Thats cool. But you can stay in M mode and still not need to use the screen. Just double tap function, adjust, menu.

Best Camera under 3k for 1080p 50fps, A7s or GH4 or a6300

I think the d750 video looks nicer. Never had moire. I returned the a7sii. One of the reasons was moire. Specially in stills. -
Really? Another "Guess the camera thread"?

You got the lens right -
Don't know if this been posted. Stumbled on it today. Heres what the description says. " The aim of the test is to showcase what's available to shooters under the £3000 mark. Unfortunately, we couldn't get our hands on a Sony A7S. We had a Krasnogorsk SUPER16 camera lined up however we discovered it had faulty gate. We decided to shoot a night interior as most shooters crave the "cinematic" look. The easiest way to get a "cinematic" look is through lighting, set design and on-screen talent. The lighting was the same for all cameras (somewhat unfair for cameras with smaller sensors). To my surprise, they all look pretty similar. The differences can be seen in how each camera handles highlights and how it renders skin. Mild colour correction applied to each camera footage; exposure, saturation, contrast, curves My thoughts: I really like the image from the RED ONE MX, bargain for under £3k, however, the camera is heavy and will require a very sturdy tripod. The BMPC4K could almsot be intercut with the RED quite easily, I love how versatile the image is. Not sure I really liked the 5DmkIII, that big sensor stood out like a sore thumb even though we tried to compensate with camera placement and stepping down. The GH4 stood its own surprising despite getting a bad rap for low light performance. Skin wasn't particularly nice. The BMPCC threw us a curve ball. This camera seems to like ETTR. I got into the edit room and the footage looked really underexposed. User error on our part exposing the flat image with the onscreen monitor. Even though i love the look of the SUPER 8, I felt like I was watching some archive footage. Doubt there is a place for a SUPER 8 outside of stylised videos. It's a great gateway drug to shooting film though. I'd encourage everyone to play with one. It really changes the way you shoot. CAMERAS: RED ONE MX (RAW, ISO800, f2/2.8) BLACKMAGIC Production Camera 4K (4K RAW, ISO400, f2/2.8) CANON 5DMKIII w/ML RAW (RAW, ISO800, f5.6) PANASONIC GH4 (4K, ISO400, f1.8) BLACKMAGIC POCKET CINEMA CAMERA (RAW, ISO800, f1.8) BRAUN NIZO 801 SUPER 8 (25FPS, 200ASA, f1.8) Lens: ZEISS ZF.2 35 & 50mm SIGMA 18-35 F1.8 Graded in Davinci Resolve Cut in Premiere Pro CC"

Looks good. As the "talent" I would be more comfortable with your D16 grade. In your BMPCC I look a bit grey. But both are fine. -

Bought the blanket for the GF for christmas. Its one of those super sized. Easily covers the whole family. Only downside with the dog liking it is that it gets so charged with static that I get a shock when touching it -
I think theses are a lot of fun, so here we go again. Clues: Couple of different brand LUTs used. Didn't spend more than 1 minute per clip. Grain added. No stabilization in post or lens. (btw: boy does vimeo keep the grain 1 000 000 000 times better than youtube.)

Cant remember, sorry. There's one thing that always bugged me about the bmpcc (which I still love, great camera). It has sharpening in its debayer where as the D16 doesnt. BTW, the cool thing about that ballerina video is that half of it is their cheap Kish lenses and half is some +$5000 cinema glass

I can D750 has less moire and than the a7sii and a very clean 60p. Not the same as 120p but not so bad either. -

Here you go, BMPCC TIFFs and D16 DNGs. REMEMBER: This was the old D16 firmware, with the old Matrix, therefor it must be switched to BMCC or preferably BMPC4K Gamma. Otherwise its very magenta. You can do so i Resolve or After Effects if you have the BMDFilm converter. http://www.filedropper.com/frames -

You guys are killing me Im scouting for a D16 again. Its just to bad that most are in the US and really cheap. If it gets stuck in customs... Not so cheap. But I can wait (as a BMD shooter you get used to it ). BTW, regarding its ISO. In my experience, pushing it to iso800 or 3 stops in post is done with no hesitation, NR or thought about exposure. Further can be done depending on exposure etc.

In stock everywhere now. Its a bit tempting still...

D750 video is really nice. Easily on my top 10 list of DSLR style cameras. Its even top 3.

I just don't see how a camera snug tight against your body with 5 points of contact if using an evf would shake much more than a DSLR with 2 or Mirrorless with 3 (evf). Lots of films where shot in the 70s on the original Bolex with the Pistol Grip, they aren't shaky. Its not like Youtube is full of super stable home videos. All home videos are shaky regardless of what camera is used, plus jello. (BTW, now its getting worse, people are starting to use gimbals... Personally I hate that floaty thing when it doesn't have a purpose.)

Its all metal, so I doubt it would break before a DSLR and those seem to hold up. Nooo Shooting with a pistol grip on a bmpcc is actually nice. And I think it will be very popular on the Micro as well. Dont let your shots get ruined because of looks. If people have a problem with the looks of your gear, just show them the footage. Technically you can buy it anywhere. Delivery on the other hand. That might take a while. I sell all my cameras all the time. I enjoy trying new once and it makes me money
