Since you can adapt Nikon lenses to Canon bayonet, I bet you'll be able to use Nikon lenses on the NXL speedbooster through another adapter. So NX1+NXL+NikonToCanon

For sure, even if GH5 will be a bit better than NX1 for video (and that's to be seen) it won't be for still pics. Perhaps EM1-mk2 will be more stills oriented, but then you need to have two bodies. Or...you get a GH5 for video and a FF camera for stills, but again two bodies and two systems, here. NX1 is so well balanced that even when other cameras will start reaching and surpassing it for individual specific tasks, it will still be a very good overall solution.

Too soon was, perhaps, in november 2014, when nx1 arrived with h.265. Now it should be fine.

After gh5 and em1-ii have been pre-announced, m43 is now very interesting, but...nx1 will hopefully serve me for other several years to come. Still more than enough for my personal needs.

Imo the only company that could have done something similar (actually even better imo) in late 2016/early 2017 could have been Samsung with nx1-mk2. Since we won't ever see this camera, I guess sony will come with something competitive, but not sooner than 2018.

This is the first camera since the release of nx1 which sounds innovative and interesting to me.

That's what I'd have liked to hear since the beginning. Thx for being sincere. Btw the user base of nx is quite large and most are enthusiasts willing to spend for a product like an intelligent adapter. I hope that someone eventually does the thing for the best apsc camera ever ;-)

Get a samsung nx500 for portability, hack it and you'll have h.265 at 180mb/sec. Then buy a nxl focal reducer to be able to use canon ff lenses (and many from other brands) on it with a 1.1x crop.

Oneplus 3 is the way :-D at half price or less...

Low light has never been a strong point for video on nx1. Actually quite a weak point. But the sensor is much more capable that the video shows. In stills iso 3200 (or even better iso 100+5ev) is very ver usable.

Matabones were those lying, not Luca. They were part of those trying to destroy nx, imo. They worked at close contact with sony, and nx1 could actually be the only sony killer, for that market segment.

If a proper intelligent adapter (not focal reducer) will be done at a decent price, I can even foresee some canon still shooters buying a nx1 to use their lenses, instead of going to the more expensive and way less capable 7d-ii.

Considering where they were 2 years ago, and where they are now with the recent exynos chips, I think it'd be very likely they could have that technology. Unfortunately, we'll never know, at least not in the form of a new NX camera.

Mattias, of course. But when a camera fails to reach the level of another released two years earlier, then I cannot understan all the "wow" factor around it. I'd be the first in line if a new APSC camera comes with full readout, 4:2:2 10bit internal recording, 60fps at 4k and 240fps at 2K, at the price of NX1 two years ago. That's probably where samsung would have been today, with a mk2, had it continued the NX line. Without samsung in the game, I only see average and old hardware at a big price.

I don't see anything, in those video, to write home about. Nothing that NX1 or GH4 could not already do (possibly better).

The only good thing about this camera is the compatibility with eos line.

I never understood if raw video has the same coloring possibilities of a raw still image. If so, then Mountneer is most definitely right

Great news! I hope you'll use the nx1 hack to get the most of it (especially with high bitrate, eg 180mb/s in 4k and 120mb/s in 2k@120fps). Also please compare high iso (1600-3200) from the two.
