  1. I actually prefer the own samsung's 85mm to the (good) samyang. I have both and samyang gets never used...
  2. Considering that nx1 can take its power via usbusb during use, this could be a great integrated combo.
  3. I'm considering a monitor. Its primary use would be photo editing (I'm an advanced hobbyists, not a pro). I'd use it for video editing as well and sometimes for 3d gaming. Let's say 65-20-15%. I'd like to buy a 27". Even if I own a nx1, I don't need 4k since I mainly downscale/crop my videos to fhd (and keep the original for future editing). But I'd like a qvga res especially for photo editing. I'd like to spend 500€ at most. I'm considering the BenQ gw2765ht monitor. Anybody using it already? Seems decent for occasional gaming and good for photo/video. Any hint? Thanks!
  4. TheThe video dr of nx1 is perfectly fine for most uses, imo. Of course it could be better, and probably would with a built-in flat profile, considering how good the dr is for stills in raw, especially at base iso, for an apsc sensor.
  5. I'm seriously thinking about buying the em1 with a couple of primes to compliment my nx1.
  6. This seems to be perfect. Highly versatile and configurable, quite light, able to take up to 1.6kg. Now it's just to be seen if it gets the same (reasonable) price in europe.
  7. I'd also like clean iso 50. But also usable iso 3200 would be nice. And since nx1 does very nice 3200 for stills in raw, especially if downscaled to 8mp, I don't understand why they can't implement better video algorithms.
  8. Wang, nx1 is a very capable camera, so I don't understand why you say 'even worse than nx1', as if it were shitty...
  9. I also wonder if there is a way to sort things about artificial light.
  10. And I add that I'd be ready to pay for a custom fw for nx1, if it adds what samsung is not adding (look the long list published here on this forum back in february/march).
  11. Think about what they could do with nx1!
  12. I remebered your very nice movie from the other time you posted it. I liked its mood and colors very much. The new grading adds something. I really like the colors of 1.14-1.24 for example.
  13. I'll wait to get a new pc. I think that we have to see which kind of hw acceleration will be used by this sw. The skylake could be a very nice companion.
  14. Very nice look. What were your ooc settings?
  15. What is that 4k apsc body that you show as 'ghosted' in 2015?
  16. The sensor in nx1 if far more capable. But nx1 has not a native vlog profile. The hope is that samsung releases it soon. And for free, as done till now with new features.
  17. Cantsin, I see your concerns. But with sandisk extremeextreme uhs-ii the nx1 is now capable to write up to 6-8fps with buffer full (endlessly), again raw 6k. How long for a card which is 2-3x faster? And ssd are already much faster than this. Ok for the audio, it can be a mode with no audio (to be recorded with separate device). I'm really convinced that the hw of nx1 could do it now, but we won't ever know, unless some magic lantern like fw pops up.
  18. Neosushi and cantsin, let's think this way. The nx1 1) samples 6k x 4k pixels at 24fps, 2) resizes them at 4k res, then 3) encodes this into h.265 and 4) saves it to the internal sd card. If it just jumped on steps 2 and 3 and sent the output of the sensor (raw) through hdmi it would be less processing involved and less heat developed, for sure. See it from another angle. Don't forget the nx1 can save 15fps in burst mode with raw+jpg. Save it raw only, don't use the mechanical shutter and you already have a sort of (low fps) 6k movie. The jump from 15 to 24 is easy imho.
  19. I also think 6k is doable. Both raw and encoded. They could immediately kill the competition in letting 6k to be recorded raw. But perhaps they'd also limit the appeal of their future products, who knows? 10bit vs 8bit could be a hw limit of the h.265 encoder.
  20. I saw! That's great since it can basically hold nx1 with any nx lens (and most legacy). I think I'll wait for that one.
  21. Which in camera settings? What do you mean by s curve?
  22. Wow, dis is huge :-P When you say no grading, you mean out of camera with which settings?
  23. Very very nice. I still womder why samsung does not implement this crop mode as an alternative on nx1. It would be a great digital zooming lossless mode!
