  1. 24p can stutter on some PAL screens the same way my 25p stutters on one of my NTSC screens. But for most it will look ok so dont worry about it.
  2. or any lens. It was brand most used on Flickr 2014. If you dont understand that I guess statistics isnt your thing. The others where most sold from B&H and Amazon. If you have better numbers from better sources, plese share.
  3. Dont use 30p if you live in europe. Use 25 or 24. Otherwise eelectrical lights will flicker.
  4. I think you should comon and know what I mean. Just to be safe I will say it again. Motion picture film is scanned in real time. Meaning 1h of footage takes 1h to scan. Why on earth would you scan frame by frame or only 12? What crappy lab are you using that does that? I dont even believe you. Stills on the other hand. You know photograps that doesnt move. Those I scan 12 and 12. And it seems I have to point out another thing a second time since it seems you misssed that as well, Shooting film does not mean that someone will break into your house and kill you if you also shoot alot of digital
  5. There is no need to scan frame by frame. Motion film is scanned in real time and stills are scanned 12 at the time in my scanner. Any who, the h.265 converters where ok imo. I often still convert Raw in after effects instead of Resolve. Its about planing imo.
  6. I already do that sometimes. For stills. There are many fun ways to make images with chemicals from a drugstore.
  7. No huge tanks needed and only 1 litre of chemical. Same as today for stills. Scanning is cheap to do in a lab. But I also plan to use reversal and a projector to scan it myself. A 16mm projector is easy to find for free.
  8. Not true. I will make a guide to s16mm for hobby use this winter. In it I will show how you can shoot a short on 16mm for free. Without being a student or having sponsors. Anybody can do it. When I decided to start I was debating the a7sii (if it would have turned out better). Then I thought, why? For $3000 I can just keep what ever camera I have and shoot loads of film instead. But remember. Shooting film doesnt mean that you will be killed if you shoot digital for the most part. If one is a filmaker in short dramas. He/she can practise with their t2i and use the money for that years latest and greatest what ever just came from NAB, for film. Use a phone or something for all the skits and such. And film for that one important short. No grading needed IMO the reason not to shoot film is first and foremost if one doesnt like the look. I will also start developing and processing myself. Ive done that for the last couple of years anyway with stills. Best and cheapest way to get good stills with high DR in medium format (the "Small picture" aka Fullframe can be limiting). btw, just saw some BTS from a popular comercial in sweden. They used 35mm. so still used even by smaller production houses.
  9. Same here. Almost. I have always gotten better results with Raw, BMD prores or Canon C-Log. Also older Panasonic camcorders. (never had a mont to finish a doc unless its personal work. 1 week tops if its for broadcast. And as always thats the point. We all have different needs. Even among wedding shooters I bet there are those with much tighter deadlines.)
  10. If you by digital mean renting an Alexa its probably about the same or cheaper. In sweden film is much cheaper than renting something like an Alexa.
  11. That doesnt matter to me. If where not done in time there is no dinner. Simple as that. But in this example we are in luck since the A7sii is no stake imo. At best its the small sallad but that for some reason takes forever
  12. Its only roughly $30 so I wont get much. Unless I buy for stills or you hooj me up on some student prices
  13. He has won several Oscars but imo this is cooler BTW, Greta Garbo is also getting one.
  14. Since the d750 is outselling the A7-line they are probably not in any hurry.
  15. Maybe. All I know is that if I asign a guy at work to do a video and he asks to use an A7sii instead of a C100 but needs 3h extra in post. Well, I think we all know what I will say. And time isnt the whole issue either. If he gets sick and someone else needs to finish it with him being the only one thats familiar with S-log.
  16. Why do people always say stuff like "its not fair"? Who cares if its fair. I just want to compare and different lenses is just a parameter like anything else. We're not looking for a "winner", its just a comparison. Thanks for the regraded version.
  17. Its still the third most popular camera (not dslr, camera) at B&H so not really overdue imo. I think Canon are really smart. While the others have sunk money into countless models and features they have just kept selling the same old camera at a premium price. Genius.
  18. It was more the lack of a Full Frame that keept me from it. Isnt much of a point to use it on smaller. I have bought vintage glass than most so I see where you are coming from. But yeah, it is great. Its one of those "have to try to get" sort of things. Not for everyone of course.
  19. Ive been wanting one of these for a long time but never had the opportunity to get one. But today was my lucky day! Only shot a few seconds with it and fell instantly in love.
  20. I did not see that coming. I can imagine it beeing easy to get since over expose is sort of practise Would you say its easier or harder to spot while shooting than on the Blackmagic?
  21. I know. And some dont think framerates are more important than high DR and therefor buy Canon. Some want higher framerates and are willing to sacrifice DR and buy Sony. Some says screw both DR and FR and buy the one thats most durable. Others buy a Gopro. All depends on need and usage.
  22. Does that include bitrate, color space, color, user friendly LOG, AF, Lenses, Focus by wire, build quality, menus, etc. Not trying to bash Sony, just saying, we all like, need, prioritise differently.
