think they are only HDMI in? If you wanna be wireless, you will need to go a similar route as drone usage.... 2.4ghz TX/RX monitor
-
As it stands, i think not... But hopefully someone will make an HDMI wifi stream gizmo.
-
You are working on the assumption that it is just a BMPCC with GS and 60p... There is every chance that they are using a new chipset that has increased rolling shutter and helped with other artefacts. The above video is a valid test and looks great too.

8k from the 1DC ii?.. 4k/60p from the 1DXii.?. From Canon? The same Canon we all know and sort of love but know move as fast as a 1 geared tank?
-
There has been some talk of a raw video "burst" too. That could be very interesting, for certain applications. I agree that 4K/60fps seems a bit optimistic. They might be wise to the fact that people buy the CXXX range for the video features though and would likely see the 1DX II as a B cam. We can only hope. I really don't think CXXX sales would drop much at all.

Great video and I think he really has nailed down a very close match. Arri just got it so right with the Alexa. No chasing crazy specs, just a pure image that can be matched to film... in a body that would be familiar to film shooters, but very easy to use for digital shooters. They fully deserve their place at the top.
-
I think something like that will happen at NAB, maybe in a BMCC style body with reduced frame rates. Shame we will then have to wait until 2017! Even though that is my dream camera, more or less, I kind of hope BM just focus on what they promised, last year, though.

Upcoming functions of Sony FS5 Firmware 1.2 (release date TBD)
Jimmy replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Internal raw could be amazing, please don't mess this up, Sony. -
does it even mention the sensor size before you compare it to a m43 camera? I think i will try to make money with some real cameras rather than wait for a sensor to get crippled in the hope of saving a bit of cash.

Nikon D5 versus Canon 1D C for cinematic 4K video - which wins?
Jimmy replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Seems a little presumptive to think that no one is giving Nikon any feedback or that the people who do are just corporate whores. None of us have a single clue what feedback was given and subsequently ignored or decided to be too difficult or not cost effective. -
Yes... And the drone alone was under $3k at that point, so some simple maths were applied. Anyway, there has been a big price drop that has made it more interesting... I have no interest in pedantic arguments. Next time I will be sure to put "nearly half the price of the hypothetical figure worked out with an X - Y equation".

In terms of image? I have an NX1 and think it has some nice characteristics, but the poor highlight roll off and general lack of DR put it below the 1DC. As for Sony, the colours just don't cut it, for me. For overall image and performance as a hybrid, I think the 1DC still reigns supreme.
-
Is it fair to say the the 1DC is still the best 4K DSLR/Hybrid on the market?
-
You have already said you are not interested in one at this price anyway, now you are crying because they have only released DNGs that match the usage for 99% of potential buyers.

http://www.nikon.com/news/2016/0106_dslr_02.htm (D500) http://www.nikon.com/news/2016/0106_dslr_01.htm (D5) No major video info there: Cinematic brilliance with 4K UHD (30p) movie capability The D5 supports movie creation in 4K, which offers a resolution higher than HD or full-HD movies, an indispensable feature for professionals involved in film-making and video content creation. High-resolution 4K UHD (3840 x 2160)/30p, 25p, 24p movies can be recorded to a memory card inserted in the camera, or, with simultaneous HDMI output, they can be displayed on an external monitor or recorded as uncompressed video to an external recorder. With support for the maximum standard sensitivity of ISO 102400, as well as even higher sensitivity settings up to Hi 5 (equivalent to ISO 3280000), even movies recorded at these high sensitivities will exhibit superior picture quality. 4K UHD time-lapse movies can also be generated in-camera.

I'm almost (selfishly) hoping this could also mean the video on the D5 is of a very high quality,,, maybe 10 bit 4:2:2.... Of course, i'd love it in both... but if they have separated the very high end with amazing video quality, it is still a win

5 underrated cinematic images from "forgotten" cameras
Jimmy replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
I'm hoping for the opposite... 4.6K sensor in the BMCC body (or BMPCC!) -

Removing aliasing issues was a major step too. Can't see how it can be seen any other way, really. -

I'd probably have the FS700 / O7Q combo in there too.... When you think what it offers up, it is very underrated and the raw image can be very beautiful. I saw a kit for sale for under $4k recently... 4K/120fps/raw for $4k, genuine bargain. -

You should probably note that in 2009, CF cards were nowhere close to the required size or speed for raw recording. I miss my 5DIII every day though, regret trading it up for the paper specs of the A7s. My brother has a 5DII, will have to get ML loaded onto it. -
ps - Not sure if anyone has seen this already, but there are some DNGs to play with here, from the X5 (photo mode, but will be the same quality as the film mode on the X5R) http://download.dji-innovations.com/downloads/zenmuse_x5s/en/Zenmuse_X5_photo_samples_en.zip Colours seem great and a nice punchy image.

B&H seem to be listing 3rd party SSDs in the accessory section, so any SSD upto 512GB should work, as long as it can match the eye watering 2.4Gbps (Average: 1.7 Gbps) bitrate I'm sure people will be concerned about the 12 minutes of footage per SSD limit, but that roughly corresponds to a copter flight on an Inspire (and you can stop/start recording while in the air). It's gonna be used on the big money shots anyway. A ProRes or compressed raw option would be very much appreciated though and I have already passed the message on to my contact at DJI (and that it was way overpriced).
