  1. They have done this 4 years in a row so imho, its the customers and forum readers that needs to wake up and stop being surprised and/or angry about this every summer. Its done when its done, no hurry, no one needs the camera today unless they are very bad at the planing part of being a filmmaker.
  2. The 5dii is decent but I would never use it for anything but play. Not Worth the hassle imo compared to just getting a BMD for Raw.
  3. rx10ii/100iv is my guess.
  4. A used FS100 is about $1500 around my parts. Could be a good options.
  5. I would still use 800 and push in post.
  6. I recently bought my first Canon since the t3i and totally get your point.
  7. Not to much to worry about since its pretty much impossible to be screwed as a buyer on eBay. You always get your money back. Being a seller on the other hand, watch out! Never sell anything for more than you are ready to loose. A seller has 0 protection and a buyer can trick you and get both the product and money at any time they choose. Nothing to stop them. Sellers beware.
  8. ok let's flip it, show me examples on why one should spend three times as much on the A7rII despite over heating etc.
  9. sorry, imo no such thing exist. If you ask me every single camera ever made is full of dealbreaking flaws. Every one. It's just a matter of deciding which you are willing to live with. And while on the subject, no camera in the world is better than another. It's all down to what the user needs.
  10. hey, if you don't see any of the problems, buy it. Must be the perfect camera.
  11. There you have it. Me being a tiny bit interested in what the high mp would do means, how badly it will screw up the image quality and how much moire there will be Skeptical then, even more skeptical now.
  12. Ive never said there was any quality loss on the A7rII, why should it be. It's just that if the Digital stabilisation in the NX1 doesn't have quality loss I see zero reasons to buy the A7rii over an NX1. And, no, I wasn't hopeful about the A7rii at all, I was extremely skeptical from day one. That's why you won't find many comments by me in the threads about it. And it was when looking at the price it got here in Sweden I decided to go for 16mm film instead.
  13. Sounds like something to look into, thanks for the tip
  14. Two areas where I didn't expect this camera to be as useful was stills and for my weird hobby of making unboxings/demos of stuff I buy. For stills it's obviously no dslr but for BTS, instagram, family and forWebb reporting I find myself using it constantly. About unboxings and such. It's just a fast workflow with one lens and NDs. The light weight also makes things easier. In the first couple of clips I accidentally had the iso at 3200.
  15. Because it often gets dirty or dusty while shooting which sends vibrations upp through the camera.
  16. Yes, a 24-50mm primes, how does it look. Btw, My biggest use for IS isnt handheld, it's for sliders.
  17. Could you clarify, because I really don't get your point at all. But if you mean what I think you mean my response is, No, do absolutely not depend on After Effects. The whole "Fix it in post" strategy is and always been a bad strategy. If you want steady shots, just bring a tripod and be done with it. Same goes for stabilisation, lens or in camera, it's nice to have. Sometimes very nice. But it's not gonna make your video for you. YOU need to work for it. Making sloppy exposures, bad audio recordings, etc just to "fix it in post" is gonna bite you every time. Fix it in camera.
  18. Medium Format is very cropped as well. Large format has a 1.0 crop imo. But no one would know what the heck I was talking about so I stick to FF as the bench mark. .
  19. oh dear god, never in post. sorry all I see is reduced vibrations and jello. But it sounds like none of you have the camera. So let's all try and not stear the thread of topic and wait for someone that have it to confirm or deny the usability of the DIS.
  20. To my eye the example in your link shows that it massively reduces jello... Btw, in my experience stabilisation always reduces jello. What IS is it you have used that also has some sort of additional jello correction? Never heard of it before. Did you watch it?
  21. My favorite focal length on both FF and s35 is 35mm. But my favorite look in general is a 25ish on s16. Gives nice bokeh, perspective and a tight personal view but still usable for scenery.
  22. Favorite is 20mm on s16. On s35 or FF I prefer 35mm.
  23. Rumor says the DIS doesn't loose any substantial image quality, anybody that can confirm? And does it work with manual lenses?
