And yes, I do have another monitor next to my iPad 2 After some searching I found that the iPad 2 display doesn't cover the full Rec.709 gamut unfortunately. http://www.displaymate.com/Gamut_6.html However, the iPad 3 and other "retina" iPads, are actually very accurate and well calibrated from the factory and come close to a professional reference monitor according to: http://www.displaymate.com/iPad_ShootOut_1.htm So if you have a retina iPad laying around, you could actually put it to good use.

I'm using this Kingston USB 3.0 card reader and Sandisk Extreme Pro cards. Goes plenty fast for me. Around 15-20min. to transfer 128gb. The SD card's read speed is the limiting factor with any USB 3.0 reader I would presume. A good CF card would give you even faster transfer speeds. (not that the BMPCC uses those)

I only had the camera for 2 days. But as far as I can remember, it just worked like any other camera. Press once and it starts recording. Press again and it stops recording.

I am using the Duet app to connect my iPad 2 to my computer and was wondering if it would be a good idea to use it as a reference monitor for when doing the final colour grade. Most of my work ends up online anyway. (Youtube/Vimeo) Any pitfalls that I should be aware of?

The G7 also has more rolling shutter issues. No HDMI out when recording. Smaller batteries. So there is still much to consider when choosing between the GH4 and G7. /Edit: When I played with the G7, I did not encounter any issues with the record button or any need for double pressing it.

I am curious why you say the 240fps of the FS5 is "low quality/SD-ish"? I was hoping it to be a step up from the FS700 slo-mo tbh.

Yeah, I also thought that the launch video was rather underwhelming. (definitely not as lovely to watch as captain hook's Ursa 4,6k teaser) But going of prior Sony launch video's and then seeing other peoples work, I am now very curious to see more examples before I make a judgement.

A big difference between the FS5 and FS7 is that the FS5 shoots on the much cheaper SDXC cards. You do loose the XAVC-I codec (10bit 422) and 60fps in 4K/UHD. But "just" 8bit 420 in 4K/UHD (8bit 422 through HDMI) and supersampled 10bit 422 HD should still give you all the crispy images you need. I recon it's a great light and compact camera for documentaires and action sports.

The new camera will also have S-LOG 2, so you can easily switch back and have even more fun

Wow..what a great addition to the Inspire platform by DJI. This, combined with the user friendliness of the dual remote control + app makes it very attractive for low/medium budget flyers.

Price for Europe is listed at €3400 and available from Nov. 2015. Also great to see the 120fps full sensor readout slow motion option. Sounds like it will finally be a usable option on the A7SII.

Well, technically it's UHD, not 4K, but what's in a name. I love the attention to detail Apple puts in to deliver top quality images from a cellphone. Both on the hardware and on the software side. "It just works" I got a Sony Xperia Z3c this year and even though on paper it looked amazing, I still prefer the colour and look from my old iPhone 5.

After reading this thread I started playing around with converter LUTs and film stock (not Andrew's but from Visioncolor) and to my surprise I got some interesting results. What do you guys think? (I played around with the opacity/intensity of both the converter LUT and film stock LUT to get a desired result. This might help dial down the unwanted magenta you guys seam to have)

I tried it on my Sony Xperia Z3 compact. Sadly the app didn't work on my device. According to the developer, Sony doesn't support or give access to the camera API.

Looks handheld and too shaky to me. Would benefit to have some sort of small shoulder rig when shooting without stabilised lenses. Also the video is slightly overexposed for my preference. Highlights look washed out. I would have probably exposed 1/1,5 stops darker.

Looking forward to see the comparison between the G7+MB and the 1DC. Would be great to see some talking heads/skin tone examples!
