nx1 does 4k@30fps (not 60, alas) but from full sensor readout, and so with 1080@120fps.

Please collect all the nx1 fw versions you can find on some website. This is very important, I'm contacting a guy.

The problem could be the part devoted to the specific hw of nx1. I mean, as far as I understood, there is a code specifically written for the custom chips and hw of nx1. This part is binary only, hence it needs to be reverse engineered to understand how it works. That's why I proposed the way through a new code to be written and executed at startup.

Nope. Like most ppl expressing interest and exhibiting knowledge in hacking nx...he disappeared.

Unfortunately I have no clue on how to implement it. I guess that a linux geek, delving into nx1 code, could discover a way to do that and more. We could collect funds to buy a free nx1 to a person who 'promises' to work on it and release the results to supporters...

I really enjoyed those slowmo sequences! Which settings did you use for image and grading?

I was wondering that, perhaps, the best way to 'hack' nx1 would be writing code for it. I mean, instead modifying the existing fw, why not just leave it as is and write new routines to be summoned from sd at startup? That should be possible as shown by those who have done something for this camera, till now. And these routines should 'intercept' some parameters and change them on the run. Eg. When I select video pro quality, set a higher bitrate. Or: when I set 120fps, run at 240fps and so forth...

which system do u have? I have a 5820@4.4ghz, 16gb of memory and an amd fury and working on h.265 is really fast!

Who knows perhaps nx1 could do 4k@60fps at 1:1 (instead of downsampling from whole sensor like it does @30). If only someone could hack its fw...

I'd use a samsung lens. The 16-50s seems like a perfect fit.

are you from Italy? I have the same cpu. very good and fast. I advise you to get 4 modules of ram. x99 can handle quad channel memory.

at 4k sure you can't do 120 or 240fps. perhaps 60 with a fw hack...

rolling shutter at 1080 is a non issue with nx1. having higher fps will allow you to achieve 10x true slowmotion at 24fps which would be outstanding for a camera at this pricepoint.

I still think that mode could be enabled via fw hack. We just need a 'geek' user with advanced knowledge in sw coding and debugging...
