-
yes agreed maybe turn down the sharpening .

Found This says the shogun was used but not the best video to check for any quality testing. So the Nina Star can not be used for HD that sucks i was wanting to get that just for HD.

One of your best..Guess that was green screen a lot?

The drummers on the beach was not right out of the camera i did edit it and my editing and want i am doing it is not right. I am using one HP monitor to edit and view playback i have no HD tv hooked to it i have to save to a thumb drive to then take over to a TV to play back in another room.. This is not my house we are on Vacation so i can not move things around much will be much better when i get back home next month. So yes i am sure i crushed it a lot i will see if i can find a unedited clip to post. '''''''''''''''''''' Just checked its gone i needed to open up more space.

I Think Edius will as Premiere seems to always come out with what Edius has after Edius has it out for some time. A lot of AVID and FCP users have moved to Edius as more and more stations more to full Edius use. I know they are talking about it as they have users that need it but for now you can edit the 4K in HQX and get real time playback till you add a lot of effects to it then it slows down. On the other side of things i was told you would need a very fast powerful system to handle it even if it was available most peoples systems would not be close to real time. I think it would be easy for any of them to add support for it but for it to work and be usable that's another story.

Oliver can you say what kind of lights you used for this video and others.I have been reading a lot about lights and it is such a wide range to pick from. Are you using LED lighting? So far i am leaning to a Ikan led kit to get started. something like this http://ikancorp.com/productdetail.php?id=1003 or some Flolights http://www.flolight.com/

I shot this some time back and just got around to getting it done. This was using the original NX1 firmware shot in 4K edited down to HD. Lens used are Samsung 16x50, Nikon 24x120 F4 and 100x300 F4. I had no ND filter for any of the Nikon lens so that was very high F stops on a very bright day out. Most all the war shots are the 100x300 F4 This was a lot of fun to shoot and edit together it was not a paid gig just something to do.

You can buy ND filters that work better then the in camera ones for very little i use one all the time and can dial it in to what i want as i shoot or take it off, The NX1 is quite good in low light only one i can think of that is better is the Sony A7S that you need another $2000 to be able to record 4K with and still ND filters and XLR., A XLR adapter is only $ 200 to $300. DR dose not seems to be a problem with the NX1 at all. Rolling shutter can be a problem but it is a problem with other cameras as well in 4k and in HD it is not much of a problem at all. So for $400 you can out fit the NX1 with ND filter and XLR. and buy two of this setup for less or. Buy one of this set up and buy the Pocket version that will be out soon as a second camera and a smaller lower cost Gimble for it and more lens all for less then what you would pay for that $4500 so you would be able to shoot two cameras and have a gimble and more lens or more lights. That is the direction i am going in. Plus your image quality will be better. And your auto focus when you ever want to use it will be better. The Samsung 16x50 F 2 to 2.8 lens is a very sharp lens and gives you image stabilizing in video that work well, auto focus and focus on and off so you can punch in focus using the camera in a split second then lock that focus much faster then doing it manual or you can do it manual if you need to do a smooth focus from one item to another. Focus peaking also works very good when manual focusing a Samsung lens or other brand lens with adapter on it. It focus so well i sent back the Fallow focus set up i had got for a refund. Touch focus on the back screen and it will focus on anything you touch on very good for product or in studio shooting or a live event you need to focus on different things fast it is like having hard stops but on anything you want at any time. You can touch focus and then press a manual focus on to lock that focus in. Lots of cool things this camera can do people do not talk about. You could have the camera on a tripod and be shooting a band or anything and touch focus on any member at any time as you wish with no manual focus needed. The auto focus for flowing a person walking is quite good even with them coming at you. When you want to lock focus on something it is so easy letting the camera do the focus and then locking that focus over doing it manual you can go from one item to the next auto focus lock focus very fast this would be very hard to do manual. Only down side is the file converting time but you get used to it. I have recorded well over 100 hours now with it. Battery life is ok to.

I know on some of my videos i was outside with a 100x300mm lens in the wind and the tripod was jittering some from the wind vibrating it but only on a few of them. Other then that i do not see that at all.

