  1. I used to dial it down in sharpness and contrast etc. Now days.. nope. I shoot in Gamma DR but leave sharpness, saturation, contrast at default. Think the image is great.
  2. This is slightly of topic but I wanted to share. Did a side by side of the NX1 and RX100iv and noticed how much sharper the NX1 (often to sharp). And when both cameras are at their default settings.. man its like a knife. Same settings on both, ND on both, no correcting, standard PP. UHD 25p frame grabs. (click for full res) RX100iv NX1
  3. Found one in stock today. Thought about it for a while but skipped it. Looking at the current a6000 prices, waiting is probably the smart move.
  4. Are they made of gold? Same sensor in the gm1, you get three used for the price of a GH2
  5. Ungraded Slog2 Selfie, http://www.filedropper.com/ungradedslog Here is what I did,
  6. Would be a first for Sony. Went by "The Building of Moire" with the rx100iv yesterday and it was almost 100% clean. Still behind the BMPC4K and LX100 but very clean. So its possible There you go, http://www.filedropper.com/ungradedslog
  7. The aspect ratio depends on the lens, what squeeze did it have? Im not sure exactly where you unsqueese, but someone else will.
  8. I guess your joking, would be super weird to take it personal at this point. (BTW, if you are really upset I will give you the opportunity to get back at me straight away ) Any who, Ive been trying to get a quick workflow going for skin and Slog and this is how far Ive come so far. There is a bit to much red in the skin still. But when removing it I still wasn't happy and didn't have time to tweak any more for today. But still I think its a bit ok, this is a very dark and pale time of the year, so some rosier checks is nice. So, in no way perfect skin, but imo its passable. Will keep researching others workflows and keep perfecting. This was done with 2 steps. And thats my end goal, workable image for grading with two simple steps. I know that. The problem is that slog is 10 times harder and more cumbersome to grade than most LOGs.
  9. Would still call the doctor.
  10. I would edit raw over prores any time, from any camera.
  11. Its nice but not a fan. Would take the BMPC4K or BMCC over the F3. And you get 2 used BMCCs for one F3
  12. But you get 2 Scarlets or 3 Red One MX for that F5
  13. Wouldnt worry about it. They are still in stock and pop up used all the time. Im looking for a used 50-150 S now. Plan on spending $650. Or wait untill it hits sub $500.
  14. Yeah I payed $1600 for the NX1, 16-50 S, 30/2, 16/2.4, 45/1.8 and an extra battery. And Im sure I could have gotten it cheaper. So image/dollar is definitely the NX1. Between the a7sii and a6300 would probably go a7sii if money wasnt an issue.
  15. I returned the A7sii after the two weeks the store gives. I returned the RX100iv after one day. Loved it yesterday while shooting. Hated it today when I saw the finished footage.
  16. Doubt it. Would be a first for Sony mirrorless.
  17. By grading I meant no creative process. Just curves. You have to excuse me for skipping the semantics. I know its under exposed, dont care about that either at this point.
  18. Good enough to be a BMD Beta Tester Any who, Ive been playing with that setting as a base all night and think Ive finally have a quick preset that gets me there and lets me use LUTs as base for grading. But then there is a lot of noise. Don't know if its low exposure or something else but it needs to be tackled. Otherwise I will probably let it go.
  19. I can sell you two Nikkor f1.4
  20. This is the settings I used for the Slog. Played with it some more and got the skin just right. But still to much work imo. Better to just shoot Cine. From this thread. http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?326049-A7S-PicPro-Settings Black Level: 0 Gamma Slog: 2 Black Gamma > Range: Middle , Level: -3 Knee > Mode: Auto , Auto Set > Max Point: 95 , Sensitivity: Mid Colore Mode: Pro Saturation: +8 Color Phase -2 Color Depth > R+1, G-1, B+2,, C-2, M-1, Y-3 Detail > Level, -5 Adjust > Mode; Manual, V/H Balance: -2, B/W Balance Type3, Limit: 0, Crispening:0, hi_light Detail: 0 White balance > Manual > Grid setting B 1 (one to the left) 3000-3600 = Tungsten 5000 - 5600 = Daylight 6100 - 7000 = late day or shade/shaded interiors in daylight
  21. Who did that? Im not sure you're getting the point of the complaints we have against Slog in comparison to C-Log, BMDFilm, heck even G-Log.
  22. Or use a [Insert Camera Brand]. Just kidding
