Guess you didnt have the sound on

IMO, The point of the test that he clearly states where, 1. DSLR is better than phone. 2. A phone can NOT replace a real camera. 3. Its sad that Canikon doesn't implement 4K, given their high price. 4. Its sad that Canikon doesn't implement high bitrate, given their high price. 5. Its great that Panasony have implemented 4K and high bitrate. 6. There isn't a good reason for it since Samsung and even Apple have it in their phones.

But the big problem here is this thread. I don't think anybody in this thread watched the video. I did and the video already says every single thing pointed out here. The people against that test are against 4K, against bitrate and hate Panasony for implementing 4K and high bitrate video...? Why? I like having high bitrate and would love in Canikon followed Panasonys lead.

No one is saying Apple invented 4k. Just calm down. But it is the first time in an iPhone and iPhone users are happy about it. I dont use an iPhone myself but if I did I would be happy about it. "Here you go sir, 1 million dollars for you." "Wow, thanks, thats awesome!" "Hey! Dont you dare be happy about this. Your such an idiot, you think you invented being rich when lots of people already are. Im gonna go spend some of my valuable time before I die, angry about this.... Because thats smart..."

ahh, always thought that was just the manual. Never checked:)

Always update. It is confirmed that they have added unofficial bug fixes in firmwares before. And yes, in a firmware that stated no changes on that particular model.

URSA Mini vs Raven (Updated with Raven 4.5K)
Mattias Burling replied to Jonesy Jones's topic in Cameras
I wont say anything for sure before either using both or seeing alot of footage from both. But if I was to guess based on current available gear, gear Ive used, specs like compression as well as hardware specs, etc. The URSA will win in Image Quality, price and usability. -
That is correct. The BMPCC has always had lossless Raw. Never totally uncompressed. That statemet btw is about the 2.5k BMCC. Are you sure about loosing raw, because I have never heard about it before?

Its pretty much all I ever use.

Hey guys, Im looking for a University but cant find any info in chineese. Anybody know a forum I could visit?

The Panasonic 20mm f1.7 is a long time favourite of mine. The Sigma 19, 30 and 60mm f2.8 are also good and cheap.

But is that really Panasonics idea of sleep mode? Display still on etc? I thought the point of sleep modes was to save battery not just annoy the user EDIT: Just checked and there isn't a way o turn it of. At least not that I can find. I have the regular stand by and sleep mode that I cant turn of but put at 5min and 10min. But the "Semi Stand By" that goes on after just 1min is still intact.
-
yes, but what if you press once to record, press again to stop, whait a minute while you fiddle with the tripod, press once. For me it is not recording directly the second time. Its more like its been in some semi stand by mode. Might be a menu setting, either way its annoying as hell
-
What happens if you let it sit for a while and then hit record? Regarding rolling shutter a camera either has it or it has a global. More or less doesnt matter to me. I wouldn't do fast pans with either.

And the youtube version.

Sorry for total OT. My Z3 isn't that waterproof And a friend had to return his rx100iv because of constant overheating. And that's definitely not waterproof
-
True, my xc10 is roughly the size of an rx10ii, same sensor size, shots a substantially higher bitrate. No over heating. Reason: Fan It seems to me that they simply aren't very good at heat disposal. Maybe there is a patent issue involved. An example is my Sony Z3 phone. When you record 4k video a warning shows up that says you can only record a few minutes then it will need to shut of and cool. This is how its intended to work (or not work). My LG on the other hand, which is known as a phone that easily gets hot, does not have such a warning nor problem. It can even record 4k in 200Mbps and doesnt heat up nearly as quick as the Sony. Just a theory.

And still the price held me back a bit. Because the g6 dropped with 50% rather quickly and went on all the way to the sub $250 quite long before it was discontinued. But needed it rather pronto for a project so it is what it is. Might sell it after its done around Christmas.

Not always but I expose to the right. I would cinsider the NX1 if it fits the budget.

Its nice and small. Very well built. The image is nice if just a bit brittle and the 100Mbps feels limiting. The screen is nice, EVF is ok, price is great. So far it feels like a solid c-cam/still cam. I hate that you often need to double tap record to get it to start (might be a setting, haven't had time to check). 4K Frame Here is my first dirty test, just used vintage glas. No real grading just quick fiddle with curves, LUTs and some presets.

IR and ND filters for Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera
Mattias Burling replied to Damphousse's topic in Cameras
I agree, but both Brawley and Kholi have tested the SLR Magic and said that they find it better than the Tiffen that pretty much won Dougdales test. I bought my Genus based on his testing but if I was to redo it today I would go SLR Magic.- 26 replies

For me the last Zacuto Shootout showed that no more shootouts needs to be made. Its still 100% current and adding the c300ii, fs7, ursa mini etc would not ad anything valuable to the test. The result would still be, given a good DP and enough lights, they can all look good. Thats why I a while back tested and imo sort of proofed the opposite. If you take a couple of cinema cameras and a couple of cheap once but pay zero attention to lights and grading. It will again look pretty much the same.
