Not according to the Poll I did with 4000 answers. Nor according to the discussion on that FB group. And just by looking at this forum its easy to see that Canon users are constantly jumped on but if a Canon user says even a slightly negative thing, factual or subjective, about another brand all hell breaks loose. There are of course fanboys in all camps but a couple of brands definitely sticks out. Honestly, I dont believe that you believe it. Lately Ive been thinking about encouraging Canon, Pentax and Nikon users to take a stand. Because the debates are so crazy when the Canikon users talks calmly and states facts and opinions about the gear and the Fanboy only responds with things like "idiot" or "stupid". On this forum alone its been so long with effortless diplomacy that Canikon users might as well try using the same rhetoric and see if that somehow opens Fanboys eyes to the fact that everyone has different needs. For example: The EOS-R vs Sony A7iii I bought the R and am thinking about buying one for the company I work for because it gives me the features I need and sadly, the Sony doesn't have them. But when saying things like that the response is often "idiot" or "zombie" or something similar. So instead I can try the Sony approach and say that its because, "The Sony A7iii is an underspeced, overpriced hunk of absolute garbage and only a true shill and apologist would buy one. Sony wine and dine the entire youtube at least once a week and zombies buy it because of the badge on the body. Nothing else." I want to believe that that sort of nonsense wouldn't be constructive. Imo all cameras have strengths and weaknesses and all cameras are not built for "me". The A7 for example is a master piece imo. But maybe its time to try something different because the current state just brings everything down. Its tiring to read the same bicker over and over. Read a question from a noob asking what setting to use only to see him being jumped on by a bunch of Fanboys from another brand. (NOTE: Im mostly a Panasonic and Fuji user. Then Sony. Currently I have a Panasonic, a Fuji and a Canon.)

Canon on the forefront of action cam development...

Exactly. There are lots of people outside these forums. We are still a minority. -

The intended customer of this camera doesn't even know what those numbers mean. They probably couldn't care less. -
Canon on the forefront of action cam development...

Yup, a toy camera for fun and games. Not everything has to be for dudes in Oakleys I really think Peter Gregg hit the nail on the head in his Canon RP video when he said that the general idea online is that "every camera must be made for ME!". So true when browsing forums. -

When listening to the guy and watching the adds I see nothing that points to it trying to be an action camera in the sense that you guys mean. -
You misunderstood my post. Raw is basically a text file containing the code needed to make the baked image which could for example be a h264. I don't believe there is such a limit that you are looking for. So to answer your question: No, h264 is not a very compressed form of raw. I stick to the actual definition of what raw is, but people are of course free to make up their own definitions. Might cause some confusion for you at times but that wouldn't be the end of the world.

I care so little it's hard to put words on it. Guess this thread is yet another lost cause. Out.

Again, all Leicas that says "Made in Germany" has to be 80% made in Germany. Let's not derail another thread, let it go.

I love that lens. Pares so nicely with an M8. Being able to easily adjust the focus on it is also a huge bonus imo.

What Do Y'all Think of The Kinefinity Mavo LF?
Mattias Burling replied to Zach Goodwin2's topic in Cameras
Looks like it's happening. Great review on the other hand.. I will try my best but I haven't shot a cinema camera for a while It will at least be medium format because I can't put the Baveyes down for a minute. Been using it at least a little for each session I've done since getting it. -

Imo 28mm is the separator. Otherwise one would choose between the Q and a M240 or something with a Leica 35mm. The 28mm summilux is $6000 and therefor out of reach. And among street shooters 28mm is extremely popular.

I had the first version. Really enjoyed it. Hopefully the Q2 will push down the prices even further so I can buy it again even cheaper. If anything it will be amusing to read all the comments on the various sites from triggered non-photographers that doesn't understand the appeal. Or are just jealous because they can't afford it and/or utilize it

What Do Y'all Think of The Kinefinity Mavo LF?
Mattias Burling replied to Zach Goodwin2's topic in Cameras
The coolest footage from the Mavo Ive seen is definitely the tests with the Kipon Medium Format Speedbooster. Kipon is supporting this guy who is working on shooting a film (can't remember if it was a feature) using only MF glass and the reducer. BTW, I asked if he (Kipon) could try to hook me up with a loaner of the Mavo, since he and the Kinefinity owner are friendly. I doubt me and my viewers are their target audience, but it doesn't hurt to ask -
Can happen to anyone, footage looks splendid now PS. Im glad you enjoy the videos!

Some more skateboarding from my favorite CCD ever. Global shutter FTW. And of course..

I don't know about the A7iii but my A7sii could not touch the DR of the 13stop BMCC, D750 or even the 12stop XC10 and 5Dmkiii raw. So I doubt the A7iii could match a BMPC4K. At least I haven't seen any footage that points to it being able to. Would love it if it could. Maybe then I could justify it's imo to high price.

What frame rate did you shoot in and what frame rate did you set the timeline to? Suspecting a miss match. Other than that it looks really good. Great job!

Canon EOS R first impressions - INSANE split personality camera
Mattias Burling replied to Andrew Reid's topic in Cameras
The speedbooster needs to sit within the flange distance. Like any adapter the lens must be for a mount with a longer flange than the camera. RF and RF has the same distance so the speedbooster must be a maximum of 0mm thick. -

Don't see how that would even work.
