sensor to produce a frame, the rolling shutter will be better. Period. As for the feature, it would be a welcome one. The setting should be in industry standard DCI scope format: 4096×1716 EDIT: I am extremely mistaken in this assumption, apologies to MattH.
  12. I like the samsung Series of cameras. However, m43 has far more wide angle options than the Samsung mount. The widest lens is 12mm or in the 4K mode on NX500 about or about a 35mm Full Frame Equivalent. With no speedbooster. That is horrific in terms of wide angle options.
  13. http://www.musthd.com/products/56-inch-musthd-1280800-on-camera-field-monitor-with-hdmi-input-focus-assistance-exposure-76.html You can grab one on Amazon, tons of features and affordable.
  14. That is a shame, though I do hope they give it to us as an option in the NX1.
  15. This. If 1080p is good enough for you I would wait and see what the NX500 is like. If it has the same 120p as the NX1, it would be perfect for your skateboard vids. Keep in mind, the conversion process is just a temporary hurdle, the major editors should support it in the upcoming months.
  16. The NX1 currently has a audio gain issue. It's workable, but only if you have a signal booster going into it. If you can afford the YAGH interface and are used to Panasonic, that is probably the route you should take at the moment. The other option is wait and see if the issue gets fixed the the next firmware update on the NX1 (they have been frequent so far). However, even with it fixed, the GH4 with YAGH interface will give you far more options and higher quality audio.
  17. Having used the NX1 extensively in 1080p for a Doc, I can say that it is excellent. DR and Detail are not up to the level of the A7s, but it's much better than the D800 and the A6000 that I own. The complete lack of RS is a huge advantage to it, and the colors are perfect to my eye. It is NOT a low light camera though. Past ISO 1280 it not only adds noise but drops detail. Certainly the A7s is far superior in this regard. @lafilm The NX1 actually is more detailed in UHD mode, because it's downconverting a 6.5K image to 4K in camera, this is the reason the Rolling shutter is worse in the NX1 in 4K mode. Its way more detailed than the A7s in Super 35 crop, because the A7s is upscaling to get to 4K in that.
  18. Do not go to Full Sail. I went there for Digital Art & Design, the film program does not have the best reputation. Worse though is that there is not enough jobs available in orlando for the volume of film students in the area (UCF & Valencia are both less than a mile away) and you will have to move to out of the area if you want to find work. Also the tuition is insane, I believe it's currently +$90,000 for 2 years. Those two New York ones are great, and there is a bigger film making community in the area. UCLA is also excellent, but hard to get into their film program.
  19. Yeah the NX1 has the worst rolling shutter of the 3. In terms of "Film Look" I think the blackmagic wins as well. Also in the first shot with the NX1 you see less information in the cloudy sky, definitely need to protect the highlights in the camera. Also don't know what each of the camera's were set at for the test, would like to get more specifics.
  20. You can clearly see the extra detail in the NX1 images. Also the red tile on the Panasonic is orange!
  21. Though I have to say it says a lot about the state of things that people will take the word of a attendee at a meeting to the point of them cancelling their preorder. Has anyone tried contacting Samsung directly on this issue or seen any official documentation?
  22. I actually hope it's not mentioned because the crop is an option in camera that was left on at that expo.
  23. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/samsung-nx500/samsung-nx500A.HTM "1080p resolution output via the HDMI port" I want this on the NX1 dammit! Other features not so promising (No mic Jack). However there is no mention that the 4k is cropped in this article.
