As I said, the only persons that could be able to discuss on this matter are Otto K and Kino Seed (since the third one, Vasile, went MIA). Try to contact them with your idea and see if they can help. It's an interesting approach, but I doubt it's the best one considering that high ISO in NX1, for video, is subject to high NR.

Yep, but none of those is 28mp. One is 24, the other 20mp.

For me is samsung, canon and then sony. It's actually very subjective.

The NX1 downsamples from 6.5k (full sensor readout) hence I wouldn't call it "over sharp". It's simply as sharp as it should be coming from that high res. It's the only hybrid camera doing this from such a high res, AFAIK.

The aliasing never disturbs me too much, but yes, it's there. As to ISO, I find that at 120fps it's fine to shoot up until 400 and, for not too dark scenes, even 800. But that's me, ymmv.

Nx1 is very good at 120fps.

I totally agree with your timeframe. 8k at 8-10bit and 30fps and 6-4k at 10-12 bit and 60-120fps will be - imo - a must in few years. Smartphones will probably get there first, in late 2018 or 2019. Then big sensors will get there by 2020. At that point the main challenge will be perfect af, co sidering that one will be able to shoot a video and then grab stills from it at almost raw quality.

6k is 8bit not 10, afaik. And, for stills, 20mp are always 20mp.

Gh5 is better on specs, but with that smaller sensor... We'll see. A7s2...I would not trade my nx1 for it, being mainly a stills guy.

consider that GH5 at 3200 could be cheating a little bit. I mean that perhaps you'll need 3200 "sooner", being more like a 2000 real ISO. At least GH4 is like this.

Not much a video guy. Say 5% or less, compared to stills. I'll wait for an apsc camera able to surpass nx1 in stills AND video.

Lexar 2000x is faster on my nx1.

Unfortunately that comparison ha never been updated after the BIOS update that enables faster speeds.

Actually, the same idea applies to nx1, which has been out since nov 2014.

Ppl don't like those taking about nx1. They usually prefer ignoring its existence, and dismissing it as a discontinued camera, as if being discontinued could kill the existing units.

Kino, I wouldn't need encryption as well. Rather I'd kill for the 4k cropped video option from nx500 to be implemented in nx1...any chance for this?

Perhaps it's the i/o controller and sd that heat up that much? I noticed the sd being really warm after 8-10 minutes of recording at 180mbit.

Nope. But anyway I think that Vasile got tired about it, and passed to a newer project. He totally disappeared back in august.

Yep I know. But I had some (imo realistic) hopes, like implementation of cropped 4k, as a choice, for nx1 (ala nx500).

Too bad that the scene has slowed down this much btw.
