  1. Like I said, wasn't talking about the video. Only pointed out that shadows can have different colors. In fact, its impossible for shadows not to have a color. They are never ever grey. They are always the opposite color of the light hitting the object that causes the shadow.
  2. During the golden to blue hour shift anything in shadow tend to be blue. And higlights are gold. Specially during cold nights. Not talking about the video above just pointing out that if you havent seen blue needles on pine its because you havent been out looking much. The reason the orange teal is sureal but still works is because its the way tve world looks at sun down. Its a natural palette.
  3. Its also an endless black hole to put money in. If one wants to that is.
  4. Subjectivly of course. Imo the NX1 is awesome but does not produce better HD than the D750. It doesnt even produce better 4K than the bmpcc. Yes I mean the HD bmpcc. Its footage upscaled is imo better. 5D raw is nothing to write home about imo. My own tests show that the d750 have more DR than the XC10 at twelve stops wich puts it easily 2stops above the A7s. My point isnt to defend the D750. I like all the cameras you list. I just wanted to say that "better" is very subjective when we talk about image quality and depends on different factors for different people. So the OP should take in all the advices but then look inwards and ask what he/she likes, needs and wants.
  5. I thought the VC on my 17-50 was a bit so and so. If they are good I would concider going for the 45mm as well.
  6. Yah, Flat 11 is so sweet and when grading I again wonder how its possible to get such a quality/mbps ratio. I got an offer of 15% of on the Tamron VC Primes but Im not sure about them. So far I haven't found any examples showing the VC being very effective for video. And since I have really good stabilization in the 24-120/4 I might instead just get a regular 35mm. Have you seen any god examples, because I would love to have a stabilized 35mm? Glad you subbed Yeah the DR is pretty out there. Easily 13 stops, no doubt in my mind. It has two crop modes if I'm not mistaken, Haven't tried yet myself but I might give it ago during the weekend.
  7. Ive had my D750 for a few weeks now and love it. The image quality/file size is amazing. Colors are sweet. Body and buttons nice. Its a great cam and I ditched my G7 for it (pretty much the same as a GH4).
  8. Makes sence, often find german and swedish to be very close. A medium format booster would be so so sweet. Regarding the size difference I would prefer the size of the leica over the A7. I like form factor of my D750 over the A7 and A7ii I had any day.
  9. I think Sweden should export their native words for film/sensor sizes since we dont get that confusion. We have always called Full Frame/35mm wide, "Small Picture". No way to confuse with Apsc/s35.
  10. The first used FS7 just surfaced in Sweden. Hardly used, mint condition €6500 Which means €6000 and probably 5500-5700 if you pull the old "Money today" routine.
  11. Imo the lx100 and nx500 are equally suitable or unsuitable as a primary camera since none of them have a mic input. The lx100 migt have the upperhand since its a bigger sensor(in 4k), has an evf and a sweet lens. I recently sold my G7 but its a good option for your needs. Its in very close competition with the NX1. I would personally pick the NX1 but the G7 is a good camera.
  12. Imo, Best looking camera in a long time. If you have alot invested in one lens mount. Just sell. You can more often than not sell for example your mft lenses and buy equivalent used lenses of another mount for the same price. And if you once get in to the used lens game and get good at it, you actually turn profit everytime you switch system. Or just stick to Nikon mounted lenses and be done.
  13. Yeah and they have dropped rougly 200% in 12 monts so I wouldn't worry about it. It can only get cheaper. Meanwhile a Cfast to SSD cable is $50.
  14. Note that they accept best offers so you might get even cheaper. I used this one and didn't pay import taxes. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexar-128GB-3400x-CFast-2-0-Memory-Card-510MB-s-For-Camcorders-and-DSLR-Cameras-/181791904306?hash=item2a53a45232:g:o4cAAOSwMmBVlpPE This one is the cheaper one and given its a small card in an envelope, at least in Sweden there is a good chance it would slip though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexar-128GB-3400x-CFast-2-0-Memory-Card-510MB-s-For-Camcorders-and-DSLR-Cameras-/181791904306?hash=item2a53a45232:g:o4cAAOSwMmBVlpPE But taxes or not its cheaper
  15. The d5500 doesn't have Zebra and Histogram in live view?
  16. My tip, dont make business investments with unreleased gear, period. Not bmd not Sony not Canon. Its a dissaster whaiting to happen. If someone pulled a stunt like that where I work they would be freelance before lunch
  17. Totally missed that, thanks, will rewatch (would have done that anyway ) Great review btw, long time follower. /M
  18. Thats how I feel, have had so many cameras I can usualy ball park it. And of course depends on our reference. What is 12 to me might be 11 to some body else. Personally my reference is Blackmagic 2.5k cinema camera at 13. If a camera is better its above 13 and vice versa. Therefor my guess on the a7sii is 11 +- 1. Could be tvelve but that remains to be seen.
  19. The tricky part is that we don't know how they exposed and how they graded. That's why I need to see more examples. But the last daylight shots looked like lower than Canon 12 to my eye and definitely lower than BMD 13. Hopefully daylight tests won't be as hard to find as it was for the A7s.
  20. I'm not going to judge it from one single review. But after seeing this I'm going to prepare myself for being dissapointed in the Dynamic Range. Just like I was in the A7s, and frankly, anything with a Sony logo. It's not that it's bad. But it's always hyped at +15 stops that turn out to be 11. But aside from that it seems to be a great camera. Lowlight needs no further comments. Small and light with great stabilization (at least from my experience with the a7ii). Looking forward to Andrews review. Think his style is more suited for me as reference.
