  1. If you know a cheaper solution please let me know so I can buy it. In other words one product for less than $140 that makes my camera instantly fit on every single tripod, rigg, stabilizer, etc in the world without modification.
  2. Because its much cheaper and they want things like NDs? Personally I would rather have the URSA but totally get why others don't. Even a Gopro could kill this or an URSA if you plan on using it as an action camera. Imo, there is zero point trying to figure out which camera is better than another. Because there is no such thing as a generally better camera.
  3. I also wanted to play So I went with two cameras.
  4. The 5D is struggling to give 11 stops in Raw, imo.
  5. I'm gonna stay somewhere between agnostic and skeptical to it having 14 stops.
  6. There is only one single feature that imo makes this camera very considerable to the competition. 4K RAW in Future Firmware
  7. I've been waiting on this little thing since announced. Finally received it today. It works just as advertised and is even a bit sturdier than I expected. Of the cameras I have used I would have no trouble using pretty much any DSLR with a mic and big 70-200 or even the BMPC4K with batteries, cage and FF. The only problem I see people have in previous comments is the price of $145. But IMO, totally worth it. Specially since I pretty much always have a different mount on my slider that I like but wouldnt want on a video head,
  8. False alarm, what a shame, would have made the camera interesting.
  9. False alarm, Sony Alpharumors wrote it like it was RAw over HDMI (which the shogun can accept). Key specs: 12MP Exmor CMOS sensor RAW output 14 bit (real or lossy?) Internal 4K recording with higher dynamic range 5 axis stabilization Much improved AF in low light conditions (169 AF points) The A7SII will be available in November 2015, at 3400€.
  10. And Blackmagic have dropped the regular URSA with $1000. Personally I'm waiting on all of it pushing the used prices of the BMPC4K even further down. So I can by my third
  11. I just go by my experience as a TV-Producer in national and international broadcasting with endless sessions with focus groups, ratings, view counts and so on. If you don't believe me, try for your self. Show your grandmother my 4K vs Upscaled HD video and see if she can tell the difference. (she won't)
  12. I sincerely hope that Im wrong. But I suspect it will look smashing on paper, in the pics, the price... but then I won't see any footage that really blows me away. Finally if I test it I will feel underwhelmed and a little bit annoyed by the S-Log. Again, I hope Im wrong and wish nothing more than for Sony to give me the image of a BMD or Canon in their otherwise awesomely speced and priced cameras.
  13. Yes, they have announced 4 different betas. You can always check their webpage to see which is the latest. Currently it's 4.
  14. C) they don't see the difference (I don't believe for a second that you could on a youtube stream since no one else can). D) they don't care (forum nerds like us are a minority). E) There is no 4k content, 720p is still king or not yet implemented. F) TVs are expensive and there is nothing wrong with their current set. G) There is more to life than TV resolution. For the absolute majority of the population, resolution is probably at the very bottom of the priority list. This. In an interview I heard recently with the head of tech at our largest network he was very clear. "We don't talk about 4K at all. The difference would be so small compared to the investment. We focus on bitrate and color depth. Because that's going to look much sharper and clearer."
  15. According to the statistics on my channel a huge majority watch on their computer. Cellphones are rising and tablets are dropping. The big point of 4k for youtube IMO is the higher bitrate and lower compression that makes the HD look better. My tests showed that HD upscaled also looked better due to the higher bitrate. It even happens to be that people can't tell 4K and HD upscaled apart on youtube.
  16. When I spoke to the developers at MWC they where of course not specific but it was clear that a 1020 successor before 2016 wasn't very likely. I also said that, not very popular Some where in such denial it was comical.
  17. nope, I hope its in the 1020 successor. But since I use both its ok. I've only had my Flex 2 a few days but really like it. Will be a good match to the 940
  18. I've been playing today. Only problem is that the Flat Profile only flickers on when I do adjustments and that ends up in the footage. But I can still take advantage of PAL and the nice 200Mbps. Its funny that the camera on my newly bought LG is considered bad.. lol! 4K Frame Graded, LGs camera and Cinema 4K (click for full res), Before and after grade,
  19. ive posted some already but if you mean upload just tell me to which service?
  20. Went to the store today to replace my Z3 that's been acting up lately. Almost bought a G4, thinking about this app, but came home with a Flex 2. Turns out the Cinema 4K app runs just fine on it, will shoot some tests this weekend
  21. To bad the A7s isn't in the same league and no one contemplating the Canon would concider the A7s. It's like saying the point goes to the IPhone over the Alexa since it can play angry birds.
  22. The supported phones should be the SG6 and SG6 Edge as well as the HTC M9. Atleast those are the once announced at MWC15, don't remember if there where others of the lesser known brands. This is good stuff. I've been swinging both Windows Phone and Android for a few years and the Lumias have always had manual controls and such built in. It's great that the Android is catching up and I can let other things than the camera be the deciding factor of witch to bring when I go places.