With that file all i had to do with it was drop it into a folder called Plugins with in VDub for it to work they have a 32 or 64 bit version i have used both using the 64 now. Looking to buy this video card next that says it dose it in real time but not sure if this will help me or not for the NX1 files to be converted what do you think?. http://us.hardware.info/reviews/5890/test-the-geforce-gtx-960-is-the-best-htpc-gpu-of-this-moment Will your program work for NX1 files to Prores fast right now i would rather have HQX but if i can do Prores very fast that would good. also with a setting for smaller sizes i am using a smaller file size and see no loss and it saves a lot of HD space. Keep a eye out for TMPGE MW6 It is out in Japan and should out all over soon. I am told this will be the fix for all this as you can pre edit your clips before converting them to save time and HD space and it dose many other things as well.. Here is Version 5 6 adds in the new functions. http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/

I say do it..

One new feature in the update that seem useless is you can press a back button you set up and the iso pops up on the back screen when recording but is kind of useless as it pops up over the top of the exposure guide so how are you are going to set it with out seeing what to set it to? They need to make the back round dial two functions so you can click on one of the back arrows and the round dial is ISO then click again and it is audio levels. This was you can keep your F stop setting and shutter speed when shooting and bring up or down the ISO when needed. Let us map focus peaking to a button as it is right now when you have a finder covering the back screen you can not turn on and off the peaking to use it when shooting with a manual lens. Let us map the top of camera dial to video settings for C1 and C2.. so you can set up 1 as 4k video set like you want and C2 to a slomo setting for very quick change over when shooting. It would be so cool to be able to go from 4k to slomo in a half second and back for more creative shooting.

I shot this it shows how well the NX1 shows great details for different scenes. This was all at -8 sharpness.

Lighting is on my list for sure. I am on vacation till the end of the month when i get back i will be looking at and getting more lighting. I have a green screen area all painted at my house i used for photography so i need lights for that to i was very into off camera lighting for photography used a lot of them on the job and for on location portraits and know how that works out so i will be using what i know for video to i hate the look of the deer in the headlights look.. Also thinking if it will work a small lower cost gimble and the new pocket NX when it is out would be a good investment i could see using that a lot.

Here is a link i was gaven that has the HQX that i had to ad to VDub see if this helps i think it is the ffmpeg for HQX. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...0822%20x64.zip

That video makes the E-M5 II look very good for stabilization i would guess it is better then the NX1 but that video the GH4 looks so much better. I was shooting today thinking about this wishing i had the E-M5 II just to try out the stabilization i felt like i was getting shaky after some time so i went back to using a tripod. I tryed to drive and shoot holding the camer up into the froint window today - that did not work out i almost ran off the road into the water..lol I was the only on on the road.

Thanks i am shooting events like this to get myself back into shape shooting video and editing in a Tv production style. I hope to at some point come up with a tv show to try and get going. I produced 265 independent weekly TV show episodes back 20 years ago all by myself shooting SVHS then DV using a video toaster flyer nle. I would buy all my own air time and sell all my own commercials and get sponsors to make money then when the last show ended i sold everything moving into photography i have done since. I find it amazing what i can do now with video and just a PC. I had a room full of equipment back then. I remember rendering things for days at a time on a toaster 2000.

How do i get it do not see a link? Can you add in the ffmpeg for converting 265 to HQX for Edius use for my NX1 files I am using VDub right now for this i like it but it needs to let the user to grab over all clips at one time right now i have to move one clip at a time very slow when doing over 100 clips.

I think i have shot more with the NX1 then most people at lest posted the most at this point in Vimeo and i see no problem with highlights any more then any other camera i see video shot with and i have shot outside in very bright sunlight a lot. the new Sony FS7 that has more blown out highlights then what i am getting with the NX1 in videos people are posting.. Also grading has a lot to do with it some of mine that has some highlights blone are from the grading i used.. I think if you gave a NX1 to a few guys shooting on assignment around the world we would then see some amazing footage coming in from the NX1. As of right now it seems almost no one shooting pro making money is using a NX1 as they are all ready invested in another brand so we are not seeing some of the great footage we see from othera cameras. But give it some time and i am sure this will turn around some.
