(I can't imagine cinema maker that will buy this niche dream and than rigged it instead of UMP4.6.) Which has a "selfie" flip out screen Regarding expectations, they were broken with the S1 in the sense that anyone used to the utility of an articulating screen on the GH series would wonder "WTF". Maybe Panny should have removed the screen entirely to prove cine cred. I take it no timecode input on this cine camera?
-
no flip out screen on specific cine model?? WTF? Cinema people shoot selfies now? Right..THAT'S the only use.
-
Why would that be? I'd think a fully articulating screen would be better thann fixed screen spray & pray overhead shots at events etc.
-
6k for a cine cam without xlrs and timecode might be pushing it.

"The Sony FS5 should be ripped apart, put on a Chinese workbench and nobody leave the room until they figure out how it works!!" Yeah..they would be the ones to blow past IP issues. -

Heh. Good way to put it, actually.

NAB 2019 predictions and major talking points - BMPCC 4K Pro anyone?!
RWR replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Given the demand/supply issues with BMPC4k, seems unlikely an update or pro version would happen so soon. I am definitely in the camp that the large but non-articulating screen is a hinderance. BM seems to have a bit of a blind spot (pun intended) with screens..tending to favor size over flexibility/sensibility. (Remember their cam with the wind-sail flip out?)That fixed angle might help low angle shots, but not high or side viewing. Grant Petty yapping about vlogging use with that along no continuous AF rubs it in. I thought they had come around on the screen issue after releasing the Ursa Mini pros -
Anaconda_, Maybe simulate it with a minimally recharged battery.
-
Has BMD recognized the issue?

FWIW, P4k is a "dedicated video camera".
-
Given the tour name, would be weird if it wasn't. But..you know..it' s Black Magic
-
That was the case with gH4
-
"For actual filmmakers it’s not really much of an issue." At minimum, on overstatement. Bet you'd have a different opinion re that without the other qualities of the cam.
-
"Maybe someone should take the insides and make a proper re-housing with a proper F battery instead of the Canon" Given the many non-Canon devices using this battery format, there ought to be 3rd party folks making various capacity compatible batts as is common in Sony style. The LPe6 has lots of room to grow in depth and capacity. Make it so. (you too Mr. Petty)

There will be a Sony A7S II successor. The bad news is - "it will take time"
RWR replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
"Unless this has been lost in translation, the A7S III is going to be a minimum of 2 years away." It's not a translation issue.. Think marketing formulated disinformation... Although, a graph/trajectory of A7SII sales might inform.. -
"Why do we need the same video posted 4 times?' Yep. And "quoting" with the same image(s) over and over just makes the forum a constant scroll. Just a little thought before as to whether that's really necessary for clarity would help.
