So cap 4k at 5 minutes like the RX100IV or the upcoming Nikon. Fuji's big blunder was simply revealing its capable of 4k. The RX isn't suffering under a wave of negative reviews because of the limitation. The a6300 is getting hammered (and rightfully so) because the Sony junket testers said there was no overheating at all, but actual buyers are reporting shutdowns not only shooting video, but just using the camera for long periods while shooting stills or even while navigating the menus for long periods setting the camera up. Focus groups are a good way to make sure you have all the "must have" features covered, but will stifle innovation. As the Jobs quote says, you never know till you see it.

Hey Andrew, any chance for a ISO comparison with other cameras? Would like to see how the XP2 stacks up against others through its range. Details look great, movement looks very natural, not the Sony stutter look. Fuji is so close, a few more stabilized lenses and unlocked 4k would get me to buy two and sell everything else... Thanks in advance.

Either I have lost the plot or I am in love with the Fuji X Pro2

Any overheating issues with the XP2? How's the tracking AF when shooting video? -
Just cancelled my order. RS is already bad with my A7s and A7rII. I think I'm going to just sell the A7s and get theA7sII instead. Too bad because the face tracking samples line the Brandon Li video are flat out awesome. It could have been a contender.....

Any cityscape/landscape screen caps at golden hour you can share? I haven't seen anything like that yet with the XP2. Interested in how Xtrans handles a busy scene (an foliage that gave the 16mp bodies so many issues with stills) instead of shallow DOF stuff. I'm seriously thinking about getting one. Thanks. -
I linked to it elsewhere in this thread, otherwise it's a DPReview video.

Nice piece, the slow mo looks a little jittery at times. Edit: took a look at his blog, says he bumped the SS while shooting causing the funky motion. -
If you're going to use Sigma Art lenses, order the new Sigma EF-E mount adapter, it unlocks all AF functions on the A7rII and should do the same on the a6300.

If true that's kind of bunk. Disappointing. -

So close to getting one, looking forward to footage and a review. -
It can be, provided the stock PID's are tuned close to your camera/lens. I don't know if there's any way around making adjustments. I don't have a lot of experience like Dave Dugdale, Cheesycam and other reviewers. But I had a Defy G2 and now the Beholder DS1 and both require some tuning to get perfect. The H2 looks no different, they all use the same technology. The small gimbal motors are so sensitive to weight distribution and getting the balance right, otherwise you'll burn the batteries fast or get the dreaded vibrations.

It will also track someone walking while shooting with a gimbal as seen below on the A7rII. FF @ F/4, looks pretty good on my 4k monitor. With the AF points more dense because of the smaller sensor, I'd expect the a6300 to be even more precise. I rarely shoot without a tripod, monopod or now a gimbal after getting the DS1 - so most of the handheld jitters are a non issue for me. YMMV. And here's another test with the camera moving behind obstructions and the face detect locks pretty quickly when it pops back out

Great examples of AF face tracking Forgot free shipping takes a few days when I ordered, still waiting on my camera to arrive. Grrrr.... Also curious if the LCD dims after hitting record like my A7rII.

The police shot looks so good, thanks for sharing, thus has been a wealth of info, it sold me on adding a G7 to my kit. Please follow up when the production is wrapped so we can see the final result. Cheers chris

So far the upcoming Sigma adapter is the only one that can track with adapted lenses:

Fuji says no 4k on the Xpro2, you'll have to wait for the XT2 and hope they figure out how to reduce moire looking at Xpro2 samples.

What's a better option for $1000? What's crippled on the a6300?

One is available today, one is available tomorrow, one is available..... Love what Blackmagic is doing, just don't have the patience anymore to wait for a camera that was announced almost a year ago and was originally supposed to ship a few months after. They do this every year, wish they would just announce less and deliver more.

I use one all the time for fill on faces during interviews. At expos and festivals the light is really uneven, on cam fill smooths things out and cuts the harsh shadows from mostly overhead lights, flattering your subject. It's also helps to separate your subject from the background a bit. Something like this does a great job. http://www.amazon.com/YONGNUO-YN300-III-Temperatur-Adjustable/dp/B00RJSTJ6C

I wonder if the new BM cameras that will surely be announced this year will delay the shipping of the Micro. Geez NAB is 5-weeks away.
-
Agreed. The a6300 is more detailed than the G7 IMO as well. I'll take 12800 and 25600 over not having it at all too.

Fuji rumors says the 35/2 is one of a few lenses that takes full advantage of the new AF system, the others being the 16-55, 50-140, 100-400 and 90mm. Hopefully there will be a FW update to improve performance with other lenses - though with some it may require improved internals to boost speed. Got some moire on that shirt, check around 4:13 -
Still keeping my order, not encouraged by the RS numbers, but I love the 4k image so far and haven't seen anything too bad yet. IBIS really helps to mitigate RS with the A7rII compared to the A7s. But I'm not sure I want a camera with worse RS than the A7s, the handheld jello is hard to keep in check at times, even with stabilized lenses. Hmmm...
