In general I'm not for bridge cameras, but since nx system doesn't have a long tele, at some point I could even go for the rx10 ii or iii. But I still think nx1 is much better, overall.

Did you try playing it at 30 or 24fps to see if it is real slowmotion and not duplicated frames? Is the quality as good as uhd@30?

Andrew seems to ignore nx1 since when samsung apparently decided to discontinue it. But...the camera is still there and kicking.

The bitrate hack improved the image from NX1 even further. Now I do 180mbit in 4k and FHD@100fps, while for FHD@120 I go down to 100mbit, which is anyway an improvement compared to the original 80mb. The worst part of NX1 is high ISO in video, and I can't understand why, since for raw still images, they are detailed and clean up to 3200 (and up to 6400 when downscaled in postprocessing to match 4k). Possibly a combination of poor downscaling (since video is from full sensor readout) and NR.

I very much like most of the quoted ones. Nobody mentioned First Blood (Rambo) which I think is quite cool for those days.

I'm not so much for ff cameras. I mean, ok, they are cool, but I still prefer a high end apsc to a mid-end ff. Of course 1dx mk2 is incredible, but imo nx1 is better than most ff under 3000$.

Kidz, happy to see ypu stai in the nx1 camp. I still wonder how good a nx1 mk2 could have been. Possibly too good to exist :-D

Yes. But as already said, the still raw images are very good at iso 3200, especially when downsized to 16mp or lower. So...we should find out what's up with video. Why so much worse than raw unprocessed stills?

This feature really made my day. You press af on, then shutter does not focus anymore and simply takes pictures. Best feature ever for sport shooting where you take many pics at a given (same) distance or where you want to keep a subject in fucus by keeping af on pressed (with caf) and take pics when you are ready.

+1 for what Andrew said. Samsung does NOT want ppl to improve nx1 and to add long time requested features they never cared to add.

Wow the wonderful Jedi Otto+kinoseed made TBBAF a reality for nx1! This is huge for stills.

I personally preferred the situation where nx1 was abandonware, since...it's abandonware even today, but more closed. They'll never start nx again, unless someone buys the mount. They could release a fw with some of the 50+ requests we did in the last year and half, but they preferred not to listen and instead to lock the mods. Just like they did in the past, they go their own route, never listening to customers. That's why they failed with nx and why most pros never took them seriously.
