There's very little Xpro2 footage in the wild, anything you can post is appreciated. Also, does is have any adjustment to the diopter? IIRC the XP1 needed to swap lenses. The Xt2 might be a better choice for me as I always need to adjust my EVF. Thanks.

What are you guys watching these clips on? I'm watching on a 4k monitor and the only moire in that clip is a tiny bit in the fence on the left between the buildings that's behind the palm trees and the big rock. The door is clean. And I'm not seeing any aliasing at all. For those that don't have a 4k monitor and keep talking about all the aliasing and moire, here are a few screen caps from youtube and vimeo, feel free to view them at full rez. http://s1081.photobucket.com/user/xchrisjoy/a6300%20frames/story

Is the majority online really idiots? (Ghostbusters Trailer)
The Chris replied to Mattias Burling's topic in Cameras
I thought Ghostbusters was a comedy. Just watched the original and Pt.2 last week, they were funny even though the sequel was an obvious cash grab. RIP Harold Ramis, was hoping they would get together for a Pt. 3 as it seemed like Murray was hinting about the possibility, but his passing meant that was never going to happen. Don't care about the gender of the cast, comedies should be funny. The trailer isn't funny at all and it looks like the reboot is exactly what I thought it would be -- Bridesmaids (not funny either) ripping off a classic. Melissa McCarthy = Adam Sandler to me, can't stand either one. I'll wait for the DVD on Netflix. Many of the comments are from morons, the anonymity of inter web strikes again. But this one was funny: "Sony next venture is telling the story of the black panthers...staring 4 white dudes" -
Sony 4D AF versus Canon Dual Pixel AF - the differences explained
The Chris replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I've seen "pros don't use touchscreens" posts all the time across forums, I think Sony is buying into that narrative. The a5100 has one and it works great - especially since all the E-mount AF lenses are fly by wire. It's frustrating shooting alongside the A7rII which lacks one, forcing you to constantly magnify the image to get focus. There are interviews floating around where they state it's an entry level consumer cam feature. I just got my first pair of glasses, my closeup vision is now slightly off. I can get the EVF adjusted properly with the diopter for now, but viewing on the LCD closer than about 18" is now tough for me without squinting or putting my glasses on, in which case everything beyond about 3 feet is blurred. I may need an external monitor just to see where I'm focusing so I don't have to juggle my glasses all the time. Or I'm moving to cameras with a touchscreen since everything I shoot is more run and gun. -
^^^beautiful job there

I'm sure it will since most rolling shutter cameras have it - as we've clearly seen in your wall of moire - but so far 4k looks pretty good. Hopefully you can get your hands on one to put it to the torture test.
-
If you're watching 4k on a HD monitor, then you will see crazy amounts of aliasing and moire. At 0:47 it looks clean to me. Make sure to click the image to get the full size.
-
I've only watched a few videos, the lack of aliasing stood out to me when watching on a 4k monitor. Power lines and all those intersecting lines are clean from these three videos. This is just part of the screen cap, not a full 2160p image, hopefully it can be viewed at full size.

A7rII in s35 mode? Reds looks Sony over saturated.

Not full of shit, but maybe I was a little harsh. 50% more pixels gives you quite a bit more detail and cropping abilities, that 16mp sensor is a couple generations behind the a6300's new sensor. The DR advantage is real, more latitude to move shadows and highlights, its easy to see in any of the image comparison tools - its not a wash. When you downscale a 24mp to 16mp the gap widens. The PADF in the a6300 is a significant upgrade over the a6000 (I have the a5100 and the A7rII), its tracking abilities are much better than anything DFD is capable of producing, and it works while shooting video. The LAEA3 opens up the A-mount and its great glass. You get native quality AF out of many Canon lenses with any of the AF adapters, and the new Sigma adapter looks even better than what currently available as AF-c is fully functional. When talking lenses with the a6300 and A7rII - the EF lens lineup is part of the mix and gives you more options than m43. There are lots of gems in the m43 lineup, but like every mount there's lots of mediocre lenses as well. There are certainly more than 3 great E-mount lenses. Batteries weigh 45g, its not an issue. I bought a GH4 to replace my a5100 and while the video was awesome, the stills were lacking for me - I shoot mostly natural light and the noise was just awful when boosting shadows. I kept the a5100. I'm still impressed by what I'm seeing out of the G7, I'm going to get one to shoot video as current prices make it a bargain. But I'm still getting the a6300 as its going to be a better stills platform for me. There are pros and cons of any system and we could argue about this forever, use what you like. Cheers

The pricey 35's are hard for me to justify with the sigma art down to about $600 used. The canon looks awesome with better bokeh, but is it worth 3x, not so sure.
-
DOF difference is one stop when going from FF to crop - you can always get it back with a focal reducer. Well the stills are shit on the G7 compared to the 24mp Sony sensor and the G7 lacks PADF, as an overall camera the a6300 is still much better. It also goes above 6400.
-
FW 3.0 eliminated overheating in the A7rII. If you can only get 10 minutes, there's something wrong with your copy.
-
A6300 looks more detailed, but at 6400 the G7 is incredibly clean. Impressive.
-
A first report on overheating, he says there's none and the camera is much cooler to the touch compared to the A7's.
-
Gonna look for a deal or a used body to try out. Andy you've sold me on giving the G7 a shot. Thanks for all the info in this and the other thread. Chris
-
Any significant differences between internal and external recording?
-
Andy, can you post some frames from any test shots? You've peaked my interest in the G7. That video maker test shows some crazy clean video at 6400, I'm impressed.

Fuji claimed when the Xpro2 was released the new processor can do full readout with 4k, but as we see from this they say people shooting with the ancient Xpro1 don't want video, so they didn't include it. Stupid strategy to segment (sell) the XT2.
-
Correct, no overheating with the A7rII since the 3.0 FW.
-
And then 6 months after the XT2 is released the Fuji cult will be singing the praises of that Kaizen bullshit when they add it via a FW update. It will be interesting to see what they can do with that goofy Xtrans array in 4k, one of the clips posted on DPR shows a lot of moire. If their claim of being able to do full sensor readout is true, there's hope. Love Fujis lenses, love the colors and I really dig little things like the joystick to move the AF point - if Fuji can get its video on par with the A7rII, I'd happily shift away from Sony and it ever bloated lens lineup. Fuji has all the primes and zooms I'd like to see in E-mount, but the insane focus on what's essentially a stills only body in 2016 is not doing them any favors. And I agree with moving beyond your existing customer base, what the point of building the same shit for people that are already in the X-mount ecosystem, new models should try to reach out to people that don't shoot Fuji, otherwise they run the risk of becoming Pentax.

The 18-105 is a great run and gun lens, its a good still lens too. The biggest negative is the distortion, but that's corrected in camera. Used prices make it a bargain and a must have if you're shooting Sony APS-c.
-
Fair enough, in the U.S. its $500 more. I've seen the complaints about Sony's European pricing with the a6300.
