You where getting ripped of, a mount for Yashica is €100 But mine takes Nikon and need no more accessories. Regarding hard drive space, I love how little space it eats. Compared to the BMCC its a vegitarian But I get your points. Its as always all down to personal situation, needs, preference, etc. If we take the URSA. Its first of all much more expensive. Probably twice or three times the cost after all the accessories. A used URSA or URSA mini 4K body only is more than I payed for a fully rigged Red with media, EVF, Monitor, etc. And if I rigg out an URSA I have a camera with very smilar specs. Both shoot Raw, bot have high fps Raw etc. Seize and weight.. yeah the URSA mini 4K might be a little lighter but its heavy enough for me not to exactly run around with it. And its lower DR etc. But the the reason that made the final push is the Red codec. It is crazy nice to work with. Specially if you have Final Cut (which I very recently switched to). You can use Resolve, Reds free grading software or simply import in Final Cut with access to Raw settings. But what really sets it apart from the BMD Raw is that it flows. If I use 4.5K Raw (crazy) WITHOUT creating proxies or optimized media, its pretty much real time playback. On a base model Macbook.

I buy most of my stuff used. Simply because you get more for your money. And it was during the release of the A7rii and A7sii that I got the idea. Why pay such a premium price for a camera thats going to be worth half within a year? And what can I get for the same amount today?(It was the same reasoning that lead me into my recent film endeavor.) So I found myself looking at used cameras in the €3000 segment. At the top of my list where the Sony F35, but no luck (since I needed a recorder as well). I also looked at URSA, FS700, 1DC etc but none was a perfect match. So I started lurking the Red user forum. There I saw Red Scarlets ready to shoot with accessories for as low as $6000. And when I saw the Red One with everything you need + a set of Rokkinon prime lenses for a crazy low $4000,I knew it would be the one. That particular seller didn’t want to ship to Sweden, but another one did. In less than 24h from leaving Spain, this huge box sat on my floor. (Disclaimer: All IMO of course, totally get why one would rather have an A7rii, its was just my personal thoughts.)

About €1200. But thats just the asking price, would pay him less.

Make me an offer worth my while and I will buy it for you

I used to work in sports broadcasting so pretty much anyone that has seen Rally, Soccer, Track or Tennis has seen my work (even though I was just one in a production chain of hundreds.) I rarely freelance, but even then Im not often required to use my own gear. I usually have them rent something. On a daily basis my employer has always provided the gear. I buy stuff to use for personal projects and as an enthusiast. Its also because I almost immediately started drifting from shooting, reporting and editing towards producing, directing and creating. So having some gear at home and playing around is a way to keep the skills fresh in case I ever quit to start my own or need extra cash. But just to show something, Look at 00:04 in this commercial

Cant speak for others but Im not excactly allowed to share footage from work. It belongs to my employer or client. I can only share stuff from home. And eventhough I just finished a 20min doc shot on the bmpcc, bmcc, bmpc4k and lx100 that I own completly, I wont share it because it then looses value when selling it to a network.

Its just some guy at a classified. Im a bit tempted to pick it up and then sell the lens on ebay. The thing is that anything not Canikon is impossible to sell used in Sweden. And our used prices are low from the get go. A Panasonic G7 is now somerhing like $450 new in the store. That means $225 used. Same with Sony. They are concidered to be in a lower class. And Samsung.. No body here even knows they make cameras. They will be filed under "other" together with chinese Gopro clones. They are the Toshiba Happy Book of cameras. Great for people like me

It is in europe. Maybe I can help you buy it.

me to.

A used NX1 with the 16-50 is $1300 so its doable.

The word "hipster" means, something I dont understand and therefor dismiss to cover my ignorance. So I dont really get the question.

Home made Vanilla sauce

The Bolex also has down right awesome audio. Plus some other cool tricks. URSA Micro imo. But I do love the 2.5k raw out of my bmcc as well.

Yeah well I rewatched Dirty Harry the other day, shot 40 years ago and it looks better. Technicolor.....

Thats pretty much what Gorilla Grain is. Just place them on a layer on top of your video and switch them to "Overlay". Done. Looks great. A tip, don't buy them straight away. Sign up for their email and download the demo, what a while and they will send you a 50 dollar rebate. They have one for free that you can try first. http://gorillagrain.com

Bought a Nikon 17-35/2.8 with a busted AF for very little money. Since I never use AF I like it Might have to look for more lenses in that state.
-
Since I only have two digital cameras its not that though of a choise. Film cameras I also have two but would choose the K3 because I have lots of lenses for it. I have so far not payed anything. Im making a guide soon on how to get a few rolls done for free.
-
I have 9 rolls of that sitting in my freezer
-
I would say CCD vs CMOS since I treat the raw after switching it to BMD Film. Normally you crop it out but I thought I leave it in for fun. Scanned it in a lab.

Short Film shot on the BMPCC and T3i (Upscaled to 4k)
Mattias Burling replied to Micah Mahaffey's topic in Cameras
Youtube gives about 10mbit to HD and 30mbit to 4K. So the upscale gives you a 30mbit HD file. Which is why today, 4K vs HD is pretty though to tell apart on youtube. -
Yeah, Gunpowder jumped because the H16 is a loud camera. She's not used to that. And me, Im often borded when I do tests, its kinda the reason I make them. But for the Krasnogorsk clip I had to ask my GF to operate it and she was making fun of me. So more alive indeed Yeah, I got a fair bit of "hate" as well because I downgraded the BMPCC to throw people of a bit. Sensitive stuff when you mention peoples gear

It does look nice. Besides the moire in the water. That very clip made me get rid of it back then. Guess the a7s and the a7s/rii doesnt have that issue.

She knows theres always a treat in it for her to stay put in front of the lens
