  1. And if said person also factors in other aspects such as having a display, full frame and s16 in the same camera, stills, usable amps, etc.... Don't get me wrong, I like the D750, but imo you are way to black and white about this.
  2. No, to be honest I never check that its working. On any camera. If you dropp a frame you will notice. The warning is very clear.
  3. I never read B&H reviews precisely for this reason. A regular research will tell you that banding is a sub native iso 400 issue. Also a question of NLE according to tests on this blog. The 4K files are not a minute each. I have of course already downloaded clips, my moddest MBP can handle it. And its not like Raw is a space saver There is a huge bunch of differences besides resolution. Many if which I listed in the first post. So thanks for the input, but my advice, never go by anonomys B&H reviews
  4. But there is no Raw in any of them. Not for Raw.
  5. No its still 8-bit. But I havent tried and would love to be wrong.
  6. Something getting released in July? (BTW, the LS300 should be here on Wednesday. Its in the same price bracket and might upset things. Bought a vintage 35mm for 20 bucks this weekend just for the occasion.)
  7. Don't have it any more Don't know, will have to check. Its pretty much the same compression that Blackmagic has in all their cameras.
  8. The thing that has me looking at the 1DC is the price. Its the same as I paid for the A7sii, which I bought with a 10% discount (just asked for it, its not selling well here). So on for example B&H that would be $2600. Pretty good price on a 1DC imo.
  9. I still convert but to losslessly compressed dng. Then just edit in Resolve.
  10. The hair is coming in slowly. But she is walking around. Have to keep her still though to make sure she gradually starts using the knee. Have a video of her on a under water treadmill on my Instagram. This was yesterday.
  11. Yup, and its 5000 swedish already today. Its gonna fall to nx500 territory.
  12. I would wait to se if that happens at NAB. But not to buy the 5Div. Instead to buy a cheap Mark iii. They are going to plummet as soon as the successor is out.
  13. If they all cost more or less the same, give or take $200 which would you rather have? Were talking around the ever so popular $3000 line. I liked the A7sii, no question. Lot of things to like, but I didn't love it. I wasn't thrilled when using it or editing from it. A7rii costs the same and I guess I would like it more or less the same. The 5D with Raw is great. A true "Pick Up and Shoot" camera thats always ready to deliver great 14-Bit Raw. I has it all, zebra, peaking, raw meter, spot better, tetra meter, waveform, histogram, vectorscope, stills, one push 3x crop, Raw slowmo. Very fun to have around the house but I would not hesitate to use it professionally. The 1DC (goes just above $3K on eBay) is a camera Ive never used. But given how I like the 5D and it, even though not Raw, delivers a very high res and high bitrate image. I imagine myself digging it quite a bit. It doesn't have any of the video features, but neither did the D750 which I love to shoot video with. Others in the price bracket are cameras like the D500, C100ii (used), FS700 etc. I really want a DSLR or equivalent type of camera. This is for home use, youtube, stills and an occasional freelance gig (been using the D750 for that lately, they never ask for Raw, they do however like 4K sometimes when its static shots of machines/products). Thoughts, what would you use/get?
  14. Wait for NAB could be wise. Regarding the lenses you can sell them and buy nice used lenses for the DSLRs. Should break even. For the D750 I like the 24-120/4 and a fast prime. For the 5D I use the 24-105/4 IS and a 35/2 IS. Covers most situations. On the 5D the crop mode turns them into a 35/2, 105/2 and a 24-315/4. All with IS.
  15. Yup, in my tests the slowmo looks nice. Totally usable, and Raw
  16. Its pretty safe to say that the BMMCC is very close to the BMPCC. And there are comparisons between the BMPCC and D750 out there. If you ask me that have used the D750, BMPCC, BMCC and BMPC4K. I would say that for grading, "filmic" and really diving in to the post workflow the Blackmagic wins, all day long. But if you just want good quality video, small file sizes and a wide dynamic range as well as really good stills, get the D750. To make it even more complicated. Ive been using the 5Dmkiii with ML Raw for a week now and imo its a marriage of the two above. You can use it for great stills, lowlight, decent AVCHD 1080p (not as good as D750) but also awesome 14-bit Raw (not as fast as BMD). Its a great compromise. Also it has a imo very usable Raw slowmotion. Here is a BMPCC vs D750 which I watched when deciding to get the D750. I think it shows that the BMPCC is "better" but not by far.
  17. I tried to buy one a few weeks ago, but the deal fell through.
  18. Well, there you go, buy cheap then Since NDs is a must you just have to grade it out. As you could see on the color charts the cheap ND had a very slight color shift. Almost not visable. But it was much charper than the expensive filter, which of course also has one. Its important to remember that all filters does something to the image. My sugggestion is to just accept that all NDs has a color shift.
  19. Its not important at all. Definetelly not if you are a beginner. Its better to learn the basics of exposure and then add a bunch of helping features. Its nice to have, yes. I would love to have it in evert camera. But not important. People, both hobby and Hollywood have gotten on without it for years and years, and still do. When I started out it TV some years ago, the wave form was read of a huge box sitting in the Studio. The vectorscope was in another. The camera only had zebra. No peaking, waveform, histogram or vectorscope. But we got along So "important"? nope you should be able to expose without. "Nice to have"? Yes, very.
  20. Well semantics aside, sending a camera to the biggest camera review channels and sites is for promotional purposes.
