I doubt, at least not in the form of a camera system. The camera market is too tiny now. Perhaps a computational camera, if/when the technology is ready.

And I'm just back back from San Vigilio di Marebbe...great places for pictures and videos.

It's not artificial sharpening. It's the sensor which is incredible.

Very interesting. This topic should probably be moved into the nx subforum to get more attention by nx users.

This is clearly the path leading to 30fps 4-6k raw shooting from stills (with e-shutter) in future cameras.

Andrew, you advised to use 16-235 in your profile for nx1... Could you please let us know which settings work best? Thanks.

Max bitrates and does the NX1 hack actually reduce macro blocking?
Marco Tecno replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
Yes at least for me -
These shots are very nice (and those guys look absolutely groovy)

One of the latest fw (I guess it was like 1.3 or so) improved by a large margin the buffer with fast SD cards. Also incremental improvements in AF performance can be found. IMO the NX1 still stands in front of the two cameras you mention, for overall performance and features.

I guess that with a lot of time/knowledge/money a (partial?) reverse engineering of the code could be done, but...I personally don't have none of those three. -
While (IMHO) the NX1 is still the best hybrid APS-C camera on the market, for several reasons, Nikon is trying hard to push the envelope and if they release a new mirrorless high end product within a couple of years from now, they could finally be the ones matching my beloved NX1. That said, it's so sad Samsung decided to quit. A next gen NX1 (which in 2014 was at least 3-4 years ahead of its times) could have seriously crushed the competitors. p.s.: for a real comparison at high ISO among NX1/500 and other cameras, try shooting at ISO 100 and then pull the shadows, even by several stops. NX1 is incredible at this, better than Nikon, Sony and MUCH better than Canon.

Heh, I had the same thought ;-) Now I want to see the follow up!

Should I buy a Samsung NX1 now May 2017???
Marco Tecno replied to Henry Silvestriz's topic in Cameras
So many ppl don't understand how good the NX1 is and are taken over by the "frenzy" of selling it due to Samsung's quitting. IMO the NX1 should be preserved as the best hybrid available, even after almost 3 years. -
LawDude, very good.

Pro quality. Great! I want to see more.

Samsung Camera Manager new Update!!! The very first good news
Marco Tecno replied to cojocaru27's topic in Cameras
Well, I wouldn't read this as a sign that samsung is listening (and even less, that samsung is reprising the support for NX). Simply, they probably have a kind of update schedule for their sw products, and even the ones for discontinued products are going through this. Sorry, but I'm very disillusioned about Samsung's customer care. -

Marco Tecno replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
For sure if you need high/very high iso, you should consider A7s (I or II). NX1 imo is the best hybrid (in general) but still has the "flaw" of high iso shooting in video, which is bad already at 3200 and no more than decent at 1600. -
If you enable dis, it'll introduce a small cropping.

I will never ever say that some technological achievement is "enough". I've been into technology for long enough to know (and understand) that "the more is always the better"...if done right. Hence, 8k at 8bit won't probably be better than having 4k at, say, 10bit, but for sure 8k@ 10bit will be better than 4k@10bit. There will be a limit beyond which the human eye simply won't be able to tell the difference in resolution and detail, but if the footage is not oversharpened "ad hoc" (like that in the first post) having more resolution is almost always welcome.

Still Swimming with the big boys... Rated #9th 2017
Marco Tecno replied to Juxx989's topic in Cameras
In 2015 I claimed that nx1 would have been relevant at least until 2020. I think my prophecy will prove true :-D -
Still Swimming with the big boys... Rated #9th 2017
Marco Tecno replied to Juxx989's topic in Cameras
It's the only apsc camera of the list, for sure the cheapest (even at launch 2.5 years ago) and one of the oldest. A99-ii is actually a great camera, can't comment on a9 or mf cameras. I don't really like the various a7. D750 is another golden oldie. -
Yes, they are LED (and also the small front lights are). Anyway this is a very cool small car Great videos btw! The A9 has more RS than I thought.

Which model of FIAT 500 is that? It's really nice with that color and those accessories. I have a FIAT 500 Lounge ,white, bought a couple of months ago, btw It has different rear projectors from the one in your video. Here it is:

Samsung NX1 vs Fujifilm X-T2 vs Nikon D5500 vs Sony a5100 shootout
Marco Tecno replied to Inazuma's topic in Cameras
Inazuma, that's so strange. My NX1 produces the cleanest files I've ever seen from any camera (below ISO 1600/800 and below ISO 400 for 120fps). -
Sandro, that's a very good offer from them. Actually...really good. I'd take the offer immediately and start looking for a NX1 in mint or near mint condition on ebay. There are plenty.
