Another low light example.

I'll take a closer look, but I am away now so it will have to wait. I did notice a little color shifting due to awb and moving from shade to sun (I forgot to set WB), but not green tints.
-
Odd, because I look for discoloration too. But, you got stability!

Software to trim MP4 4k files without recoding
markr041 replied to Marcio Kabke Pinheiro's topic in Cameras
Command line program, right? Not the easiest to trim clips compared to the commercial TMPEgnc. But, free is free. -
If you mean you see a green tint, that is interesting. On my color calibrated monitor and even on my Galaxy S8 I do not see green snow. Perhaps I am green blind, or ...

I am sorry, why would anyone shoot in hlg and then convert to vlog? Why not shoot vlog, which provides higher DR, and then convert to hlg? Shooting vlog also enables rendering to other hdr formats, like hdr10. Hlg is inferior to vlog, right (It's a compromise hybrid)? What am I missing?

Software to trim MP4 4k files without recoding

You want lossless trimmig. TMPEgnc Smart Renderer 5 does that. I have used it for years. You can even merge files losslessly. No issues specifically with GX85 4k files. -
Magical Combo: Z Cam E1 + SLR Magic 8mm F4 + Zhiyun Crane M Stay for the out-take at the end (audio test too). Light, small and wide view like an action cam on a gimbal, but without the fisheye and much better quality. And more feasible than mounting a GH5 on a gimbal, for long use.

With stabilized 14-140mm lens.
-
1. It's not battery limited, it can be powered externally by standard usb battery packs, with an available cable. 2. If the camera becomes popular a third party will make the battery, or Z will sell them. The camera is not sold out.

Last handheld with the unstabilized 8mm (warning!) in the frigid NYC series:
-
Yes, the lens is not stabilized, the camera is so light, and the wind really makes it difficult to hold steady. I also really like the 8mm FOV. I am expecting to use the lens mainly on a gimbal, so future videos will be less harmful!

It does have focus magnification. In my experience with Sony cameras and to a lesser extent Panasonic cameras, focus peaking does not yield precise focus without focus magnification. FP has fooled me too many times, and I do not use it anymore on any camera (and in some circumstances it does not work at all). Focus magnification works well on the Z, and you can have it at any time with the push of a button. Of course, you can hook up a monitor with FP and peak all you like! The Z Cam weighs with battery but no lens 7.65 oz. The Zhiyun Smooth Q capacity is 7.8 oz, so it just misses, unless one can find a 0.15 oz lens... The Zhiyun Crane M would work well, and once I get that 8mm non-fisheye lens I will have a go.

Smooth WiFi touch-screen focus pulls! From your phone, connected by WiFi to the Z, you can pre-select and store two focus points (A and B), then go between the points with no focusing delay or glitches. The stored points are focus pre-sets, not where you are asking the camera to try to focus. The focusing occurs at a chosen point first (by touching the phone screen), then the point is stored. So, you get smooth transitions, touching A then B and back and so on, as seen in this test video. This uses the Lumix 25mm F1.7 lens.

The Z Cam E1 has a better sensor - the one in the GH4 - that has less pixels, for low light. The Z is easier to use because it has multiple buttons (2 or 3 programmable), so no digging onto touch screen menus for simple changes. The Z is smaller. And reviewers indicate the image quality is better. You are effectively paying $150 when buying the Yi for two very mediocre lenses. I went for the SLR Magic 8mm - the Z Cam E1 + this lens + a gimbal are perfect.

The Apple Store in Grand Central video posted above has ambient sound from the internal mics - including the store piped music and some background conversation. On my Sennheiser HD650 headphones, the audio is very realistic.

Just seeing what was on the screen in bright light outside was difficult with the BMPCC, when shooting RAW (no screen contrast). A big battery? It uses tiny Canon batteries. As I said, I liked the IQ (and I can replace batteries fast, as I do with the A6500...)
-
Here, a used (FullHD) BMPCC is $700 at the usual stores and on most ebay sites. Not close to $199. I have shot with the BMPCC. I loved shooting RAW, but it was real difficult to use, especially in bright light, and battery life was terrible.

I do not like, at all, being called "crazy," LoL or not (I am not really offended, of course). But this seems to reflect lack of knowledge. I do not understand what "Real" camera means. What features exactly are missing from the Z E1 that disqualify it as a "Real" camera? Is it not having a dial with "Intelligent Auto (iA) mode" and "Scene Detection" as choices? Have you tried either camera? Got some videos to show from either? And, the GM1 does not shoot 4K (let alone DCI 4K), nor does it have a mic input. The E1 also has the better GH4 sensor (but better color than the GH4) compared to the GM1. And the E1 is smaller. It lacks no manual control features; it even has auto ISO with aperture and shutter set manually, a most useful mode. On the BHPhoto site it says that the E1 is a "#1 Seller." I guess there are a lot of crazies out there. Or, informed videographers.

It' back to $199 for a limited time at BHPhoto.

using the slow 14-140mm lens. No Neat Video treatment

Or refund my $199! ☺

Hey, thanks. It saved my butt for recent travel, by its portability.
