  1. I really like it, especially the soft colors in the part with the dog. Bravo!
  2. All the "xxx" nx cameras never had an evf option, with the exception of nx100 (the first of its kind). But nx100 had an additional plug for the evf. Nx500 has no plug, so I'll bet on "no evf for it".
  3. Great! Looking forward to it. Please share your findings, settings and suggestions.
  4. Mike, I agree with you. Technological items should be reviewed within weeks, not months. The same is happening for nx1, out in december. Most magazines and sites already reviiewed it, but not dpr. That said, they seem to be biased against it, so perhaps no review is better than a biased one.
  5. I cannot confirm it works with nx1/nx500, but I would guess so. I remembered this mic from the "age" of older nx models. I've been a nx user since 2011 so I guess I know "almost" everything about this system :-) But to be sure that this mic works with the latest models, one should get it and test.
  6. And then there are the many suggestions collected in the other topics. Most of those would make the nx1 a much better camera.
  7. WoaWoa, the more the merrier ;-)
  8. This? http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/smart-camera-camcorder/smart-nx/smart-nx-accessories/ED-EM10
  9. Interesting topic. The settings mentioned by Geoff are clearly intended for footage to be graded afterwards. Is the same for the settings posted by Ed? What about also posting preferred settings for ooc best results? I had been suggested to use Gamma C with -5 sharpness, for this.
  10. Steve, k I agree, but it would be nice to get the limit I set, for when I decide to shoot with auto iso. Not a higher iso!
  11. I noticed another bug. I usually set my auto ISO limit at 3200. I just noticed that during video ISO goes all the way up to 5000... This is with latest fw (1.22). Anybody noticed this? Is Auto ISO limit onlyonly used for stills? Thanks.
  12. I think that latest nvidia gpus already support full hw encoding for h.265.
  13. I have another important suggestion. The nx1 seems unable to transfer data to SD cards at speeds over 55/60MB/sec, even for !uch faster cards: http://www.cameramemoryspeed.com/samsung-nx1/sd-card-comparison/
  14. Ok, this one is big. Yesterday I took some pics of my daughter with the 16-50s and nx1. It was a sunny day, but the shadows were quite harsh on the subject (so a big difference in exposure from subject to background). Fill-in flash was in use to compensate this. I used selection af, in the middle, accuracy as focus release option (a combo that never gave me issues). The af square was set at the second smaller option. Well, with the square pointed on the face, the camera focused on the background more than once. The oddest thing is that when this happened, it wouldn't change focus unless I focused on the body. My take is that probably the square was a bit bigger than the face, thus going on the background, where contrast was probably higher. I posted this on dpr and many users replied, complaining about the same issue. This did not happen with nx300 or other nx cameras. This NEEDS to be fixed by samsung.
  15. While I've been desiring a rangefinder nx with evf for years, the one in the mockup wouldn't satisfy me. I don't want the hump, so a design like gx7 or a6000 would get me excited. I don't mind in camera flash.
  16. About #1, 150Mb/sec or even higher bitrate shouln't be an issue for many sd cards. Cheap cards have been benchmarked at well over 20MB/sec.
  17. Some interesting suggestions and issues from here: http://***URL removed***/forums/post/55245586
  18. Very nice video. I've been a nx user for almost 4 years. I have 4 bodies (nx100,200,300,1) and all the lenses but a couple (namely the 16 and 18-200). Initially I was very reluctant to buy the nx1. What I wanted was a smaller camera, possibly rangefinder styled ala sony a6000. But being heavily invested in lenses, I couldn't but try and buy this very special camera. It's big, for my standards, but I love it. I'll still be using nx300 with pancakes, while the nx1 will be for bigger lenses and video.
  19. Could you please share the settings you use? Which gamma? Master black? Sharpness? Also the other ones, thx.
  20. 18mp on m4/3 translates to almost 70mp on a ff area. And to about 29mp in aps-c. Nx1 has 28mp on apsc and uses the newest tech in sensors' world. It's noisy to very noisy at 6400. I doubt panasonic can do that much better.
  21. Impressive detail. You gave quite a lot of depth through grading. Which settings did you apply? Anyway it's nice to see what can be done with a video that's 'just' 8bit.
  22. Thx. May you also post the ooc image before grading, for comparison?
  23. I know that most ppl on this forum edit video and color grade it. For this purpose, they look for the flattest possible tonal curve in ooc video. But...anybody here has a suggestion on which settings to use for a decent ooc video rendition, w/o needing to edit it afterwards? Which gamma setting is best for, say, a cinematic rendition? Which for natural rendition? Thanks in advance.
